Want cool ideas for d&d, insteresting dnd character concepts, cool lore and worldbuilding ideas for you to populate your homebrew campaign? In this series of videos, I share several interesting concepts, original ideas, interesting locations, good characters and others from my homebrewed setting of Arcadia.
These videos serve a dual purpose: give you ideas to inspire your D&D campaigns, but also share some lore with new players that are about to join my table and want to immerse themselves in the lore before starting to play.
In this video I introduce the Prince of Steel, a former demigod and currently god of destruction who's perfect to be the BBEG final boss of your campaign, if you want to steal this idea. Moghast, as he's called, is the son of the goddess of war, bent on perpetuating neverending destruction. However, he is a complex character concept who, while not exactly moraly gray, can still stir different opinions on the players.

Another great video! I like how you use characters and story development from your old campaigns to advances the lore, especially how you manage to tie in unfinished campaigns and a dead pc. That's how what most would see as a failure can become something even greater than it was to begin with. Your lore is quite intriguing and your skills as a narrator are excellent! Does Arcadia have a clear definition of demigod? Usually I hear this term referring to the offspring of a god and a non-god, which doesn't seem to be the case here. If I got that right, the Prince of Steele came to life when the bloody halberd hit the ground. Did his body exist prior to this event? Or did he spontaneuosly form from minerals? Is his creature type construct (if demigods have a creature type at all)? When a demigod can advance to true godhood by the faith of one's followers, can a profane being advance to demigodhood the same way? Does it make an actual difference for your game mechanics, players or lore whether someone is a true god or a demigod? Like can a demigod grant divine magic to a cleric for example? Does the goddess deem all orcs unworthy just for being orcs or was there something about him she didn't like spcifically? Also when your players fight a (demi)god is it the actual (demi)god they are fighting or do you use the concept of the 'aspect of ...' like the official settings do? Or maybe something else entirely? Does Arcadia (or parts thereof) have a map you might be inclined to show in a video? Do you mind showing the names in writing? I always have a hard time memorizing names without seeing how they're spelled. Maybe your players feel the same way. Morgast? Belor? Garth? I guess that might not be how you spell it. Why would someone throw a halberd? Does she happen to be a Path of Giants Barbarian? Otherwise a halberd might be less than ideal for throwing, because it is to long, badly balanced and apparently results in assholy demigods wreaking havoc. I looking forward to hearing more about your setting in the future.

Thank you! Let me see if I can answer all your questions: The arcadian definition of a demigod is intentionally vague, but in my head I see it more as an "incomplete" god: a being created from a god but without a fully "godly" body or soul, who as such needs to compensate for the lacking part with an "earthly" substitute. I don't think I have a case where a god mated with a non-god, but I imagine it would produce something more akin to a greek hero. And yes! Technically anyone with enough power, knowledge and the propper rituals could ascend to demi or full godhood. The difference in power level between the two is rather significant, but in terms of game mechanics (which never happened until now), if a player wanted the make a cleric of a demigod I'd say they'd have enough power to grant them divine magic with no nerf when compared to a true god cleric. Bellore had a particular beef with this particular half-orc, and how he basically broke his oath following the death of a particular party member :p It's actually the same story which I briefly tell here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cHOst8iqdcA.html It does have a map, yes! I have a somewhat outdated version in the world anvil I used to maintain a few years ago, you can see it here: www.worldanvil.com/media/cache/mapthumb/uploads/maps/429192768d37c7e72d8fa8a9293d99fe.jpg I am yet to upload the subtitles to this video, but I'll try to do it soon :p The names are Bellore, Moghast and Garth. Well, you are not wrong XD I knew the halberd was her signature weapon, and somehow it just looked very cool the idea of a godly halberd flying through the heavens. Let's just say she could do it because of god magic XD Thank you for the questions, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)

@@TheFirstArcadianDnD Thanks for the info. When I'm playing, reading, watching a movie, series or video I highliy appreciate vagueness in worldbuilding, but the (almost) forever DM in me always wonders how exactly things work. Also someone recently advised me to constantly interrogate. The map has lots of interesting shapes. I like how it is neither a giant ocean with some land in it nor vice versa and I imagine that traveling Arcadia won't get boring any time soon. I contemplated using world anvil, too, but never actually did. Is there any particiular reason you stopped to use it? Maybe Bellore watched Braveheart and thought to herself 'Whatever Mel Gibson can do with his greatsword, I can do with my halberd.' ;)

It's pretty good, but when the campaign I ran from 2017 to 2020 ended, I kinda lost the drive to keep updating it. Also, I was fast approaching the number of articles after which it requires a paid subscription. It's a really good tool, though!
