Ethereal Energy I’m sorry for your troubles. I do not know your sons story or if he was vaccine damaged. I do know that the gov allowed big pharma to wash its hands of liability back in the 1980’s with all their 2-5& 30 day safety trials and other skewed tests. Vaccine courts were established to pay out billions to date for kids at the taxpayers expense. Cases can take decades and people like this girl and your son are left in desperate need. Everyday money is misappropriated or outright stolen from funds to help the ones who need it most. Someone has gotten rich off the people’s trust and it’s high time something is done to help these families. I wish I could give you a hug and do something real to help. I know parents of ASD kids are under appreciated, overworked, abused, judged, sacrifice more than anyone will ever know, and many other things I cannot begin to put into words. I will send good vibes and prayers your way that you find the strength to keep going and never give up. Much love

Whoever is judging this Mother please stop it, she's doing a great job taking care of her Daughter but she's getting older and all she wants is the best for her Daughter Martha and you're making false assumptions about her not wanting to take care of her child and that's disrespectful and rude the Mother is thinking long term down the road and wants nothing but the best for her child. She's trying to find her a good group home because she thinking of what'll happen once she's not here anymore, the government constantly does this, they help people who are more than capable of helping themselves instead of providing the money to help those that actually need the help I hope Martha and her Mom are doing good .

Parents don't always have the $$ for hired help. I feel for them. My parents have paid through their noses to provide my profoundly autistic brother with a 24/7 care giver and therapy. It's not cheap. And yea, people who can't afford it have to deal with their child on their own. The govt does have some responsibility to provide services. Mine doesn't and thus we've had to make do with costly private help. It's basically take what you can and do your best. It's not easy.

Yep. None of us asked to be here and most were not happily pland an most like while parents were drunk on something both or addicted to something an then without u asking to be here they give u a damaged brain call u autistic an lock u up in a home mean while u might hear that these NORMAL adults ALWAYS talk to us the were real BABYS. an lock us up with strangers to wait out the rest of ur sentences here earth. Because we were driving our families coo coo like yeah trying being us. We’re not crazy. We just didn’t ask to be here. No one should ever be born into a family we’re him or her were touched by family in the wrong way their entire childhood into their teens they then showed u their are other people outside so then we get sent to school were then we are in one class room all day. Like a little jail time. Get them used to being alone because when their grown. Well just put them in a home where I’ll bet not all of these people are happy at these places but the news isn’t going to show the ones say. I want out. Let me out of here. I want my family back. What did I do. Y did they do this to me. Sending me to this place. I feel like a god science project for them to observe so that we they get of of college they can make others feel like nothing more then a training course class for Human Resources. Hahah she wasn’t trying to help u make a friend she was trying to use u for future tips while on the job lol she wasn’t a friend

I know my mum has slowly been easing her disabled son into a more independent life since he struggles with change. I know that there’ll come a point where she’ll have to put him in a group home even when she’s alive and healthy, because she won’t be there to care for him forever. It has to be done very slowly though. Parents have their own reasons for doing this, and those reasons are completely valid. Also I know how incredibly difficult it can be to get someone into a group home. Even here in Australia it’s hard. The mother of a special needs man I know had a hell of a time getting her son into one!

Crimes against humanity this is how I look at it. Nobody should live like this worried if they can make it another day without help, and getting older without a break this is inhumane. When you have a large population of people like this you need to help those parents that have children on the moderate to severe end that are not getting any better. This makes me angry.

Is there a recent update for this story ? I live in Knoxville TN USA and I have a 20 yr old son who is in this EXACT SAME SITUATION.Its 2023 now.And in less than 4 wks my son turns 21. I have been working with TN CARE and CHOICES Sean's insurance co.for 2yr trying to find placement to no avail. He currently is living at University of TN Hospital. in a regular room with no services,no therapy no interaction other than me visiting. It's been a month and five days since he was admitted for behavioral outburst which left his room in shambles and me assaulted many times.I have a young daughter in the home as well and it's not safe for her. Or for my son to live at home any longer.He needs 24/7 care from professional staff.I am 50yrs old and I physically cannot protect all 3 of us at the same time.I get no help outside of school and that's over at 21 for him.Technically it's already over because he's in a hospital .

