Since the Taekwondo rules changed with the use of electronic protectors, it changes the way to compete and train. The boring taekwondo is not because coaches and athletes, the WTF made the rules regulations. Coaches and athletes only look for the most efficient way to win the matches according to the rules and regulations. Best regards to this great Taekwondo community.

I like it. My students need more kicking development in sparring. it is not easy to move the front leg without adequate training.Kicks are more powerful than they appear. BTW, that was Terrrence Jennings, 2012 Olympic medalist.

In my kickboxing gym I had a friend who was in former national TKD team. I have to admit I had height advantage but I had been going to gym like 5-6 months and he could do nothing to me... that sums it up nicely.

Your friend is sorry then a real tkd roundhouse should fold you or ko you I'm a white belt a my mma www.ohdokwan.org by the way a guy named riland kicks are equivalent to that of a baseball bat he kicks you full force in your chest you're folding like a chair in because I spar with him

Sobre Taekwondo I love Taekwondo and I love teaching it. I work for a school and we do focus a bit on the WTF sparring way, but the majority of our training is reality based. As in, what is best for defensive technique in a fight. Do you ever teach like this? (I do not think my way is the only and best way). Why do is it that you prefer to only teach tournament style even if it does not help in fighting? (Again, I do not think your wrong or bad for doing so. I only wish to better myself as a teacher).

sikkony Exactly. And as a self defense tool it's ineffective. I dread what Karate is going to look like in the next Olympics and the impression that it will propagate. Got to keep it real and keep training the traditional way.

Sport ok to that. Leg up. But in real combat i kick the leg itself when its up like that. Inner or outer leg very open. It should only be used for sport or balance drills.
@williambeck6575

@luisa146
@luisa146 6 лет назад
When the opponent goes front leg up all the time, you can push his leg down with your front leg and go with a back leg roundhouse, I never tried it but I saw my coach doing it
@respectfullearningquest5672
@respectfullearningquest5672 6 лет назад
Lowlandweller _ correct, you can also push kick it farther up, to make them lose balance or again kick the bottom of thigh upward. As you catch. If leg brought in kick other leg quickly and spin opponent to kick the back of opponent. Ive used these in actual fights not sport, so these techniques do work. Sometimes ive spun around on caught leg with a sweep, and changing hands .it just depends on ground, number of opponents, hieght, speed, strength, and skill of opponent(s).
@respectfullearningquest5672
@respectfullearningquest5672 6 лет назад
Lowlandweller _ almost left one out, you can also use a mount type spin kick over, leading with a folded knee. Hooking leg with your own inner, foot exposing opponents rear head, for kick. This type combat kick is a sacrifice kick, it will make you lose balance but if done right will knock out opponent. Ive learned to connect head with opposite leg and quickly afterwards unfold leg to bring my balance before landing on ground.

taekwondo isnt really for self defense lol. if u try to kick then u fall u are just dead. probably for use taekwondo outside u need about 10 years of consecutive train, and maybe could be usefull on 1v1. all these forward leg kicks, are just for sport, is the modern meta and is terrible to see people that wins fights, just with forward leg...

I signed up to a tkd class in my city because i want to perfect my kicking technique and skills, but the training looks really similar to this and even the teacher himself (he's a IV dan black belt tho) makes it sound more like a sport and not like combat.. Could you explain to me why the type of training we see in this video is not good even if it's for beginners? Thanks a lot
@amanilee7708
@amanilee7708 4 года назад
@@francometallo215 there is no power generation in those kicks, it is also more strenuous on your hips to twist and bounce that way. Also there is less emphasis on effective pushing kicks . What this is good for is teaching targeting, reaction speed, and jabs

¡Lamentable!

Cordial saludo.
