I would love if you review the B and O H95. I think these are some of the best Bluetooth headphones that money can buy. And they're on par with most white headphones that are twice the price.
Yes Zeos did message me to come up to his room at CAF 2022. I had just sat down to listen to Black Ice equipment, I left went up to Zeos’ room, I didn’t even need to hear a whole track and was simply amazed. My pair is at the end of the viseo. These headphones are so good I almost don't even care about other headphones anymore. These aren't giant killer headphones, these are god slayer headphones.

Folks, this is 3 months old. There is a double magnet version that is easier to drive. Also, the MASS Kobo 465 exists that makes everything sound it's best. He just recorded that video and hoping it will be released to his Paetreon soon.
I’m super excited to hear the Tungsten. I missed out on them at CanJam, but I did hear the Subtonic Storm and the HE-1, and I felt the Storm was as close as anything came to an HE-1, maybe better.

23:49 ..I believe in amplification!! I just put my Sen’s 650’s onto a Bryston BHA-1 headphone/ preamplifier…and it truly does make it into something special. These Tungsten..hard to dive ..but you sing their praises. Now I do hope your collaboration comes damn close!
I have Serial Number 3, driver 9.2. They are exquisite. Regarding the power, Folkvangr drives them at 95% high gain but it might be touch and go, no real headroom. Jotunheim 2 drives them fine with plenty of headroom on high gain, noon or 1 o'clock. The XDuoo XD-05+ portable drives them at around 3 o'clock with some spare headroom. We'll see how it goes with Mjolnir 3 once mine gets to Ryan this week, but I'm guessing it'll be fine. The custom Cerakote colors are great. Comfort top notch. They take EQ well (I like a touch more bass). #TeamNotchedRods

Glad I got my order in on Friday morning (single-sided) - was sold out within 15 minutes. I will run them through a Burson Soloists 3x - max 8 watts BUT 28 Volts on high gain, balanced! Gustard A26 DAC.

They say the Burson Soloist 3x GT can power anything. Lets see shall we? Going to be sitting at my computer hitting F5. Even considering the shipping an import duties, these are cheaper than what I was going to get which was the DCA E3's. Completely different headphone I know, but let me worry about that.
Really excited for custom color options, I already have something in mind. If the audio quality is as good as you say it is Z, I'm now considering this as my next headphone purchase, or one of them.

I used to think cables are a snake oil salesman extra. I have a set of HD600s that I bought back in 1999. My favorite cable that I used on them were some Oyaide Silver cables that I got from their shop in Akihabara. I recently got the D8000 pro LE that have the crazy looking long silver xlr cables. The silver cable does something better that the shorter one with a 4.4 termination. I also got a 4.4 to xlr adapter to test out the cables coming out of the Ferrum Oor / Hypsos. I am looking forward to listening to the Tungstens. I got my tickets for the SoCal Can Jam and hope to hear them. Thanks for making a video on them.
A lot less than what I was expecting for price for what Z is saying for sound and general quality. I'm still considering other companies, for example Abyss, because they're coming out with closed-back variants, but this has sparked my attention.
To me the looks alone, the Tungsten SS reminds me of a HiFiMAN Sundara with purple 3D sides screwed on. You do know that you made this video .. _Public?!_
After six months, (I placed an order on December 23, 2023), I received my SS Tungsten on June 18th, 2024. I have been burning them in for about 80 hours as of this writing - and listening to them too. My chain: Gustard A26 DAC Burson Soloists 3XP with Supercharger 3A and the new V7 opamps. Balanced inputs and balanced outputs Other headphones I use on this setup: • Meze Empyrean, Hifiman HE1000 v2, DCA Aeon Closed X, AKG k702 (modified) (Austria edition) I have over 8,000 songs in FLAC format. • Jazz, soundtracks, classical, house, hip-hop, reggae, beatless, lounge, rock, world, R&B, et, et, pretty much everything except K-pop & country. Impressions: • Driving the Tungsten is not an issue with my setup. Of all the headphones I’ve tried, the Tungsten is the only pair I had to use high-gain. I’ve been comfortably listening at levels between 40 and 70 out of a max level of 99 on the Burson. Yes, this is a lot of power/voltage. • The sound is balanced and musical. Extremely enjoyable. They sound more realistic than any headphones I’ve heard -> am I listening to live music?? Details stand out. Bass is strong, clean, and impactful. Male and female voices come thru clean and are placed where they should be. Separation is great. Details shine. • Every genre sounds great. These are extremely enjoyable and comfortable to listen to. • I could not be more happy considering the value-to-performance and FUN the Tungsten (combined with the Burson and Gustard) offers.

