When you mentioned Brian Setzer from the Stray Cats bought the Interceptor I couldn’t help but think that Royal Enfield is the great equalizer. Rich guys want them, and poor guys can afford them. What a bike. Wahoo! PS: I used to sing the Stray Cat Strut on karaoke nights. 😎
Yes, you're right. RE is the great equalizer. Baxter's has been around since the 70's and sells many classic/vintage motorcycles. I'm told they have a long & interesting list of unique customers. PS the bike Setzer bought was a RE Continental GT...I put the Zard pipes on it...before he bought it. Beautiful motorcycles. Wahoo!
Nice mellow ride Fuzzy! No need for aftermarket noise. Here in Vegas we have the midnight Yahoo,'s that scream up and down the main roads at 2,3,4 in the morning. Must be traveling 100 miles an hour and in the valley...the sound just echoes....... almost every single night. No need for alarm clocks here. Your roads...EMPTY. Good lord, how sweet that must be. Stay Fresh Fuzzy! We need you!
I'm not an after market exhaust kind of guy but the sound of that one, you're on, sounds flippin great! I might have to look into that for my Rebel Red, and loving your empty roads and enthusium!! Cheers, Phil
Your videos on this bike have been a huge help to me as someone who was considering getting one. Pulled the trigger on the deal today! SO stoked to have my first RE and couldn't be happier to be back on a bike after 3 years of not having one. Love me some small displacement bikes, best bike I ever owned was a 2015 Yamaha R3. That little bike was an absolute blast.
Western world was unaware of this fun machine, they only knew classic but i have been enjoying since 2010 on my erstwhile thunderbird 350 (on my profile)and now hunter 350, the engine has serious character and despite its smaller size as compared to heavyweights it is very much a hoot to drive and handle.
Thanks for sharing your review with us viewers FORGOTTEN Motorcycle guy I really like Royal Enfield Hunter 350 for fun practical riding in the back country. I have been studying the engine and service etc and Baxtercycle sure does have some must have add on's to this machine.
I love my Hunter. Really is a great urban commuter. It just falls into corners. A tacho would be nice. But modern bikes have rev limiters so they are hard to break. My only complaint is REs run-in period of 2000km. Nearly there . 😀
Doesn't a long run-in period mean that the engine is having bigger tolerances inside? Back in the day you needed to run in a car for 1500 or so.. these days not so anymore. Could mean that RE still is having a lesser modern way of making engines. Which is totally fine of course..
Except for the fact that the J-series engine is a all new design and build, so unless their engine manufacturing plant is less advanced, I'm not sure if your assumption is correct 🤷🏻♂️
That's what we're talking about! Looks great, sounds great and obviously runs great as well. If I had 350 Hunter configured like that there would only be one problem, trying to get me to stop riding.
It's an insanely fun motorcycle, quite addictive too! I'm trying to figure out more vids to make with it...just because I want to keep riding it. Wahoo!
@@forgottenmotorcycles As a guy who was raised on a farm in Illinois, Id like to see you capture some planting action. Ride by some fields being worked and maybe catch some shots of the bike next to some tractors? Next to a vintage tractor would be cool.
The Hunter really loves to be in that sweet spot of the 3rd and 4th gears. Is that exhaust a lot louder than the stock exhaust? I think the stock exhaust sounds pretty darn good as well. The RE bar end mirrors are excellent. Perfect bike for the back roads, blue highways of Missouri, Iowa too. I am surprised I do not see more of them on the road. Pick one up for $3,500 used, or less. Low miles. The flat seat is great. Brakes are excellent. Your review is right on.
The white tank and knee pads changed the whole look of the bike. I had actually thought R.E. came out with a whole new look for the Hunter.. Gotta tell ya, I like the look A LOT!!!
Funny it cuts out at 76. Seen two guys say they go a smidge over 80 on the clock. I know the limiter seems to kick in about 75 on the meteor. I fancy one of these. It's no biggy but I would like to know the true top end out of interest.
So several of us have rode this bike and top speed seems to be all over the place...as is the weights of the different riders. At one point I thought I had this bike up to 78 mph. Also, with this pipe the bike seemed to get right up to speed. You can see in the first pass how it just picks up speed right up to the 76 indicated. Im thinking we may have to do some speed testing...if Baxters is willing. Wahoo! PS my GPS claimed a top speed of 75 on my Classic...going down hill behind a big truck. Again...Wahoo!
