Cold Process - Heat Transfer Method
Rather than trying to figure out multiple lye/water percentages, I tried a modified version done by Cathy at Soapmaking Essentials. Auntie Clara is renowned for the Ghost Swirl design, but it is widely duplicated. My attempt, though far from perfect, did "work", albeit the color variation is quite subtle, as I added NO COLOR to alter the natural batter. After bringing the batter to a light trace, I divided into 2 equal portions. I then added 5% heavy cream to ONLY one container to create a water amount increase, which is what makes the color difference. I pre warmed my mold in a 170° oven to help with gel phase. After molding, I placed my covered mold in a insulated cooler for 40 minutes, then removed from cooler but left covered and lightly wrapped in a thin towel for 7 hours to prevent it from getting too hot, at which time, it popped right out of the mold.
