ALG or Tapco trigger. Ultimak gas tube. Magpul furniture. Sling, light & red dot. ( A brace & blast can, if your a Draco owner.) Maybe a retaining plate, if ya want too. Thanks for the share!!
I love quad rails on my ARs lol. And I started out with mloks and troy alpha rails on my first setups. DDM4 10.0 is my favorite rail at the moment. Super sturdy and not much heavier than my old mlok rail.
Personally I think I’ll stick with the side rail mount for optics, adding a rail up front just is making it heavier, especially with that big of a rail
Those rails are lighter than you’d think because the materials used, but either way your adding weight. The question is do you wanna add weight for a optic or for an optic and the ability to add lights, vfg, etc. I personally think a mlok handguards are the way to go but it can be a drop in not a long one like this. They allow you to add much more and are more cost effective than a rs regulate. They do weigh ounce more than the rs regulate but right around the same weight of a Midwest industries side rail. I personably wouldn’t mine having an Ak in every configuration
Side mount is far superior. 1. It offers return to zero 2. It keeps the weight towards the back 3. If you get the right mount and dot you can get a lower 1/3 co witness
@@HookLine48 mounting forward stays zerod since it does need to be removed for field strip, and depending on the setup you can cowitness the only benefit to side mount is keeping weight in the back. But either way you are adding weight for just a optic. Mlok guards or picatinny gas’s blocks allow for optics and other accessories. There is not one best option however I strongly believe mlok guards is the most versatile and cost affective. The side mount is the most nostalgic and keeps weight in the back but doesn’t provide other benefits that you listed, since other mounts can do the same things
Neither is superior.... get what works for you. I recommend people wanting as many options as possible to go mlok guard so they can mount optics lights lazers vfgs or whatever else. They are a little heavier and weight further forward compare to side mount so exaggerated weight but are hands down the most versatile. The main time I would recommend a side mount is when they don’t care about lights and other accessories, going as lightweight as possible, wanting a classic look, or using magnified optics.
Honestly if I bought an AK I would keep it as stock as possible with wood furniture. There’s so many better designs to be a main fighting rifle that don’t need as much modification. Love the AK. Great video.
It’s an over priced ak, you get better value just modernizing the ak. Not to mention the ace isn’t a true Ak. At least a real Ak takes Ak parts so easier to find than galil ace parts.
I love my Zpap M70 but the aftermarket support for it is worse then lackluster. I've contemplated trading it for a Russian pattern AK just so I have some decent options.
@@InkwellFoto absolutely, the Gucci AK market is a fickle bitch. But when you look at a base model rifle dynamics being almost 5k and what you get in comparison, it’s actually a deal lol
How's your eye relief with the ACOG? I had to use a Vortex Cantilever mount mounted backwards to get proper eye relief with a 1-6 scope using this rail.
