Great to hear Nic talk about the 442nd. My grandfather and great uncles on my mom’s side were all part of the 442nd during WWII. Hopefully we’ll get a full Fat Electrician Video on them someday.
I know this will be buried under the 3k+ comments but I stole that line that Isaiah said to my cheating ex gf of 5 years after I stepped up to be a dad in her pre started family and found out she was running around town while telling me she had to work late. I hope you find what you are looking for. Cold and to the point. Thank you Unsub for giving us some advice to get through the hard times.
In regard to the Omaha beach footage, I remember either reading or watching something on a military history themed page years ago and it was addressing why there was so little footage of Omaha beach. The reason given is after the combat camera guys got back and there footage was processed one of the ig army footage guys? (Can't remember) or someone to that effect saw the footage reels, became appalled and threw most of the footage overboard into the sea.
36:10, with the whole second brain stuff I use obsidian for the bidirectional linking and unlinked mentions in case i forgot to link something on accident. Its a game changer, fuck Evernote and all the built in bs notes
Dear God. Wendigoon is a grown man and can defend himself, so they probably hold off a little when defending him. I can only imagine what would happen if someone tries attacking Ryden. The whole internet would come down on him
@@Meyer-gp7nq Agree on the Ryden part, but they didn't pull any punches where Wendigoon is involved. The meme of "Wendigoon is the Golden Retriever who is adored by a pack of wolves" is true. They got SPICY
@@chiefkeef74 Remember how in World War 2 Pearl Harbor was attacked, and all of America just kind of stopped arguing with itself, looked over at the now enemy with what can only be described as 'objectively excessive malicious intent', followed by every single appliance manufacturer tuning their production line to tanks and small arms? ... _Don't attack our Hawaii. He's precious. :)_
You guys always bring joy to my life. I have two disabled sons and life has its challenges. I wish I had friends like y'all, but watching y'all makes it easier on hard days
My sister was special needs for her whole life (she’s since passed). I admire you guys like crazy. Seeing what my parents went through for 24 years really set the bar for me as a parent. You guys are saints.
"We parted a Red Sea of minimum wage servers..." - - Brandon "God of War" Herrera...whilst his boys drain all the brunch liquor and merge all the tables. Nice.
“Failed congressional candidate” is technically true, but absolutely incorrect. He didn’t get elected. But losing by 1%> to an incumbent that out spent him 10x is a win to show people there’s a chance for change, and the fight can be won. Many people don’t vote because they think it won’t matter, it does. Many people don’t run because they think they can’t win, and they could. Brandon proved that regardless of the outcome.
"I ain't gonna cry" like we aren't? we are so glad to see how happy we can make your son. good work everyone, glad we have such a great community. have a good day
I was in actual tears laughing at work with my welding hood on when Nic made the PlayStation analogy. That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.
Not only that, but Brandon unintentionally laying up the perfect follow up for Nic by saying, "My parents watch this podcast", to which Nic responds, "Your dad knows what I'm talking about" or something like that. I can't remember the exact details since I was *struggling to breathe and actively coughing up a lung from how hard I was laughing 🤣*
Not my husband literally standing up and slowly sliding the Playstation out to smell it. 😂 He wants to know how you.came to this conclusion Nick.....for the record, he agrees
My Dad was D-Day +6. Was in the 105th Combat Engineer Battalion. Fought at the battle of Mortan and was apart of the crossing the Vire River. Eisenhower said the battle at Mortan was the turning point of the European War. Pops was soon knocked unconscious by artillery fire and laid behind enemy lines for 2-3 days. Said he heard Germans all around but they assumed him dead. Then when the battle turned he was found and rescued. His journey home had begun. The war was over before he was healthy enough to go back. June 21st he would have been 103 this year. Never told anyone this stuff and don't know if anyone will read it. Regardless Happy Father's Day Dad
My Grandpa was in the battle of the bulge. He wasn't on the frontlines, he was in intelligence assigned to an Anti-Air artillery unit. He did tell me he manned a m2 browning during a night time buzz bomb attack, though.
As a german, I highly respect the ppl who gave all for the fight. Once met a British ww2 veteran many many years ago. Meant a lot to him meeting me (was during a trip with a friend in rural England during a stop. He told me, the last time he encountered a german, he and him were in uniform and trying to kill each other. He got injured, got sent back to Britain, never had the opportunity or money to travel. That meeting meant a lot to both of us I think. American effort did a lot. But gotta respect british stubbornness going into a valley of darkness with open eyes rather than doing the easy thing and play along. Back then, comparable now. They held out with the world around them falling. Because at that time, there was no way of knowing if america would join or if they will be on their own.
