If China thinks that South China Sea belongs to them and other nations are off limits, then India should declare ownership of the Indian Ocean and ban Chinese vessels from entering it.

In regards to the West Philippines Sea/South China Sea, the escalation can be traced back to Obama's lacklustre handling of the CCP's annexation of the Scarborough Shoal. The CCP had agreed (along with the Philippines) to leave the area and allow fishermen to access the region, but when the Philippines left the CCP didn't and instead fortified their position. Obama not wanting to confront the CCP and potentially impact US-China relations decided to ignore the betrayal. The CCP took that as a sign of weakness and have been repeating the same action across the entire West Philippines Sea for years ever since.

Philippines would benefit greatly from a more robust territorial posture. Philippines is small and under resourced militarily compared to China but PI has a greater circle of friends and is better positioned geographically as well as politically for a response.

It is such a blatant lie! That was NOT a fishing boat. It was to delivery supplies to a Philippines coast guard boat anchored in a disputed area for few months already just to occupy the island.