VERY intested in picking up a pair of these (after a long wait most likely lmao) since I'm a sucker for passion projects like this over buying stuff from bigger companies. My current amp is the ifi pro ican signature and its a pretty beefy boy when it comes to power and volume, can that drive these okay ythink?
What is important for driving the Tungsten is VOLTS vs watts. The Burson Soloist 3X (which I own), has 28 Volts on high gain. An amp with at least 20 volts will drive Tugnsten well. Also, my DAC puts out 5 volts - make sure your DAC puts out at least 4 volts or more for best results.
Violectric released a limited edition 100 unit run this year of their ”legendary” out of production V281 amps. I’m guessing it’s a good fit? (Asking because I have their previous ”final edition”, which turned out to not be so final, but I’m curious about these headphones…)
Heard both the V222 and V550 drives it quite well due to the higher gain / voltage than the typical headphone amp. Would think the V281 would be the same but don't recall someone mentioning that amp specifically.
What are your thoughts on the xDuoo TA-22 pairing with this headphone? I’m not a new audiophilier perse, though I’m not entirely knowledgable on how to interpret the specifications of the AMP and Headphone to understand whether or not they would be a good fit. I bought the TA-22 as it’s dipping my toes into the Tube amp world and was going to test it with my LCD-X and reshelled HA-FW10000s. Any helpful reading material would be appreciated too. Have you tried the Tungsten with the Fiio K9 Pro ESS (or did you already sell the one your reviewed)? Resolve stated this DAC/Amp should work fine. I have the K9 Pro and just ordered the Tungsten SS but now I'm out of funds...
i have an ab1266 with a holo stack and yesterday i listend to my gf's magni unity with hd6xx and i laughed. Not because of some pompous superiority audiophile money slap in face reason but because i was releived that im in this for the music not the gear bc that sounded great and im considering selling some things now. so hearing that these exist i may consider since they arent a fucking house payment and they sound great
Wondering if Aune S17 Pro powers them and whether it is a good match? Also, at the end of the vid the Burson (Soloist 3XP?) drives the 9.2 revision but does it simply get them loud enough or does it really get them rock all out? I have the Burson but need to know if I can get the most out of Tungsten with it. Working on simplifying my set up, I'd rather not having to add more electronics.
He actually tries the Tungsten in his Aune S17 Pro review. You can go check that review out. He says that they don't drive them well, unfortunately. It would be great tho as a Class A amp if they could...
@@Fiterfull Really? try checking the RU-vid transcript from the 29:30 point, he says the Aune can run the Tungstens to a loud level but at only 80% of their capacity. In his video review of the Aune S17. At almost 0.3W at 90ohm according to the S17 spec sheet, It should comfortably run the Tungstens at 100dB, but things get complicated with music with a higher dynamic range with many transients, like well-mastered music, it might clip. I recommend just going for the Violectric V222 or the FLUX FA-10 for less than $1400 with a balanced DAC that outputs 4V like the SMSL DL300, Topping, or Schiit...
@@ndgr8claymore Nevermind, I found it, it was at 25:30, not 29:30. DS should be a little easier to drive. And where do you see 0.3W at 90ohms? The spec sheet for the Aune S17 Pro says 1.8W at 150ohms and the Tungsten DS is 155ohms.
Yeah found that bit about Tungsten+S17 on his other vid. There's someone selling used V222 locally and wondering if I should snatch that even when I don't have the Tungsten yet. Or maybe I shouldn't since I already have the Soloist 3XP and the BasX A-100, maybe these will be good enough?.
Have you tried the Topping DX9 the new one with these tungstens? I would love to know if anyone has tried them I put my order in for these and have the dx9 and a70 already I just want to know how they sound on the dx9.. Id image if they are good on the a70 then the single sided ones should be just as good on my dx9?