“There’s 50 different ways I can finish you and you don’t know which way I’m coming” I feel like that was some out of context gold and nobody caught it.
And the award for most dad joke of the year is........... Nick the Fat Electrician with Scandinavian punchline!!!! SPEECH SPEECH!!! I posted this early in the podcast, now I'm thinking about Playstation.
Y0! Eli I know a lot about Autism.... My Son was a non-verbal autism. Raised a few thousand dollars for Autism. God Bless for what you do Brother... A1C D. Wilson USAF 1980-1985
I hate so much how everyone always leaves out the fact that Pantera opened for Metallica at that concert in Russia and they absolutely killed it and gave us one of the best breakdowns in history with domination .....
@@darthbauer5153 I figured but my first assumption was "Cass" and that I simply misheard. Regardless, Nick having a son named "Cash" is absolutely fantastic, and I hope all of his children's names are jabs at communism.
Not gonna lie. I absolutely love your approach to getting into political discussion while not making this a political podcast. You’re very loving in your rhetoric while not making politics the central theme. This is what will bring people together despite our political differences. ❤
That Playstation analogy was GOLD! And far too accurate! If this bit does not get clipped for the RU-vid shorts or ends up as a clip, its not going to be a great day. Seriously needs to be clipped!
I have always said that the best 😸 smells like my childhood. Turning the ps1 upside down and sitting about 6 inches from the fans. Getting my fingers used to the controls was always the hardest part.
Some rabid feral animals that took a liking to this innocent sweet little bunny. Just because it's so innocent. And they'll throw themselves into hell itself to protect that bunny. I love it.
Perfect fucking timing Nic 😂 "You're gonna surpass us all!" "Mexicans make up 6 percent of Iowa's population" "Yeah, I got lucky" What a terrible synchronicity to be part of
Commenters, please up-vote this... can you guys PLEASE have the little kid who saved his little sister from the dog attack, on the podcast? Just do one kid friendly podcast to showcase a little hero. This kid is amazing. I love drinking and watching your show every week. But this kid is a damn hero and you have the platform and the amazing people apart of the gang to support him on the podcast. And if Ryden happen to be apart of it too....... bro..... I'm telling you... we would ALL love for that to happen. We all love and support Ryden too!! Please make this happen.
As an autistic guy who’s gotten a lot done for me in my life, it was an honor to make him smile. No need for thanks Eli. Just doing my part to make a good kids life a little better.
My man Eli, i'm fresh new to this podcast (not the members) I've been watching this channel a whole week non-stop I Love you guys! But my favorite thing is you talking and showing your son as part of the whole gang, i can feel the love and support thru the screen, its just beautiful and motivating. I really hope everything keeps going well, keep having fun, teaching history and crazy facts with the bros and family Hugs and high fives from Mexico! 💓🤘
Live show was fantastic but still waiting on my "Touch grass, eat ass" - Shinzo Abe (probably) shirt!!!! A "I'm here to play with trains and punch dudes in the face, and it looks like you don't have a train" shirt would be acceptable also.
It’s become a ritual to watch the show and reload on my day off. I’ve reloaded about 1100 rnds of 9mm ammo, 800rnds of 556, and 1200rnds of 12ga. All on single stage presses. Been shooting a lot more. Been a lot happier. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Do you weigh your rounds against a control round? I made the mistake of watching a podcast while reloading, went to weigh each round against my control, and found out half my batch had too little powder (which can blow up your gun). Ended up having to pull all the bullets, dump the powder, and redo all that work to ensure consistent and safe loads. Real easy to make a mistake if not giving 100% attention, unless you're running a fancy progressive press.
I don’t really “watch” the show. It plays in the background and I listen to it while paying attention to what I’m doing. Plus, I have a system that I will not deviate from.
Thank god, having alot of bp issues n heart rate is 120bpm...IM SO FUCKEN GLAD RYDEN WAS EXCITED ABOUT HIS PAGE...I needed this to relax n laugh right now more then I think youll ever understand guys.
I have SVTs/Bradycardia. It is an extremely annoying condition to have, and it came out of nowhere. I also use these videos to get my heart rate slowed down and chill for a little bit. Good luck with your BP issues
@@michaelsantoro170 I had a svt also when I was younger brother! Heart rate was stuck at 280bpm, thank you for the kind words...hope you are doing well now also.
@ksiss8616 yep my heart rate was stuck at 228, 280 is wild my man. Three heart restarts later and it finally came down. Thank you for the kind words as well!
Came from Pepperbox to tell this story. My grandpa joined the US navy from the Phillipines in 1968 when all Filipinos were forced to be cooks. In 1969 they opened all rates to Filipinos and my grandpa wanted to be a corpsman and go fight in Vietnam, whoever was in charge of his rate change denied it and told him he “looked too much like the enemy” and sent him to machinist mate school. He served until 1990 and was part of the fleet that responded to the Beirut barracks bombing.
