"I had to realize that I never was going to be motivated, and I had to work on my self-discipline and developing a routine." 1:27 Best quote ever for anyone wanting and/or needing a change in their life!
so true! so many people believe they must constantly be 100% motivated everyday, which is just not humanly possible, rely on building a habit and that will help you continue on days your not 100% motivated
Yes I love that quote!! There is no magic wand that gives you motivation. It’s literally about what kind of life do you want and what are you willing to do, to get exactly what you want. It’s more discipline than motivation.
She lost weight in such a healthy way and it shows. Not only in her physical appearance but in the confidence she exudes from her smile! As someone in the middle of their own weight loss journey, I see her as inspiring!
@Seven Inches of Throbbing Pink Jesus True. I'd say we don't depend on gym membership nor being young though. I know some elderly that put many 20-year old to shame (healthy lifestyle and strong athletic bodies).
The real secret is intermittent fasting and a diet that keeps your insulin from spiking. Do those things, and you do not have even have to exercise to lose weight.
@@g.h.7661 she's probably one of the fat acceptance people that think u can be fat and healthy. No morbidly obese person is healthy. Hence the name morbidly, duh. The whole movement has turned from being accepting to hating thin people. It's sad. I'm sure the lady in the video is healthier than her and she's upset? She probably didn't watch the video lol
13 months is a good timeline to lose the weight. She did it slowly and steadily and used weight training and as you can see she doesn’t have loose skin. Kudos to her
Yes! When I saw 13 months 100 lbs. I knew she did something right. Here I am with a 10 month, a 2 year old and telling myself I can't go out for walks 🤦🏻♀️. I'm getting them in the stroller and going for a walk everyday. This is so inspiring
I doubt very much if she does not have loose skin. You have to intermittent fast to not have loose skin, not count calories. People during the holocaust were deliberately starved and not one of them had loose skin because their bodies went into ketosis for a long time . During this stage the body has to recycle everything including skin, cysts, cancers and any other garbage cells and create new healthy cells. it is like the ultimate cleanse. That is why intermittent fasting has so powerful long lasting results and why people who are on prolonged fasting like 7 days often gain muscle mass after losing fat
She doesn’t look that different, she was pretty before and she’s still very pretty. Appearances shouldn’t matter, prioritize your health. When ppl realize that, they start to lose weight and actually sustain it
@@asmrlacedwithpearls4310 stop pushing the lazy and victimized mentality, and talk down other's achievements so you feel better about your lazy self. this girl worked hard to improve herself. You probably banging on the screen right now complaining how you are still fat and ugly even you've done nothing to get better.
The girl who lost weight looks like “yeah yeah” when the nutritionist is talking. Girl said she eats what she wants. That doesn’t mean she lost weight eating cake and cookies everyday but she DID eat those things. Nutritionists make you feel like you can NEVER have “bad” foods and you have to eat salads all the time. That’s just not true.
Not ALL dietitians do that. Please be careful. I met some that encourage a wide range of foods including moderate junk food. It depends on who you talk to. She’s right. Don’t just look at calories.
Ive lost over 40 pounds since June. I was somewhere over 265+ and now im 223pounds. I started real slow and now I walk a lot, at least 3 miles everyday and I log my food in myfitnesspal. I'll be 180 before the end of the year.
Diet and nutrition is so over rated and people make it more complex than need to be. Get out and simply walk off your weight. Be consistent and be strong with the mental hunger pains.
I’ve lost 47 lbs. Counting calories, making changes in my diet, but I don’t give up the things I like to eat. That is the key to sticking with a weight loss plan.
Except everyone’s body isn’t the same and what worked for her isn’t necessarily going to work for someone else. Especially someone that’s insulin resistant. I’m glad she made sure to mention all calories are not created equal and what you put in your body is just as important as how much. I have lost 100lbs and I will tell you I didn’t do it by having cake as an option. Some people cannot have sugar or carbs.
@@noneya2444 Yes, some people have a really strong addiction to processed foods, and eating just a little is never an option. They will always end up eating the whole bag of chips, or box of cookies, or entire chocolate bar.
But nothing the expert said was wrong. 100 calories of cake are not the same as 100 calories of spinach. Everyone's stretch receptors and nutrient receptors are different and react differently to foods. It can be very easy for someone to accidentally over-consume calories from cake because their body did not tell them to stop eating on time.
@Maegan1111 I know right?? Im scrolling through these comments and it makes my jaw drop with all the fat phobia covered up with language we hear every day and no one bats an eye. Its really efffed up. its so invasive it baffles my mind.
