Molarity from Mass % and Density - Calculate Molarity from Mass Percent and Density

In this video we look at how to calculate the molarity of a solution when you are given the mass percent and density of that solution. Not too difficult once you see how to do it.
I personally like to solve for the moles and then the liters of the solution separately, but you can also just solve for molarity in one giant line of conversions. We look at both ways to solve.
Be sure to watch your units, and good luck!

All of my calculations now match every reputable scientific website's statements of molarity equivalent to concentration, and now I'm even able to arrive at the conversions that aren't given anywhere on the internet. Most concise video of this calculation on youtube.

Thanks for helpful video. We can use directly a formula to calculate the concentration of a solution: C= 10*%P*density/ molar mass %P= 35% Density= 1,21g/L Molar mass=63,02 g/mol

@maitrik.makwana 2 года назад
you can also use the shortcut formula i.e, molarity =10*percent mass *density whole divided my molar mass of solute this will be easy for competitive exams

@straightscience2248

Good question and not tricky at all! It's just a math conversion, and if you need help with that, here's the intro to conversion video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r9KI-bbcpMc.html Start with the 100g of solution, divide by 1.21 for the density, then divide by 1000 to convert from milliliters to liters. So... 100 divided by 1.21 divided by 1000 = 0.0826! Just make sure you label all your units correctly so you should get 0.0826 L. Hope that helps!

If density is given in g/cm ^3 then???
@straightscience2248
@straightscience2248 3 года назад
Not hard at all! 1 centimeter cubed is equal to 1 milliliter. So whatever your density is in g/cm^3, it's going to be that exact same number in the units of g/ml. So the conversion between the units for volume... 1 cm^3 = 1 ml. And then the conversions for density would be... 1 g/cm^3 = 1 g/ml. Hope that helps!