Thank him for his service for me, from a US SeaBee. Loved working with our Filipino brothers when I deployed there and built schools with them. Philippines is my favorite country (after USA of course)
The irony of Brandon not being able to go because he didn't have a passport is that the first time they parachuted into France they didn't need a passport.
22:00 to add to FEs points. The 75mm was also consider sufficient for anti armor purposes aswell. Especially as most panthers could only take two or three hits from the 75mm before the front plate would crack and pentration became far easier. Keep in mind Americans would come in a platoons of 5 Sherman's, and their would be 1 panther most likely if they encountered a tank at all. As for the sides and such, they can Pen them relatively easily. So 75 was really good in most cases and sufficient in most others. Oh and aginst the panzer 4 it was not a contest.
"I ain't gonna cry" Eli, brother, You always make me cry with joy when you have those real moments thanking the community when you literally are bringing us all together
Ok, I always skip inline ads on anyone - except Unsub. The new ads with King Trout are awesome and I will always watch them for their comedic value. Keep it up guys!
The Scandinavian bar code on their ships thing lmfao 😂😂 I think it’s been a long long time since I’ve heard a truly unique dad joke that’s caught me off guard like lmfao
My favorite D-Day story is what Eisenhower did after he gave the order to go. He went to his room and started to read a book and chain-smoke cigarettes, later saying “there was nothing else I could have done after that point. I’ve done everything I can” (or something along those lines.)
Not to mention the horrific letter he had in his tunic pocket... the one that told the world that the invasion had failed and had been pushed back into the sea... a real fear that it would be Dunkirk but at ten times the scale, sunken allied ships littering the sea floor with Europe lost forever to Nazism.
Probably chain smoking cigs to help calm himself. A good leader just had to send so many of his men into something he knows full well is a damned meat grinder and he knows that because of all the effort put into making it less awful. Now all he can do is sit there and know that some large but currently unknown number of those kids are never seeing their parents, wives, or children again.
Ryden really seems like such a good kid, it was so heartwarming to see how excited he got, and for some reason I KNEW he was gonna want to read EVERY single comment lol, which is why I made sure to put extra effort into mine, hope I made him smile.
1:48:25 same thing happened in rugby league here in Australia. They banned fighting because it was a bad look for the game. Well the halfback (rugby leagues version of quarterback) now endures dirty play far more. A bunch of guys who couldn’t punch the fuzz off a peach, are now pushing and shoving. And the game in general has suffered because of it. Where as back in the day no one would touch Alfie langer because Gordon Tallis was a volcano looking for a reason. No one would touch Andrew johns because Paul Harrigon was a psycho that didn’t want a piece he wanted all of it. Now it’s just push and shove.
“Daddy’s getting DRUNK” I said this to my wife tonight… I never call myself daddy, I’ve never heard her call me daddy, but I’m drunk as FR*CK and it made me laugh… Guess what? I’m drunk on gentleman Jack and (technically K-cola, not coke, but still, same idea) Ok anyways love y’all lol
26:35 most footage from D-day was accidentally dropped in the water while returning to the ships from the beach. We literally had multi angle documentations of Omaha, Utah, sword and Juno and the journalists dropped it in the water.
I truly hope your situation improves. I've been roughing it and hiking for the last four years. Understand the struggle. Just know that there is people who care and believe in you. ❤
I grew up in the Appalachian part of Kentucky “The hills and hollers” And 90% percent of us would welcome anyone in! There are Racism in every state, But I can speak for us. If you’re starving we will feed you and send you on your way. Try anything nefarious, Then you should be afraid of the same hills and Hollars .
Ngl that opening clip almost made me cry. My nephew is autistic, thankfully verbal - and it makes me so fucking happy to see a community come together to make sure these children are not gonna be left behind. I love you guys, thank you for being good human beings. Okay, now I'm crying.
I love how all of you are like “you can bully us, but if you bully Wendigoon, we will find you.” Shows how loved this guy is not only by you but everyone on the internet
@elidoubletap As an autistic man (fully functional not a helmet wearer thankfully) living in the Uk, you and the boys are such a joy to watch. I’ve been watching your guests since the early RU-vid days and just sponging up that shit. Imagine being autistically interested in a subject that you’re required to have a licence for just a fork. If you’re R passes ever run out I’ll see if I can get you all some internationally sanctioned ones. Keep up the hard work and the darkest of humour. Love from a gushing fanboy
@ appox 39mins; Nick, you forgot to mention that the USSR was allowing Germany to train their troops and manufacture war materials in Soviet territory Before the war ever started.
