Being born poor financially or mentally is not your fault, but dying poor mentally and financially is your fault. Government providing free food / education / allowance for poor unemployed should be considered as alms or facilitation. Farmers demanding MSP for produce will lead other sections demanding MSP for other services.

My brother was running a restaurant succesfully. But after demonetisation his business suffered loss and never recovered. 4 months ago he closed down the restaurant with huge debt.

The problem is that majority of voters are unable to judge on the basis of objectivity but fall for 5th largest economy like propoganda which has nothing to do with economic improvement of their lives. Additionally about a quarter of the population is illiterate and 3 quarters of the population are Hindus who to a large extent think it is absolutely their victory to spread Hinduvtwa.
In the first past the post system, you require only 35% fools. The rest can be rational, but make little impact, because rational people have divergent views on politics, unlike indoctrinated fools.
The very poor in our country are getting more poorer, day by day..... "Garibi hatao" first... which started 25 years ago, is very important... Half our citizens are able to take just one full meal only. In the past 10 - 15 years, rising prices everywhere, makes it very difficult for the common man's living. . . The present government and the opposition, together, should civilize, unite with each other and clean all the mess inside our country first, ..... most important to make unity & peace between religions..... instead of wasting public monies touring the world and fighting for elections... Lord Ram will be so happy too..... Journalists, media, CJI, ASI, ED etc. should be debating about such issues.. It's a pity most of them are one sided, who do not care for the "very important issues inside our country" !

With EVM, voting them out is not an option. My missus is working in the villages of Hindi heartland for an NGO and the mood has turned anti-BJP among villagers, but still BJP is wining. How? Last election, not even BJP believed they would win MP. In tribal heavy Chhattisgarh, BJP is not popular. Still somehow, they got 2--3% more vote share and wins. At this stage, my friend circle, from being 80% BJP supporters and Modi Bhakts, have become 60% BJP critics. Still BJP winning. How?

It was excellent you compared the prices of essentials between Nov ‘23 and now and you explained clearly falling inflation is only rate of price increase and not reduction in prices. Why I say this excellent not because it is intellectually enlightening, in fact it is very direct and very basic, but because such a simple narrative with facts only can shake the masters of this ruling dispensation provided this becomes narrative of the masses. Lot of work needs to be done in identifying such facts and making it the narrative of the masses. If one wants to achieve the objective of denting the prospects of ruling party coming back to power again. Apart from this specific section of the conversation, it has become like another conversation between arm chair thinkers and intellectuals. I like it, I get enlightened but my enlightenment alone will not lead to mass movement. You know the number and type of viewers of this discussion and their ability to influence change.
What is wrong in giving free food grains to weaker sections? It is better than food grains rotting in godowns of FCI. Even the courts had suggested this. Subsidies and incentives are provided to the corporate sector. Similarly this facility is provided to the common man. This should be welcome. The result is seen expenditure surveys of rural sector. There are spending the amount thus saved on other FMCG items.
In the Global Poverty Index, India is 111 while China 5. It means that there are 110 countries with less poverty than India. Giving ration only to citizens is the worst thing a country can do for its citizens.
Had it been UPA not sure how many of those 82 crores would have made through tough times during COVID. My guess is not many. Hence no one to cry about. Personally I know so many people who were helped by ration help.
There is never a debate on WIRE why farmers get subsidized power, fertilizers, subsidized creditnot to mention say their income is not taxable. Just because they provide food does not make their cause noble, Do doctors , lawyers, nurses ets make such ridiculous demands

I can only suggest that the figures being mentioned in crores and lakhs be also mentioned in millions simultaneously whilst also mentioning the population figures of major countries, etc, for comparison in order to give a better and more accurate perspective. The simple arithmetic: 5kg grains (@Rs.20/kg) = Rs.100 per person per month ; or Rs.1200 per year. So 5 years = Rs.6000 per person. Yet, Modi govt has made each person (per capita) be sunk in debt by an additional Rs.69,000 over the period 2014-2023. What kind of benevolence is this? Adani alone got Rs.72,000 cr waver in 2017 80 crore people will need Rs.1200 x 80 crore = Rs.96,000 crore (say Rs.1 Lakh crore) per year.

Mr Prabhakar has been persuasive in his criticism of Modi and the BJP. His arguments would perhaps appeal to the intelligent, open-minded people who are in a minority right now. What is odd is that Dr. Parakala has apparently failed to convince even his wife about the validity of his well- reasoed expose of the Modi govt. If only he could prevail on his wife to resign her ministership, it will have a devastating effect on Modi.
