I love my Scoria. Agree the inverter is unique but most people wont need it. The price is a little high compared to similar brands, but its also has better components. They recently started shipping it with a thumb throttle and finger shifters for the same price. The original also came with a double kickstand which it seems they switched to a single on your bike.
IMO Mokwheel ebikes are underrated maybe bc this price point is so competitive...Good components which comes at a price but much like Aventon, I feel this brand has a very well put together offering. I also love that you can buy this brand at your local bike shop and it can also be serviced there.
For bikepackers, being able to set up the solar panel to juice the bike would be great. Probably could do a lot of bikes that way with assembled components but this is a turnkey package.
I'm not sure how that would work since it would have to be a fairly large solar panel if you want regular charge times. If it's just a small 1x1 foot panel this is easily portable it would takes possibly days.
@@andrewdishman26 I use to charge a Jackery 160 with a folding 100 watt solar panel. Use to take several hours. Not fast, but doable. At worst you could have enough of a charge to get you somewhere with a 120 outlet. I've been mulling the best options for travel and ebikes are attractive for initial cost, no license, no insurance, low maintenance costs. But ultimately I think a Toyota Corolla hybrid is what I'll go with.

Ditch the inverter and it's a good bike for a much better price. Those handlebars are what other comparable bikes need to start going with because straight bars on uprights, Lectric, are ridiculous.
Good review! As for the bike, they totally failed by adding on a do-nothing for carrying capacity or frame rigidity extra rear arm downtube. It does not carry any loads as the rack attachment points are on the lower down tube. It doesn't make the rear arms stronger as it's not triangulated. Just adds weight to an already heavy ebike. They should have beefed up the one lower arm and added the stronger built rack as they have on their Slate model. The frame overall is much more beefy on the Slate. If the Slate had the 750W motor it would be a much better bike.
It's great to see ebike manufacturers exploring these niche markets. I'm waiting for a sub-50 lb ebike with 3" tires and good low-end acceleration, seems like a lot of people regret buying fat tire bikes when they find out how much they weigh.
I only regret it when I habitually try to treat it like it weighs 1/10th my weight instead of 2/3rds lmao. It's a moped with gears, but that's what I wanted.
The price doesn't sound that bad. A 1000 wh powerstation battery alone costs close to $1000. The added cost of the inverter is a bit pricey. But the package cost isn't that bad. The 200w solar panels definitely overpriced, but that could be purchased elsewhere.
I'm fat. No two ways about it. So cheap ain't a possibility. Cheap usually means a top weight capacity of 220 pounds or so. So the bonus of this model is more in the running though where to keep it is another matter. I'm 11/2 floors off the street. Still if I were to buy one I'd either have moved for other concurrent reasons or make the effort to get this baby up the stairs. I like that it has a base model with camper-ish bells and whistles that can be add-ons. I'm likely to never go camping again or need an inverter and/or solar panel. But I like to romance the idea, the daydream.
Overpriced and not worth it. I do like the idea of inverter and solar charging specifically for bikes, but I don't see much happening in that area vs van lifers that set up their own solar panel kits for roughly around the same price or less.
The inverter is a gimmick, nothing more. If you use it, it will drain your battery and leave you with less range. Although I have to say, the form factor of the inverter itself is intriguing.
😕 makes no sense at all,, those solar panel will take forever to charge that battery, and they would have to be carried and left out along with the battery during daylight riding hours. And an inverter to convert DC to AC to run utensils, the idea is to keep an e-bike battery charged! So you can ride it, not make coffee with it, And How are you going to carry the utensils away from the house to a place that has no electricity? On that ebike which doesn't have that large of a battery in the first place. Load up the bike with the on board power station we're going camping😂.
