Modified Nikko  

Thanks for the comment. This is one of my older modifications but it works decently. Surprisingly the stock suspension isn’t too bad for a toy grade RC. I have an extra Nikko chassis that has better tires so I plan to modify that one and use a brushless motor for hopefully greater speed. So many Rc projects I’d like to do….

The LaTrax motor is the same diameter as the original so it fits well. I only modified the end cap that holds the motor in for the wires. Another suggestion is to use a pinion gear puller tool to remove the original gear. One more thing, I did glue the rear tires to the rims on my version.

Thanks for the comment. I did pick up a few of those sport tuned 380 motors. Unfortunately the gearbox on this one will only accommodate a 370 size motor. However, I’m using one of those 380 motors in a different modification I’m working on now so it will be interesting to see how it performs.

@@2005silver how about Tamiya 370 torque tuned or sport tuned motors that might make it faster.
