Great collection and good upgrade! I am using the same light bars for my displays, but I also have some new Moducases with the newer spotlights. They definitely changed the LEDs and the connection-box which is more like the Cefrank connection box for the individual light strips. Hopefully they don't catch serious heat like yours did at the end of the video.
Looks great and such an improvement. All the wiring definitely tries the patience. Double-sided tape will hold the bar, I have one stuck to the side of the alu extrusion (to try hide it from the outside). Its stuck only on the two metal holders, and I moved across the country and it is still attached. I have tried the sonoff smart switches with an RF remote, but the device keeps forgetting its programming and the remote stops working, which is extremely frustrating, especially since my cabling is not easily accessible. You are the best reference for QoL things like this (and USB/power mods), thanks!
I damaged one of my original light bars by stepping on it somehow, and ordered a replacement along with two other light bars to replace the spotlights in the Moducase DF-60s that I bought from Sideshow. Plus I mounted the Moducases on a piece of plywood, which made a lot of front panel installation problems go away! Using some plastic furniture movers under the plywood makes it a cinch to move the whole Moducase around a room.
You have a glorious display layout Danoby. I wish someday I have the room in my house to do this. Little difficult to do in SoCal houses unless I pay about a mill to upgrade the house with an extra room 😅
Funny how you make a video about Cefrank lights, when I have to order a replacement power supply for my set of lights( not exactly the same set as yours, i DYId the V-channel). My power supply lasted about 3 years , then started to flicker last week.
Have you not thought about the Moducase risers? Not sure if you get them in the models you use. I have them and it means all my power and cabling is underneath and I leave sides and back open for airflow. Makes it all very clean
I wouldn't. It isn't just dismantling the Moducases for the risers but moving everything out of the Moducase, figures, collectibles, etc. labor intensive. Plus I already utilize the top shelf for Dino World.🤷♂️
If I could travel back in time and start all over. I would have chosen The Max140 plus. Strong, spacious units with a solid roof that lets you use it for heavy statues. Plus it's easy to add and remove shelf's or shelf risers. It gives it more of a museum look.🧐
