Is the red two ply regular cotton yarn or is it also mohair?

It is two ply mohair.

@@carolinespurgeon6016 thank you! I watched all 12 videos. Very detailed and easy to understand! Where do you buy your mohair from?

@@JohnnyFloresHorses You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed them. I buy the 8 strand mohair from Hitching Post Supply or UBraid It. Both have websites. UBraid It has a good supply of the 2 ply and also buckles, etc. Hitching Post is stocking more supplies now. Caravan Fibers sells via their Facebook page. I haven't tried theirs but I have a friend who buys a lot from them. Hardware is cheapest through Weaver Leather if you have a wholesale account or know someone that does.

Hi Caroline. I’ve started making mohair tack and my husband wants me to weave his brand in a breast collar. Could you possibly do a video on how to do that?

The problem with a video on that is there’s so many different types of brands it would be hard to do. Some brands you can weave in but others are easier to embroider onto a plain band. If you tell me your brand I could give you a few hints on the best way to do it.

@@carolinespurgeon6016 I thought I could send a picture but I don’t see the option. Any way it’s flying N. So it’s an N with simple wing outline coming off the sides. I didn’t know if you used graphing paper maybe or just free hand.

@@shayenorwood76 I just free hand the designs. Sounds like the wings would be easiest to embroider onto the cinch. To do so, weave a plain band wherever you want the brand and them embroider the flying N onto that plain weave. A simple running stitch is the way to do it. You can email me at spooky1234@yahoo.com. If you send me an email I'll send you a sample of how it's done.
