I’ve actually fitted the Skoda washer cap and turns into funnel today on my Golf! Really nice little mod that and I don’t have to keep spilling it while filling the washer fluid up!😊
Ive got a 2011 freelander 2 sport LE, UK model. Its got some sort of cold climate pack on with heated front screen etc plus Its got a diesel fired heater, Its not remote control etc but once the temp gets below 6 degrees it runs when the car is running. Within minutes the air through the vents is toasty even though the Engine temp still hasnt moved off the bottom of the gauge.
Sounds like some of the top spec models have a webasto configured as a booster heater to help things warm up when started during cold weather. This is common on the ex demonstrator vehicles which had all the optional goodies fitted to show them off. The standard cold climate pack (which I have) includes heated seats, mirrors, heated washers etc. The heated screen is fitted to all models as far as I know.
@@BeavisPits I only found out about it last winter after I had it Waxoyled, they must have sprayed the heater with it and when it heated up I thought the car was on fire with the smell coming off it, I nearly shit myself, pulled over on the side of the road, lifted the bonnet and the Engine looked fine, the smell coming from the drivers side vent where the side repeater is, I didnt know what the hell was going on ha ha
I bought mine years ago on eBay. I don’t think the seller is trading anymore but I found this one on Amazon by MaxxHaul which looks similar… www.amazon.co.uk/MaxxHaul-70115-Steel-Rack-150-Capacity/dp/B073G49NPV/ref=asc_df_B073G49NPV/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=500749924512&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18382123156391983543&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045743&hvtargid=pla-569747249443&psc=1&mcid=14ac0af5e86d3500bdab4a32ba683a98&th=1&psc=1
Very nice indeed, but..... where's the raised air intake aka snorkel??? I watched all your 3 videos and was waiting just for the final fitting video...
Thanks for sharing your modified FL2! Looks great. It would be really helpfull if you could share a link where you bought the fastening points to secure the roof rack. I've got the same roofbars, and a similar roofrack. I will check your website aswell!
Hi great vid I'm getting the tyres ASAP as I have a puncture but having trouble getting the proper spacers in time would it be possible to get my tyres fitted and add the spacers next week or do you think that would be too risky .? Thanks again for your vids there great
Hi John, I’ve not tried fitting mine without the wheel spacers, but I have heard of others doing it. The gap between the tyre inside wall and the shock tube will be quite narrow, only around 10mm or so. The concern is that a stone could get caught and damage the tyre.
Hi i HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 2009 FREELANDER 2, unfortunatly it didnt have a Manual with it and I am wondering what the large round silver circle is for which is located just forward of the gearstick on the Auto model it turns but dosent seem to do anything , sorry if this sounds a lil vague , Regards Frank
The suspension has lift spacers fitted above the shock absorbers. This pushes the wheels down, lifting up the car. The tyres are BF Goodrich KO2 245/70R17
Interested in how your snorkel project progress'. Am currently looking at getting one from the guys in Brazil but I'd sooner get one from you if your planning to produce them. Also, have looked for those arm rests everywhere.
Hi! Federico from Italy. Can you write here what kind of tyre and the measures you use. Do you know if there is some kind of off-road iron rim we can mount on freelander 2?
If you want the video, I say the tyre make/size. Only steel wheels I know are the spare wheel, but not really for regular use on or off road. I’m sure you can find other makes of car which have steels with the same PCD.
Just found your channel mate ! Great work. I’m thinking of selling my disco 3 to get a FL2… got to say I love them in grey !. Also seen your lift spacers .. do they make the ride any more or less comfortable would you say ? Thanks
Thanks Richard! The lift spacers are very firm rubber so don’t change the spring rate or damping effect. The ride is higher, but comfort should remain the same.
Hi... I am in Oman and I have LR2 HSE i6 car. I also want to modify it. Your car looks very cool. You have any reference here.. ?? Or pls suggest what to do for modifications.?
Hello Beavis! Great video and great looking car! Could you please tell me where did you buy the door scratch guard? I had a look on eBay but they seem to have only the chrome ones.
Not for a few months. If you’re on facebook or instagram then follow Beavis Pits, I posted a few posts saying last few spacers remaining so be quick if want some. Sorry, but now they have all gone.
Love your fl2, very nice mods. These tyres are awesome, how do they behave on tarmac?. Also interested in your future light bar install. I've always fancied one on the roof, even if it's just to see the hyper drive effect 🤣👍. Great vids mate, thanks.
Can you recommend a decent full-beam headlight as when I drive at night on full beam it lights up in front of the car but no distance, I've got a Freelander 2
@@BeavisPits Hi, you have done a brilliant job with your car! Unfortunately the links are obsolete. Can you please tell me what make is the roof rack or where can i find one ? Thank you!
Hi, i love your videos they have helped me a great deal , so thank you for that, could you point me in the right direction to purchase and fit a driver seat heat pad for my 2012 freelander please.
Probably not as often as I should. I do check the spacer-to-hub nuts occasionally when I have the wheels off. I check the spacer-to-wheel nuts more often, usually before a long journey.
Spot on about cheap wheel spacers there mate. When I bought my FL2, the previous owner had fitted some cheap 25mm spacers. I got vibration and steering wheel judder on the motorway, had the wheels aligned and balanced, still had the vibration. I removed the spacers, and it was like a new car. Couldn't believe the difference. The spacers I took off didn't even have a brand on them... Just generic. Crazy to trust your life with such cheap crap.
Great video dude! Can you help me find the right spacers you mentioned? On a side note, you should stock all of these bits on your website! I would've brought a few bits from you! haha
@@BeavisPits hi mate, the wheel spacers. I had a quick look on the h and r website and there seemed to be a few different ranges. I'm going to do a lift later. I'll certainly be looking at your lift spacers!
I fitted 25mm hubcentric spacers. Not H&R but another high quality British made spacer. Avoid cheap Chinese items as the quality is poor. Also avoid non-hubcentric as they don’t have the locating ring.
Any modification should be declared to your insurers. Whether a suspension lift would increase your premium or not depends on who you’re insured with. Rock sliders are available from MuddyMods. I may fit some in the future.
Any changes such as aftermarket wheels, cone filter, turbo if it doesn’t have one etc needs to be declared to your insurance. If you don’t tell your insurance and then have a crash. The insurance company come and look around the car and find out you got these modifications on you didn’t tell them, you’ll have your policy invalidated and won’t pay you out
Good evening. Great content as always with some fantastic modifications. Can you please tell me where you purchased the SKODA WASHER BOTTLE CAP/FUNNEL please? Looking forward to to the continued great content in 2021. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Alan L200
Hi there, what would be your thoughts on fitting 255/55/r18’s onto my Freelander 2? It seems to be a lot easier to get hold of that size, compared to my current 235/60/r18’s. Ps - just wanted to say a big thank you for your videos, really enjoy them and have already used sone of them to upgrade certain parts on mine.
Thanks Stewart. 255/55 should just about fit but are a little wide for the wheels. May look a bit bulgy at the sides. Wheel spacers may also be required to increase tyre-to-shock clearance.
Hi just found your channel I'm doing up my 07reg freelander 2 2.2 hse diesel can you tell me please how much where your tyres and your pipe work and could do with advice on things to cheers
It is in the video. You have also asked me previously on another video and I gave you the size then. Please look at your comment on my wing air intake removal video.
What modifications would you like to see? Bear in mind that there aren’t many uprated parts available for the FL2, and those that are tend to be cosmetic.