Is there a reason why people don't talk about using the front headphone jacks on vintage receivers? I'm using a 45 w/channel Yamaha 2 channel receiver from the 90s and so far it's beat every other headphone source I've ever tried.
well if you need a super compact dac/amp with OODLES of power to push. Id be surprised if there's better. Do make sure to do a head to head comparison on the power output between those two i suggested because im not sure myself. but from my experience with users, they both push crazy power. if you have enough space, you can also get the jdslabs element III boosted. thats my personal recommendation and you can request they make it with a balanced 4.4 input plus engraving@@frankpereyda1106 corpella a bit below tho says otherwise. again i do not know. RESEARCH
if you would like to listen for slam qualities then just stream songs by Stevie Ray Vaughan... put a little EQ on the bottom end and be prepared to listen for a few hours.... enjoy.. and Merry Xmas
@@SmashedITR Sure, but all the amps Zeos has tried are very similar to driving Sus. The double will be better, but even then it's a maybe. Will you get 100% out of them? I can run my Sus and get Arya level of performance. Good, you bet, but not all that it could be.
Probably not. Even tho the boosted has more power, you need a lot of voltage which the boosted does still not provide. IIRC something around 20 VRMS are recommended for them and the Boosted only delivers 9.3 or so
It's different than the Susvara's and not necessarily always harder to drive in that there are several amps at lower price points that will drive the Tungstens better than the Susvaras. For example, even my Fiio M17 will drive the DS Tungstens surprisingly well. On the other hand, there are also some high end amps optimized for Susvaras that lack the voltage and gain requirements to really drive the Tungstens adequately.
Have both the LCD-X and double sided variant of the Tungstens. To my ears there really is no comparison - the Tungstens are just in another tier up entirely.
hope this is not another zeus elite type of hype. needing a new amplifier is also something that negates the low cost of purchase along with availability and wait time

I own a Tungsten DS and I’d say it performs better on my current chain of Bliss/May and various upgrades than my Susvara. And that’s even under powered. The Bliss could use a bit more voltage somewhere to get them to the ideal state. But even at under 100 percent of power it is blowing my mind with my favorite tracks and even anything else.
@Corporalis by that logic, the Susvara can be driven by the A70 pro, but that doesn't mean you are getting the sound quality that the headphone is capable of.
@@Leon-lg7zm yes that means that the A70 can drive the Susvara , so I don’t really know what’s wrong with this „logic“ lol. Also Zeos recommended the A70 as an amp for the tungsten and even the fosi V3 which is 100$
@Corporalis just because you get enough volume doesn't mean that the sound quality is good, that's my point. Susvara needs something like an Enlyum R23 to run it's best.
@@Leon-lg7zm Tbh I am not willing to pay 8k upwards for an Amp or Dac and while I never tried one I strongly believe that the sound quality will never be so much better (if any) to justify it over some other amps. And if the A70 drives the Tungsten (which is Voltage dependent not Wattage) and someone like Zeos recommends it, then Ill call it a day.
Amir reviewed a Susvara recently and came up with bad conclusions and bad testing. He can’t do the Tungsten justice. That being said I’ve seen the frequency graph for the Tungsten’s and they are pretty linear to one of the Harman curves.
Not to piss on your review but until we see a proper real review this has been all type. Unfortunately by that time Ryan will be overwhelmed with orders and the wait times with be obscenely long. And people in this hobby have no patience and something else flavour of the month headphone, dad, amp speaker will come along and these will be forgotten. Still a lot of $$# for us schmoes to give away for something without a proper review . That said I feel sorry for Ryan and his waiting list:(
I mean I'm going to do another review of the double-sided. Maybe that'll be the Real review? I think four months behind a paywall is it long enough time. And he's been selling the headphone sporadically with weekly drops to the public. Not to mention the side run going specifically to mimic.
Many headphones and products by do seem to enter a hype cycle. This is one of the few products where the hype is real. I have the Tungsten DS and it is like a bit of Susvara, a bit of AB1266, a bit of LCD-5, basically all the good attributes of these TOTL headphones into a 1500-2100 package. I own a pair of Susvaras and while the Susvara is still an amazing headphone, the Tungsten is what a fun version of Susvara should sound like while still keeping most of its technicalities. I hear stuff from my Tungsten’s that the Susvara doesn’t suss out. It’s that good. But you do need a good amp.
@@dudexyt by ds you mean the double sided magnet edition ? I didn't k ow he had that available yet. How much more efficient is it vs the single sided version? How much better is it that the single sided mag at version? One thing in all this hope is having the proper amp to run these is not $$$. Yes you might get by with the low big at recommendations but your in no way getting the potential of them. Same goes for any of those flagship models you mentioned. Lesser cheaper amps just don't cut it. And to make it even more fun and frustrating some are amp and source picky . I bit the bullet a while back and got a pair of lcd 4 to try but have been underwhelmed because I haven't been able to drive them properly and that wasn't $$$ and still probably not getting the most out of them. Same goes for any of Ryan's new modhouse creations. I still want to read more opinions of the single and double sided magnet editions before I get a good enough but feeling to purchase a pair . @@brandonburr4900 yes, double sided magnets version. DS is a bit more neutral and resolving while SS has more engaging bass/midrange. While I do own a Bliss which is not inexpensive, I am looking for an inexpensive amp to use to power the Tungsten with a Bliss as a pre. Check the used market for amps. There are some great deals right now due to the economy ( mostly affecting upper income people).