I'm thinking that is a Diablo pipe from Baxtercycle.com Give Jeremy at Baxter's a call. Great sound and bike felt more powerful than my Classic, for sure.
Looks fun! I'm kinda looking for my first motorcycle. How's this compared to the Meteor? How fast does it get to 60? I believe id rather the cruiser style of something like this instead of like a Ninja. I weigh just over 265 so that maybe a factor also.
These should be available at Baxtercycle.com If you can't find them on the website please give them a call. They are great to work with, a real mom & pop shop. Wahoo!
Hi Fuzzy , from Australia love your vids . i ordered a complete Diablo pipe for my RE hunter Rebel blue 350 ( i hope its not to loud , what do you think? )
Hi, Love your videos on the RE line up. Matter of fact I am chatting with Jeremy at Baxter about a purchase! Quick question on seat height on the Hunter 350s/this bike. I am 5'6" and 30" inseam, how is the stock seat height on this one from your perspective (for flat footing). They say its about 31.3" which should be about right for me but never know if those dimensions listed are truly accurate! Thanks for the awesome content!
Thank you for watching. Please say hello to Jeremy for me :) Yes, seat is about 31.1 inches or so. The bike is also very narrow so it feels lower than this number might suggest. I too have a 30 inch inseam and find this bike very comfortable. For comparison; the Himalayan has a 31.5 inch seat and feels much taller than the Hunter. Great bike! Would love to put a few hundred more miles on it. Wahoo!
@@forgottenmotorcycles Big Shout Out to You!! I am the proud new owner of this very Bike from Jeremy at Baxter Cycle! Cant say enough about Jeremy & Baxter, this is a dealer you want to do business with even if not local!!!! Your videos and excitement really showed off this awesome new RE bike/model and all the Baxter Cycle customization/attention to detail put into it! Such a perfect blend of café racer, sporty look with a bit of just so easy to cruise on. Now I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas as it needs to ship into Charlotte, NC from the transporters . Cant wait to fire it up and ride!
@@forgottenmotorcycles Oh yeah, mentioned watching all your videos to Jeremy! Bought this one you rode, his personal bike with all these accys on it. Still need to keep picking his brain on what else he had in mind for next mods to keep tweaking on it, LOL.
What straight pipe (decat pipe or bend pipe, whatever the phck people want to call it today) is it? Is it custom made or is it something available on the market?
I don't know the answer for that for sure. I would guess the O2 sensor has to remain hooked up for the computer to keep the engine running right. I'll ask next time I'm at the shop. Thank you
The link does not work. I am interested to the knee pads. Just picked up mine two days ago, it’s such a fun and cool motorcycle! Your videos were helpful to make my decision and are a pleasure to watch, thank you!
I prefer to buy basic version and if nedsaty get add on later I am happy to cruise at 40 mph but nice to have poke to get to 65 if i needed it .For me i need itfor cruising in spain france and portugal so will layer get the side car for the gear snd the small dog with googles 😂 to sdd clas to this indisn made bike that joe soaps like me can fix without any maps systems eg love nearly no electronics to go wrong 😊
A Svartpilen 401 is $5699. Not knockin' the Hunter but the Svart will run circles around it and it looks great. Unfortunately they are nearly impossible to get and if you get lucky you'll pay well over list price. Edit: I just checked my local dealer, there are 13 2023 Svartpilen 401s in stock My how things have changed in such a short time.
You're correct about that 401. Actually tried to buy one before getting my Himalayan. Took a heap of work to find one and when I did the dealer was not...well, I wasn't impressed. Was sure that service and warranty would be a problem. Would love to ride one, actually, would really love to ride that 701. Unfortunately, the 701 isn't available in the USA new today. These bikes seem like brilliant motorcycles. Wish they had good US support. Wahoo!
@@forgottenmotorcycles Don't get me wrong, I like the Hunter and small motorcycles in general. I just checked the local dealer, they have 13 2023 Svartpilen 401s in stock. I'd call that a glut. I have a 2022 Vitpilen 401. No problems in 7 months of ownership, dealer 9 miles away. I live in SoCal, ride year round. I love the Vit.
@@georgekrpan3181 our closest dealer is 80 mi away and treats the motorcycle like a side product. If circumstances were better I would certainly love to have one :-)
My husky 310 was a complete POS . Constant issues just after break in. Efi and electrical so not easy to diagnose or fix .. good luck with a 401 and any other ktm for that matter