I’m on my way to losing 80 pounds altogether; I’ve lost about half and have another 40 to go. I definitely agree with her, moderation is key. I would strictly eat healthy foods at first and by next week end up binging and feeling horrible. Now I basically eat what I want but in smaller portions and with a calorie limit on top of exercise and this has been working for me ❤️
Same story with me right now. Half way there. 85 lbs total. I do eat what I choose but within the limit of the day. I think I will count calories for the rest of my life. It’s too easy to not realize how much we eat when a small portion of food can carry thousands of calories. I used to limit myself (incorrectly) a lot when I was gaining weight. I realize now that while maintaining weight with some moderate activity does allow a considerable amount of calories (about 2700 for me with my analysis) and that does allow eating a lot. But not a lot of anything. All with measure. I will never again gain weight.
@M J the shelf life of fresh food isnt long.. im lucky enough to be able to afford to replenish but not everyone has that ability when they have families to feed
The problem with this nation and obesity issues is THIS DIETITIAN! A life of diets do not work and aren’t reality. Moderation is key. Kudos to this mom 🎉.
No the problem in this nation is no one wants to do the work to actually lose the weight. And the work equates to EATING CLEAN! Moderation means only have cake once or twice a week at most. Majority of your days should be filled with vegetables, nuts, SOME fruits, whole foods is key. Exercise compliments a body that has a healthy diet.
I love how she says, returning after a year, losing all the wait, being proud "I did this just for me". That inner motivation, not doing it for anyone else just because there is something inside that keeps you moving.
*Your transformation is amazing, and I can only imagine how much hard work and determination you put into it. Thank you for sharing your story with us; you're an inspiration to so many!*
How does it diminish it? She lost a boatload of weight. The only way they could diminish it is if they compare her to other women who lost more than her, not by bringing in a professional to comment on it.
Skinny doesn't equal healthy. The dietician is there to let people know that it's not all about just counting calories if you are trying to be healthy. I think our country has an obsession with weight loss that they think they are getting healthy just because they are losing weight.
It’s such a ridiculous claim to make. You can tell that the majority of food she ate was obviously healthy and lower in calories. She just didn’t deny the foods that she also loved.
she’s so beautiful before and after and it makes me so happy that she started her journey for herself and not because of other people fat shaming her and telling her to loose weight or something toxic like that.
I agree. Nutritionists are a little warped. They want to be so strict with a balanced diet but they need to remember yolo! We live once & we should enjoy things while we’re here. I agree with eating whatever you want if it makes you happy. Along with nutrition! Enjoy things, don’t restrict your joy.
It is major!! But the point is to sustain it. The nutritionist was incredibly diplomatic and said it’s ok to start out that way, but it is NOT sustainable - proof? EVERYONE who loses weight counting calories will gain it back. That’s a diet. You want to change the way you fuel yourself for life. Of course it’s an amazing feat. But millions have people have done the same thing and the same way, and the sustainability is just not there. I thot she did an amazing job of controlling herself.
Regarding the nutritionist wanting to be strict? Her point was NOT to be strict. The young mother’s diet was too strict because it limits calories of items you shouldn’t be eating anyway. There is a lot to be said for YOLO, but how healthy do you want to feel and look while YOLOing? Avoid disease etc., as you grow older? Then don’t count calories. Lose weight - get the most bang for your buck in all food - it’s fuel. If you run around YOLOing all the time, your YOLO is going to be shorter and disease ridden. I am looking at one of my best friends who has the yolo attitude and won’t listen to anyone telling her if she changes the way she looks at food and loses 60-80 pounds she’ll feel so much better. She has a list of things wrong with her, she’s on multiple prescription meds, and refuses to believe her lousy diet is the source. Yolo will mean nothing if you get diabetes and other diseases relating to bad fueling. She is a, I was going to say walking example, but actually she is a sitting example, of bad fueling decisions reaping bad health. And she won’t listen. I’m sorry but I am so passionate about people - especially women - being given bad advice. I eat more today that I did when I was 55 pounds overweight. I changed how I fuel myself 5 years ago.
After awhile of modifying my diet and exercise, I can honestly say that it's about increasing your frequency of making smart choices. That's basically it. The more effort you put in the more results show. It's actually so simple
I have lost 58 lbs. since March 1, 2020. I decided to use the quarantine time to embark on a weight loss journey. I have never done anything like this before and never thought in a million years that I could do it. If I can do it, anyone on this planet can do it. Keep trying people if this is the time in your life for this journey.
When you have children, you don't have time for yourself EVER. Unless you have a bunch of nannies raising your kids for you, it's very difficult, especially if you're a single parent. I'm very glad for this nice lady & how she was able to lose that much weight. That's a serious accomplishment. Good on her.
