Think about how much more devastated she'd be when she finds out chucky's not real.

Even if the mascot could actually see the girl, it was a birthday ceremony thing for everyone on stage. Parents should keep the rest of the kids from going up to the mascot when the mascots focus should be on the birthday people

I play a mascot and I tell you one thing, it's not that we don't want to say hi or hi five a child, it's that we are not able to see kids that are ground level.

I've been in a suit in Disney and they are a flippin nightmare..could only stay in 30 minutes of every hour and have to get out..ur vision is pretty impaired also..I've almost ran over kids not knowin they were there..im hopin thats what it was..shes a baby buy her a toy and keep her in her bubble until she's older..she doesn't need to know the world she lives in yet 💯

Did you ever consider that the mascot was high fiving kids in his line of sight on a STAGE? I doubt that it would be easy to look out of a mascot costume and notice a child wanting a high five on the ground. When my son was in high school, he was the finalist for a college scholarship he applied for at a local organization, but when the organization realized that my son is white, the follow-up call never came. When we contacted the organization to find out the status on the scholarship he was told he had won, we were told that the scholarship was given to a black child instead. Discrimination goes both ways.

We don't go to chuck-e-cheese anymore because the last time we went I had to hold all of my kid's tokens to keep them from being stolen. It was actually really annoying because it kept happening. One little kid even just bumped my son out of the way and started playing his game, like it was nothing. And at one point there was a huge drama because a little boy decided to be part of a party he wasn't a part of. Literally went up, got cake and sat down to eat it. Which the family thought was funny until they realize his parents were not even in the building. It's obvious some people let there kids loose in there with no money and tell them to have fun any way they can.

In this case the child was SHORT and standing so close to the character she was probably out of the field of vision. I personally spent a weekend entertaining children wearing a character head and I will tell you that just because "the head" is pointed downward, it does not mean that you can see your own feet. And FYI--if the first thing you think is racism, YOU'RE PROBABLY A RACIST. It could have been even been a person of color inside the costume. This is manufactured outrage. It's nothing more than a mom trying to get lawsuit money. First of all, it's hard to see in those masks. Secondly, he was only supposed to interact with the kids on the stage. All of these lawsuits will create too much legal liability and soon no costumers will be able to hug anyone anymore.

#1- If the kids onstage are being recognized for their birthday, that little girl should have been in her seat. As parents its our job to make sure our kid's aren't bouncing around in the way and we explain to them that they will get a chance to have time with Chuck E on their birthday or once he is done with the birthday kids which obviously happened because she took a photo with him. As you can see there were no other children in the way being an interruption. #2- If you watch the video in slow motion you can tell that Chuck E could hardly see where the kid's hands were that were on stage. He is basically moving his hand along until they give him a high five and he stops when he feels no other hands. You can clearly see that he didn't give all the kids on stage a high five and they were Caucasian children. So why did he miss those kids????? Probably because they didn't give him a high five and probably because he was getting super close to the other employee which seems to be there as a guide. I'm a black woman with a black daughter and I think this is a bit of a reach. I think that girl should have been in a seat with her mom instead of being in the way. It seems like her mom doesn't understand that her daughter was not the highlight of the event.

Mother needs to pop along to Islamoburger, the halal burger joint. Their mascot, HolyMo, will be more than happy to pay close attention to the little girl.

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” Seems the mother has a really good opportunity here to see whether her claims are fair and accurate. Just wear the suit for a shift and if she can still hold true to her perspective after then all the more respect to her, but as it sits something is very not right about this.

I dressed up as The Easter bunny for a florist shop I worked for year's ago...it is really hard to see anything below eye level and like 100* inside the suit! I am not sure he saw her...but I do feel sad for the little girl she was so excited.💔

This is nothing new. It’s been happening for years with company and business mascots. The only difference now is that the news and phones are capturing it. My kids had the same experience when they were little and saddened they wouldn’t get noticed. I stopped going to places like these and refuse to support them.

There was two black worker when I took my son to last week in long island, they ignored us when we try to paid, they clearly saw us just because we are Chinese they were smirking and rolling eyes, while a Latino worker saw and quickly came over to help us. WoW

My family’s been to Chucky Cheese and Sesame Place many times and the children in my family have been bypassed many times. There are usually so many children around I’m sure they can’t see everyone. Let’s keep making everything about race and we’ll get nowhere as a country.
