Hi all! Mom here - reading this comment section is wild. From the comments calling me a socialist, communist, liberal, libertarian, uniformed, unintelligent, balanced, smart, wise, fouled mouth, hot & whatever else 😂 What is clear, is that if anyone thinks they can form a decisive opinion about me, my son or our life in a 13 min reaction video you’ve lost your damn mind 😘 I’ll share a bit here so maybe those that have engaged in positive discourse, regardless if we agree or not, and others can be encouraged to know that we all have been through things and it’s best, in my humble opinion, to stay open and learn from each other. I say we’ve lived a comfortable life because we’ve never been homeless. We’ve had a bed and roof over our head always. That is comfortable. We’ve been evicted, foreclosed on, so poor we had no food. Power/water/gas shut off more times than I can count. Not enough in the bank account to buy diapers or tampons and certainly not food. We’ve stood in food bank lines, begged for help to pay bills, food stamps, WIC, Tanif, sold things we owned to put food on the table. Jesh’s dad and I were young parents with little help and history’s that made the journey even more difficult. We have no college degrees. I worked, his dad worked. Hard. For years. We dreamed of more for our kids and that was always the driving force. We’ve also experienced some success and beautiful opportunities directly related to hard work and job/life choices. That’s the beauty of this great country. We can learn from each other if we will listen and realize that we all have more in common then not. I don’t share this to prove a point. Simply to say we have got to see the best in each other not the worst and fight for the better good of all of us. Peace✌🏼

The stories that have been shared paint a brutally honest picture. Suicide, addiction, unemployment, anxiety and depression, hopelessness and the list goes on. Im sitting in such a weird place in my life right now. I never wanted to be a full time musician, much less sit at the top of the iTunes charts. Draven from RadioWv and I filmed these tunes on my land with the hope that it may hit 300k views. I still don't quite believe what has went on since we uploaded that. It's just strange to me. People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers. I don't want 6 tour buses, 15 tractor trailers and a jet. I don't want to play stadium shows, I don't want to be in the spotlight. I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression. These songs have connected with millions of people on such a deep level because they're being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung. No editing, no agent, no bullshit. Just some idiot and his guitar. The style of music that we should have never gotten away from in the first place. So that being said, I have never taken the time to tell you who I actually am. Here's a formal introduction: My legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford. My grandfather was Oliver Anthony, and "Oliver Anthony Music" is a dedication not only to him, but 1930's Appalachia where he was born and raised. Dirt floors, seven kids, hard times. At this point, I'll gladly go by Oliver because everyone knows me as such. But my friends and family still call me Chris. You can decide for yourself, either is fine. In 2010, I dropped out of high school at age 17. I have a GED from Spruce Pine, NC. I worked multiple plant jobs in Western NC, my last being at the paper mill in McDowell county. I worked 3rd shift, 6 days a week for $14.50 an hour in a living hell. In 2013, I had a bad fall at work and fractured my skull. It forced me to move back home to Virginia. Due to complications from the injury, it took me 6 months or so before I could work again. From 2014 until just a few days ago, I've worked outside sales in the industrial manufacturing world. My job has taken me all over Virginia and into the Carolinas, getting to know tens of thousands of other blue collar workers on job sites and in factories. Ive spent all day, everyday, for the last 10 years hearing the same story. People are SO damn tired of being neglected, divided and manipulated. In 2019, I paid $97,500 for the property and still owe about $60,000 on it. I am living in a 27' camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of craigslist for $750. There's nothing special about me. I'm not a good musician, I'm not a very good person. I've spent the last 5 years struggling with mental health and using alcohol to drown it. I am sad to see the world in the state it's in, with everyone fighting with each other. I have spent many nights feeling hopeless, that the greatest country on Earth is quickly fading away. That being said, I HATE the way the Internet has divided all of us. The Internet is a parasite, that infects the minds of humans and has their way with them. Hours wasted, goals forgotten, loved ones sitting in houses with each other distracted all day by technology made by the hands of other poor souls in sweat shops in a foreign land. When is enough, enough? When are we going to fight for what is right again? MILLIONS have died protecting the liberties we have. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Never in world history has the world had the freedom it currently does. Don't let them take it away from you. Just like those once wandering in the desert, we have lost our way from God and have let false idols distract us and divide us. It's a damn shame.”

I'm retired Air Force, and I've been to many countries. I've been to Central America, the Far East, the Middle East, and all over Europe. You don't like capitalism ? Well, communism and socialism SUCK. Talk to people who fled from Cuba and Venezuela. Granted, capitalism isn't perfect, but it's far better than anything else out there. That's why millions of people come to America.

There is no professional equipment or editing done to his videos which gives us a chance to see the raw talent this man has. Mom here whose kids actually got to take American History, that's now been removed from many schools. You said history is written by the editors, who want to stay in power. I totally agree. This is why: My young family and I all born, raised in New England, moved down near Augusta GA. The boys were still in middle school, younger. I was compulsive about saving textbooks and brought them with us. I had my history book from High school circa 1985. I was helping my middle with his school work n I'm strong in history. We're going over the war, and I notice so many differences in the summarized battles. In the strategies, etc. IE Sherman. I'm my book from up North Sherman was a hero. My son's book had a much less complimentary description, of to say the least. Just food for thought. All the rest of it was basically the same. Odd.

FYI, the instrument is commonly called a "Dobro" which was the brand of the first of its type. This brand is made by the famous Gretsch guitar company. It is a guitar with a resonator similar to that of a banjo placed in the body (sound chamber) giving the instrument a distinctive sound. Some players also install a raised strong bridge and "nut" to keep the strings away from the frets, and play it with a steel or "bottle-neck" which makes it sound like an acoustic steel guitar.

Mom of 3 sons here. We live in a deep blue state. I’ve watched over many years the politicians go above and beyond to tax, regulate and dictate their own agendas and to sell out manufacturing and other jobs that sustained the nuclear families. We are small business owners for over 40 years. Our children didn’t depend on a corporation or employer to get through life. We worked everyday because we had to. No sick time for us. I’ve always paid attention to what local and state, federal bureaucrats have saddled our children with and beyond! I believe in letting us all carve our way but have to put my foot down to the indecency and destruction they are doing to our youth. This is extreme liberalism. If the government didn’t have their hand in our pockets at every turn then maybe it would be easier to pay a living wage to those that really do the moving and shaking of this country. I found this reaction to be very real. I do not get all the hate from the comments section and in the thread underneath her explanation about her life. We all have a story in life, we all get hungry (physically and mentally). And yes there are multiple political groups (Not everything is Left, right, blue, red, black, white, and so forth). It is much easier to open a book to the first page and claim it read. The average person only sees and hears what they want and they refuse to see anything passed that. This reaction like many others is a first time seeing and hearing reaction and they both reacted to it the way that they interpreted it. I may disagree with some statements that was made, however I agree with a majority of them. We are all puppets in the political puppet show. Or as the young lady said (Ants battling grasshoppers). An ant can lift way above its own body weight making it the mover of the bug species (Just like the Average Worker in every country) Average workers keeps the Rich people Rich (While keeping the countries moving).