@@Mtygto1989 Most parents spread themselves too thin & it's almost impossible to make time for themselves. It's alot to deal with. My sister has 4 kids & doesn't give herself any time because she just doesn't have any. Her kids are bigger now & sometimes they just don't wanna help. She's so stressed out all the time. Now I know why my mom would lock herself in her room sometimes. My parents had 6 kids.
Truth! I'm a single mom and my daughter just turned 7 months so she's becoming more "independent" so now I feel I'll he able to *maybe* work out. It is winter so walking will be more difficult but I'm determined to lose the weight (about 50lbs) by her 1 yr bday I'd not by the end of the year. 💪🏾
@@aangitano my older sister & one of my cousins are also single moms. They NEVER had time for themselves. It's been rough on them for awhile. But their kids are young adults now so they're good. They finally have lots of time. It's so much harder to be a single parent. Another one of my cousins was a single dad since his son was born. He & his sons mom got married 2 years ago. Their kid is almost out of high school now.
We don't have time to ourselved, yet anyone can incorporate their kids into their workout time. There is yoga with babies, yoga for kids, walking (even if it is taking more steps around the home with a baby). I've even found plenty of cardio that is only 5-10 minutes a day that still gets the heart pumping. It just takes a bit of motivation which can be tough but it feels great once commited.
The nutritionist wasn't being rude, she's being honest. Calories in and calories out only goes so far, if you are eating bad food it will mess with the stress and appetite hormones, and on a bad day can throw out all progress. Just eat healthy, and as much as you need to feel satiated, food is fuel. The right foods will naturally allow you to lose weight without limit.
This is almost my story exactly! I have three kids as well, all back to back, and I have 100 lbs to lose😖! I’ve started my weight loss journey on my channel and it’s going well so far🤗!
I have been busy and haven’t watched you for a while. Your hair is looking so much thicker!! Whatever you are taking/using is working. Hope you’re feeling better from a few weeks ago when you posted this update! ❤ Amanda
You probably were being too strict using it. It’s to help you understand and gain awareness of how much you’re eating, not a tool to say okay this is how much you’re allowed to eat every single day and you can’t go past this number. Nobody eats the same amount of calories everyday. Some days your body needs more and some days your body needs less depending upon what you’re doing each day. It’s not a tool to control you it’s supposed to be a guide. If I have my calories set for 1600, that doesn’t mean I’m going to literally try to eat 1600 calories every single day. I’d go mad. If I know I’m going to be working all day on top of exercises I’ll count the amount of calories I’ll be burn and add that to the 1600. Sometimes working all day plus my exercises will burn up to 500 calories and on days like that I’ll eat 2100 calories. When you subtract how much I burned from how much I ate, I’m still at my guide set point at the end of the day, that being 1600 calories. Point is, that 1600 is a guideline. I will choose to eat more if I know I’m going to need more anyway because I’ll burn it off either from exercises or being a bit more physically active that day for whatever reason.
My nutritionist suggests a 9" plate on which a quarter is a protein, a quarter a starch and half is vegetables. Simple and easy. Cut out alcohol and high caloric desserts. No counting...it also drove me mad when I tried it..it felt like I was becoming hyper-focused or obsessed and that felt like a set up to an eating disorder. Oh, and 2 fruits a day.
I really enjoyed counting calories at first, I had no idea how many calories were in foods and the macros/micros of what I was eating. It's definitely not a great long term solution, but it's extremely helpful just getting to know which foods have more caloric "value"
Georgia was looking at the dietician thinking “shut the eff up.....it clearly just worked for me!” She ruined the segment with with her “jelly beans are not apple slices .” Duh
@@almaburns6562 yes, that's right! If you don’t do it right - it is unsustainable. What this young woman has done, whether you like it or not, is unsustainable and the kind nutritionist was incredibly diplomatic. YES it matters.
Snookers I promise you it is. I thot so too. Personally as a Dietitian, the featured Dietitian did a great job. She's not diminishing what the guest achieved but providing facts that people need to take into consideration. Regardless, the guest did a great job and should be proud of her accomplishments.
Congratulations! You look amazing, girl! Kudos to all the spouses that love and support their spouse before, during, and after creating healthier habits.
Yes!!! I felt she discredited the work Georgia did. Calories out/in can work. Yes, we know jelly beans arent better than an apple but Georgia was telling us what worked for her.

Thats exactly how I dropped 40 lbs and got to my goal shape and weight. I never gave up foods I love, I just stopped over indulging. And I began walking my dog. 1.5 miles a day. Dropped 40 lbs in about 3.5 months. I've kept it off for over a year now, and I'm very happy with my lifestyle changes because I know I can maintain it.
