The fact that Jay didn’t even hesitate when he saw lily, even if he was talking crap at the moment he just loves her at the moment, they all immediately accepted Lily.
Phil’s creepy crush on Gloria was totally unnecessary and did not line up at all with the innocent, endearing nature of his character that was established so well.
The camera work on this show is simply masterful.. really makes you feel like you are in the room with them with the unsteady zoom ins on the characters while they talk simulating your focus.
@@felipepineda1585 he thinks she wont be able to say an american name since she is asian but obviously babies get their language skills from their environment and not from their genetics
@@felipepineda1585 it's is a common rumor that Asian people are struggling to pronounce certain words and letters. For example I heard that they find it hard to pronounce the letter "R" maybe it's the same for "L" since there are 3 L's in Lilly, but I dunno. But since baybs learn from their parents their language and maybe accent the joke was here that Lilly would have problems to spell her name cause she's Asian while in fact she will learn it from Mitch and Cam. Greetings from Germany 😂🇩🇪🙋♀️
Honestly that explains why Claire hates Gloria in the early seasons. Phil makes no effort to hide his crush on her and it’s honestly horrible of him. Thank goodness that whole side plot went away in the later seasons.
I agree, Mitch and Jay’s relationship was one of the best in the show for how far they both came as father-son. On the other hand, I’m just about finished the show, almost done with season 10, and I feel that there are so many relationships that weren’t explored as much or that got taken away like they never existed or mattered: For example, the whole family, except for Mitch and Cam hardly interacted or had much of a relationship with Lily in the later seasons as she grew up, even Gloria and from the very beginning here up to season 4/5, Gloria would have gone to the ends of the world for Lily; Gloria was even overjoyed to take care of her if something happened to Mitch and Cam.
He thought it was just an idea being discussed and his opinion was being asked. When he realized he was wrong, he admitted it. That's really all you can ask for from family.
@@kyleellis1825 So true . His intentions were good and that you could have done better line is so classic post breakup line . That's what I love about this family . They are not perfect they make rly big mistakes but they truly love each other and know when to confront and when to let go and also when to apologise whether its to someone older or younger than them .
Well what else could she do? Baby is already here not like they could talk them out of it now. All you could do is support. And tbh they both weren’t good parents so she had a point
@@ratkingwastaken Jay was being homophobic. She was just saying Mitchell is uptight (true) & being a sibling, not knowing they adopted. Two separate things-
I didnt fully watch it but till somewhere in season 2. Spoiler alert!! What surprises me is although haley is shown as a girl who dates with so many boys, she ends up marrying with her first boyfriend.
Phil:what a beautiful drez Gloria:thank u!Phil..... Phil:(thought she says 'feel' n ends up touching it)😂😂 Claire:smacks his hands away explaining..! Oh God!!!can't stop laughing 😂😂 love phil's innocense soo much 😁👍
It's a joke on how Caucasian Americans struggle to say Asian names correctly. He's basically asking what if it's the other way around. Plus, he's also suggesting that English isn't her first language since she has spent most of her life so far in Vietnam.
I feel the same way. Especially because this is where Lily was introduced to everyone and they all instantly fell in love and welcomed her as family with open arms. ❤ And then in the last couple of seasons to the end, the more Lily grew up, everyone except Cam and Mitchell hardly interacted with her and it was like all their relationships with her hardly existed or mattered. 💔 Especially Gloria, she was so overjoyed meeting her here and up until season 5 maybe 6, she loved and cared about Lily dearly. Gloria was even willing to accept custody of Lily if something happened to Mitch and Cam.
As we learn when Gloria is pregnant, Jay believes a child needs a mother because he was a neglectful father who left Deedee to do all the work because “she was better at it”.
Does anyone wonder who turn on the spotlight on lili. Did cam had like lights go on ay somepoint? Nonetheless, i want to introduce my son or daughter that way.
I worked on the pilot and Season 1. In prep on the pilot, the writers wanted some reactions, so I got to sit-in on the read-thru with the whole cast. When this line came up, I lost my $hit and couldn't breathe. Phil, "Lily, isn't that going to be hard for her to say?". I recall one of the writers say, "I guess we'll leave that line in". I laughed even harder.
