Doesn't matter. Most country doesn't have the money anymore. When they were originally made resources, human workforce were much cheaper, and it was also goverment payed, no guarantee, no high standarts with low pay. The golden age that we had in the 70-80ies. That's when a lot of road were made. In my country we have roads from village to village, and there is one at every spit. At some places they just throw a piece of wood into the pothole, because you cannot fix it. Give it 2-3 months and it will come out again. For remaking the road or such, there is just no money.

ARNO meesters Russia is in Europe and so are we in Britain I know exactly how people dress when digging a road and most but not all wear safety clothing but as pointed out in other comments not all these videos depicting badly organised road workers are in Russia. I have seen road workers all across Europe including Russia and some of the worst equipped where in countries like Greece and Bulgaria who are members of the EU.

Actually, we use bricks to slow down traffic. It works better than just traffic signs, because you really don't want to speed through there. A well maintained brick road isn't an awful experience, but I guess the brick roads aren't that well done around where you are.

Nah, in the most part of Russia weather in the summer is good enough to make a proper road. There are some arias where it is harder then usual due to the geological conditions (permafrost), but it is still possible. Bloody cold is in Yakutia (Sakha), in other parts of Russia it is not that cold (the feel, not degrees), because the air is rather dry, therefore the thermal conductivity of it is lower than in Europe.

Allard. We have the industry, we could do it, but we won't and probably never will. First of all, half of these machines were more expensive than calling a brigade to build. Second, they are very constricted. Half the times you can't use any of these machines. There isn't enough place for it, or it's just not good in urban area. Third, Europe and it's roads are very old. Under these roads we have old cobblestones, wood bricks, bricks or very old concrete. Also, Europe tries to build so it would last forever. A lot seen in this video will not last for long.

MamboJambo. It's also exchanging ideas and information. Mind you it's not only using and buying these machines that's important. But also developing markets, technics and making these machines means jobs and economic grow.

The purpose of jobs is to create something for civilization that is useful. Not just jobs to create jobs. Otherwise the marketing circle doesn't close and the faked economy will fall sooner or later. People/businesses should make things where the market asks for.