I’m on that journey now! Intermittent fasting and keto.. calories in vs calories out has 90% fail rate. Good for this gorgeous girl though.. her determination knowing she needs discipline to stay on track, she will be that 1 % success 💕
I like Georgia being honest about still having some foods she loves because this is why most people fail. We try cutting everything but she is proof you can enjoy things in moderation and still get fit by getting moving and not over eating or eating all bad foods but still treat yourself!!! GO GIRL!!!!
For those who were ugly or heavy, they all went through the pain of bullying and bad treating. The only way to get out of it is "Self Discipline". It is about you and you only.
I zoned out after the nutritionist came in. I already had my share of nutritional classes. I am just here to listen to inspiration, not so much someone telling me what to do.
This is such a Great story. I love how she did it simply by just getting up and walking. I think that's the thing is to move even if it's just walking. I see people in my neighborhood that will start running and they are panting and suffering when really they should just start simply with a walk. Baby steps for sure. She looks so good and it's such a heartwarming beautiful motivating story. 🥰💐🙏🏻❤💞💞
Wow, so many of the comments dismissed the dietician - she was just saying that eating healthy foods makes you a healthier person. There will come a time when the woman’s hormones will change and the junk food she eats will catch up to her.
Yes, I’m finding this to be true for myself as well. In my 20s I used to eat whatever I wanted, never exercised, and never gained weight. Now that I’m 39, and seen evidence of the beginnings of the big hormone change, I’ve gained weight even while cutting back on food and exercising 3x a week. So frustrating!
Discipline is the key Im 60 5'9 135lbs and raised 3 boys Ive been working out 6 days a week for 40 yrs It has to be a way of life not only physically but for mental benefits as well During pandemic Ive put 3700 miles on my stationary bike since April Throughout life I have adjusted my workout routine many times due to work schedules kids etc Stick with it you will never regret your hour of power!
The nutritionist is correct, all calories aren’t equal. If Georgia wants to limit calories, that’s fine. But it’s healthier for your body to eat until you’re satisfied with healthy foods
Every dietician has a different diet they promote. I am convinced they have no more idea as to what to do than anyone else, some are high protein, low carb, some are vegan some are keto, some are Mediterranean. Might as well count calories and exercise. biochemistry says all calories ARE the same, the nutrients are different. If you are craving jellybeans and eat apples instead, you will still reach out for those jellybeans later.
In case other people are wondering, she's 5'2 and was 25-26 through her weight loss. Doesn't look to have had surgery for loose skin, even after 3 kids
You can still work on yourself during pregnancy if you as I desire. :) I am also pregnant and I'm trying to do my best to gain the recommended amount of weight and take care of my body -for the sake of both my baby and myself. Obviously some people have really difficult pregnancies so don't best yourself up! ♥️
I was never going to be motivated…. As someone not far from the starting point of this journey, about 11 pounds so far, I’ve never heard truer words and absolutely love that she said that cus it is so true, SO TRUE.
I spent quarantine gaining weight 🙄 but I’m on the right track to lose it! Calories out > calories in 🙌🏿 I love that she ate all her faves; goes to show that the fancy diets are not really necessary
RosetheLourdes Everyone has a specific metabolic set point. Like a thermostat we tend to gain or lose until we hit that set point. Losing a ton of weight may be a struggle for some since their set point is much higher. For example, I have a friend who’s always been a bit heavier. He has never been below 200 for very long at a height of 5’10”. He will eat whatever his wife gives him. For a while she made fairly healthy food and his weight started to decrease. However, they have a habit where if she can’t finish her meal she will give it to him. His set point is around 200 because of this habit. Personally, I don’t have a very high set point since I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want. I have been health conscious since I was 12 years old. Now at 46, my body tells me when to stop. I sometimes even get stomach pain or constipation. I self care and my health and weight settle back down.
You have to watch your calorie intake! If you expend more than you take in, you WILL lose weight. I lost weight the exact same way. She looks amazing & I am sure she feels so much better.
I’m turning 74 this summer. In 2018 I weighed 230 at 5’5”. . Today I’m 146.5. Lost 50 during lockdown. I counted calories on app Fitness Pal. I walked. BMI down from 38 to 24. Unfortunately, I needed total knee replacement surgery in March and although I still lost 3 lbs, I’m struggling with getting back to walking and swimming. Congratulations on doing this at your age. I’ve gone up and down my entire life from 116-230. Taking it off is easier than keeping it off !!
Georgia’s face when the dietitian started debunking her calorie counting method. 😂 I felt that in my soul. I was all motivated until that chic started talking!!
We don't metabolize all calories the same, which debunks the calories in/out theory. For instance, we our bodies don't absorb calories from 30 g of nuts the same as 30 g of jellybeans. Nutrients also play a role in weight loss.
