Mole Conversions Made Easy: How to Convert Between Grams and Moles

This is a whiteboard animation tutorial of how to solve mole conversion calculations. In chemistry, a mole is a very large number of things. Typically, the things are atoms, molecules, or other compounds. A mole of atoms or molecules is an amount that you can see. For example, one mole of water molecules is about 18 mL or a little more than a tablespoon.

In this video, I not only explain what a mole is, but I also explain how to convert from grams to moles and moles to grams. In addition, I demonstrate how to calculate the molar mass of a compound and how to do mole-mass and mass-mole conversions for molecules and other compounds.
My goal is to make chemistry easier ;)

The mole is important in chemistry because the mole is a form of measurement that is essential to calculating the number of atoms inside of chemicals and elements. Calculating the number of atoms in elements and chemicals is extremely important in chemicals reactions because it determines the amount of product produced. So without the mole, medicines and important substances critical to human life today would be impossible to obtain.

convert to moles, times 6.022 x 10^23, then times 2. The times 2 is because there are two oxygen atoms in one molecule.

Everyone was asking each other, "Do you get this?" and people we always say no, including me. My friend told my teacher she had no idea how to do it he re-explained it but it didn't help at all cuz the way he explained it was super confusing, so I just decided to look it up on youtube, and this video popped up, so I watched it, and wow! After 20 years, I was just joking with my partner, about how hard I found converting moles, in general chemistry was. In about seven minutes, I know now! Thank you for making it easy! My professors were never easy in their explanations. I felt deflated after almost every class. My only suggestion would be to have a “why does this even matter “examples at the end. Something like, “if Tesla wanted to use a certain number of moles of lithium in one battery, this is how they would figure it out.“ A great video for you to make would be something like, “how to break barriers in chemistry“ That would give students confidence in real world scenarios. If I was a chemist, and some visionary asked me to make something right after I graduated, I know I would look at him or her like a deer in headlights! Another great video for you to make would be something like “breaking barriers in chemistry “ , giving a simple blueprint that would install confidence for new graduates to push the boundaries instead of just doing ordinary modifications of chemistry that make little or no progress in the world like just another steroid drug that has one or two different molecules in order to get a different patent 🤦‍♂️

This Gospel Tract is posted regardless of location and subject with discernment. The bible says Christians are called to proclaim the uncompromised and complete biblical gospel (Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 1:16, John 12:48) Good News! Find Eternal Life 1) Faith: Faith in the finished work of Christ (fully man, fully God) and His perfect sacrifice for sins (John 3:16) 2) Repentance: Turn from your fallen, sinful mind and ways to all of God's Holy ways. (Luke 13:3) 3) Born again: You must be born of God's spirit to ever see eternal life. In this new life, He gives you a new heart and mind to then serve Him as He sees you a willing vessel for them. (John 3:3, John 3) 4 ) Holiness with obedience: If you're changed by God you WILL, as fruit, strive to leave all sin, worldliness, carnality and false ways (like man-made religion, entertainment, etc.) and obey all His commands and be holy in all your ways. (1 Peter 1:15 / Hebrews 5:9 / Hebrews 12:14) 5) Endure in your faith: You MUST keep clinging to Christ via this saving faith to the end of your life, lest you fall away and have believed in vain. (Matthew 24:13, Matthew 10 and 1 Corinthians 15) See the full tract on my website at www.perfectgospel.com/ (Note: All replies to this comment will be ignored. Is there a mistake on the Lithium page where it mentions 1 gram = 6x10^23 amu? Right under it you wrote 1 lithium atom = 6.94 amu and under that you wrote 1 mole lithium = 6.94 gr. If 1 lithium atom is 6.94 amu and 1 mole is 6x10^23 atoms, then shouldn’t 2 mole be 6x10^23x6.94 and not 6.94 gr?
