The actual structure of this is as follows. Regular army, reserves, guard units, and then, what most of us are, the unorganized militia. The command structure remains the same for all of the above, excepting people in active federal service. Your governor in your state is your COC. If it gets to the point where we, the militia, are actively engaging people who pose a threat to us, I am reasonably certain that a lot of, if not all of, the governors of the several states will not only call you up, but support you in any way they possibly can. There will be officers appointed over you. Training is right. Maintaining kit is right. Being in shape is for your own good. The only people trying to convince us we're not right about this are burning down cities, shooting kids, and trying to clean out the government coffers. America is awake.
Personally I can't think of any active governor I would trust or that I would give permission to lead me, they all seem to be part of the problem so that's something that's going to get interesting I'm sure there's outlier's that might be good people but I'm not taking orders from them in general

The logistics of feeding the war machine is beyond the capabilities of anyone not the government...in my opinion. Best to try and make things right before it comes to this. I'm not saying don't train and stay fit.