Sadly, this same issue is faced by all parents with disabled children aging out of school programs. Support for disabled adults is insufficient. Every parent has fears for the futures of their disabled adult children. We all need to keep pressuring our elected representatives to do better!!

Mom needs more research, my 33 yr.old autistic son did not do well in a peer group because he is non verbal, and used an iPad to speak. Developmentally 8 years old, his peers either tried to baby him and control him like a parent, or tried to take his iPad from him. He's your child, yes HE deserves help; but it sounds like mum is more concerned about having her income impacted due to retirement.

I am level 2 Autistic with coexisting conditions I live in bc, supports for autistic adults and adults with FASD are really slim I found that most disabled supports and specialists say community living should be a option for disabled people But on the site of community living bc Is that only help adult autistic or adult FASD with an intellectual disability But I have a friend who was Lennox gaust syndrome (a rare profound type of epilepsy, you have to be born with it) she was 52 to 96 seizures a day depending Yes she’s on medication but in reality anti epileptic medication are full of side effects and in her teen years she had 5 stokes in the span of her preteen to early 20s. Her IQ is over 75, so she would not be intellectual disabled And she was denied by community living, in the letter she received from them is “epilepsy is not a serious condition”

So sorry for the poor poor mother that her daughter is a Nuisance to her. ---- Watching the girl I'm trying to figure out why she can't stay at home with her MOM except for the fact that Mom doesn't want to be inconvenienced. ---- I bet if the Govt started paying the parents large sums of money to help take care of their disabled children, then she would find a way to keep her at home.

Maybe God is allowing isn't allowing her to find a group because he wants her to learn to appreciate and love her child regardless of her disability.

+Courtney Earnhart Maybe. So what? If you were the autistic adult whose only real support structures -- which are SUPPOSED to double as a source of "love" -- are evaporating and trying their hardest to pawn you off to somebody else, well, you would probably be in tougher situation emotionally than the "poor mom". I'm an autistic adult, and I love my mother, she's incredible and my biggest ally; but there is NO conceivable stretch of the imagination where here life is more difficult than mine. The parents of autistic children have a moral responsibility to empathize with and understand their children compassionately, in the proper context and on the terms that they live in. Face it. The life of an autistic person, disabled by a society that can't even get it's funding straight for "support programs" for us, is ASTRONOMICALLY more difficult than the lives of those perfectly normal parents that allow themselves (disgustingly) to feel "bad" about how their expectations and desires of having a "normal kid" were dashed and they instead wound up with this "alien". Guess what? We aren't aliens, we're people, we're JUST AS MUCH people as you or our parents are, and we deserve consideration, compassion, and comprehension of our issues, our lives, our needs, and our challenges.

They need to find a home for her because what will happen to her when both of her parents are dead. Also they need to work, they no longer get government support for her and they pay it out of their pockets. Look deeper then just love. They do love her, this is why they are doing this. She needs to be with friends as well and in a routine that works for her and the family.
@fairymairah

+The Conrad what you mean is that maybe God is allowing her to be un-able to can't find a group home for her right!? and in if a person has to live in a group home! than why can't they just have their house or a half-way house instead? I need answears! because I think people are judging autistics and no one seem to be sickened by it ! ! ! ! !

In a society that cares for it's old, injured, and disabled, you would also be cared for if you became old, injured, and disabled, should, for whatever reason, you couldn't care for yourself, and your family were unable to care for you. Even though your miserable self doesn't seem to deserve it.

boardingpass04 you have no idea what it's like unless your a parent of a special needs person it is a very hard thing to deal with on a 24 7 basis. so imagine if you were the mother and can't help to think what's going to happen to my child when I pass away my child that isn't capable of taking care of her or himself all alone .
