Thank you for your videos. They have been a great help as I travel through this journey. I have been MOG positive for 3 years and am still on low dose oral steroids. I am also on Ocrevus for MS

Excellent video! Very informative. Thankfully I was fortunate enough not to have to go past prednisolone, but it's interesting to see how the treatments progress. Hope all is still clear with you. Thanks for the vid!

Thank you for the amazing explanations of all the treatments. My daughter is using mycophenolate which makes her feel pretty sick. She is a performer in theatre and comedy, she keeps going forward and tries to not give in to her feeling so sick. One thing I am unsure about is, with Rozanolixizumab and Satralizumab are they to help you have no relapses without taking out your immune system, the way mycophenolate dose, or are you supposed to take them together which means you will always have a compromised immune system. I hope this makes sense. ❤

@MyMyelitis 5 месяцев назад
Rozanolixizumab and Satralizumab have a 'calming' effect on the immune system rather than weaking it like other treatments. The aim of the Rozanolixizumab trail is to see whether the treatment can prevent relapse without the use of other treatments but the Satralizumab one allows other treatments to be used alongside it. I'm not sure whether the intention is for Satralizumab to be used alongside other treatments or if it is to safeguard patients in the trial, especially if they are taking a placebo instead of the treatment. Hope that makes sense

I was diagnosed with mog encephalitis on 15th January 2022 during that time my body was weak , it was my roommate who helped me to get in the taxi , my left arm and left leg was paining the time we went to the hospital and i spent two weeks in the hospital , after those two weeks the results came out were fine , the doctor told me i can go home and continue taking my medicine but i must come back after 3 months to do all the medicial check up again MRI test scan on the brain everything So until now two years have passed but i still have side effects of the disease , when it is cold my head hurt and my left leg feel cold compare to the right leg but when the weather it is hot i don't feel anything, when it is cold my body is so weak so i wear jacket to cover myself and i want to know if there is any advice you can share with me Thank you for your support

Thanks for your comment, I'm sorry to hear you're still having issues. Weather and temperature can have an effect on symptoms so you may want to wear more clothing when going out in the cold. There might be some ways you can adapt your environment which might help your symptoms. I had some issues with temperature sensitivity after my episode but thankfully it has recovered. I would recommend joinng some MOGAD support groups and asking for advice there. I'm sure you would get some good advice there!

Hii Bro, It's been 9 months MOG positive. I'm taking Tocilizumab injection as advised by doctor. Still It is very slow recovery but my bladder is not at all improved and I'm suffering to do motion 😢. Low strength in boby. Feeling very bad about it.

Sorry to hear that Raguhuram. It’s good that recovery is happening but it can be slow. All I can suggest is to keep doing light exercise and stretching. Have you tried self catheterisation for the bladder issues?

I’m sorry to hear about your nephew. We do not know the cause of MOGAD. Some people have something happen shortly before their episode but that may be a trigger rather than a cause of MOGAD

From what I’ve heard recovery is quite dependent on how quickly you were given the correct acute treatment. But some recovery can still happen long after your episode. I’m still noticing small improvements every few months myself so I wouldn’t lose all hope. Does medication or therapy help with your symptoms?

Is physio helps are you able to do some of the exercises yourself each day? I think exercise and stretching helped my recovery a lot but I’m not sure if it’s been proven to aid recovery

Does IVIG works? Is there any complications?
@MyMyelitis
@MyMyelitis 5 месяцев назад
Yes IVIG is a promising treatment for MOGAD. Some side effects for IVIG are headaches, nausea, chills and fever. Some ways to reduce/stop these side effects are staying hydrated, giving the IVIG more slowly or spreading the dose across multiple days

Hi my mother was diagnosed for mogad ( optic neuritis ) recently although she was weakly positive for mog and she was advised for Tab. Wysolone 40mg Tab. Azoran 25 mg Tab. Pantop 40mg Calcium + vitamin d3 tab. But when i am specifically searching for these tablets, they are prescribed for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Is this treatment okay according to my mother's condition? Please reply
@MyMyelitis
@MyMyelitis 5 месяцев назад
Hi Simran, I’m sorry to hear about your mother. I’m not familiar with any of those treatments being used to treat MOGAD. You may want to check with her neurologist that the treatment is correct and they haven’t mixed up the diagnosis
