Watch the amazing moment when two school friends, a judge and a man suspected of burglary, were 'reunited' briefly during a court hearing in Miami, US. "I'm sorry to see you here," said Judge Mindy Glazer. "I always wondered what happened to you." Standing in the dock, Arthur Booth, who was arrested after he was chased in a car by police, broke down in tears when he recognised his former class-mate. Judge Glazer set Mr Booth's bond at $43,000 (£27,500).

It's incredible to see the subtle change in the range of emotions he felt. When he first realised that the judge was an old friend, he was happy to have met someone from his past. Immediately after, you can see the memories of who he was back then flood back into his mind, and he realises the full weight of who he had become in that moment. This was not just an unjust world acting against him, this was someone close, someone known, that he had just forgotten, and the shame becoming a criminal and meeting someone who only knew the good in him drove him to break down. I'm happy that he was able to make a recovery and find success in life, and it always amazes me how impactful even small emotions can have on our minds.

You know that you failed. Every hour of every friggin day. Specially if you are not a criminal and was doing ok at first, but got into trouble bc of, basically, bad luck. It is bad enough, for a good person (bad ppl dont give a crap), when you have to stand in front of a judge and be judged. Unless when you have totally given up on justice, which is also when you dont give a shit anymore. But as long as you do, it is an institution representing the ppl, which you respect. And it is utterly embarrassing to stand there and be judged. If then the judge is someone you knew, when you werent deemed a criminal yet and reminds you, it is not that you are reminded that you are doing bad. You know that. It is the kind words she speaks of you.... THAT is what gets you. Because you never get kind words as a designated criminal. Everyone and their uncle, bc they want to hang on to the justice system being always right, puts all the blame on you. If that isnt true, it bugs you, but gradually you start to believe it is you. It happened to you right, so yea, you cant deny there must be something in you that is not right. And then someone, the judge ffs, reminds you that you were once good. Holy fek (this guy obviously isnt a real criminal. That is, he may have done things that arent allowed, but he will not be a generally bad intention crimininal. Such a person would not shed a tear in this situation. He would prolly say f off, or if he's smart, try to make use of the situation to his benefit. Obviously i speak from experience. I can deal with most things. What i cannot deal with is someone speaking loving words about me. Specially if it comes out of the blue Then i instantly break down. Which is what is happening to this man.

When two beings interact, their pro's and con's react. The results of those reactions is Good and Bad. The simplest example is this: If I interact with you (pro), and you decline (con), my reaction will create either a Good or Bad. If I walk away, your con becomes a pro (Good). If I stay, your con remains (Bad). This of course is ultimately a theory, but it can be accurately applied to many areas of life.

@@jandullahasad7981 the judge was clearly from a Mexican heritage - not white.. She made the comment on his past, no set up. These random syncronistic events happen in life to all of us with varying degrees. It's meant to remind us and offer an opportunity to make better choices. Playing the race card only creates reality your fear pushes on to you when you feel weak and vulnerable. Yes of course we naturally are more wary of different races and cultures to our own, but it doesn't stop us from trying to overcome that. So we can live a righteous life no matter the circumstances, we overcome it by faith and courage. Don't blame others for your failures, it just builds resentment and rots away inside you.

Mary Gaw the Mexican heritage don’t count here, anyone can clearly see white and black where one is and where the other is struggling in life even being a good kid at school. They’ve actually played the race card on me to make me weak and vulnerable. We can only overcome it when they show us the opposite, we cannot overcome when my assumptions are changed into reality such as in this scene. It really depends on the closeness of the relationship. In some cases, it’s mandatory for the judge to recuse himself or herself. Recusal is mandatory in cases where there is some financial tie that would cause the outcome of the case to affect the judge or a member of the judge’s family directly. For example, a plaintiff in a case assigned to Judge A is represented by Law Firm X. Judge A was formerly a member of Law Firm X and still has contractual rights to payments from the Firm for her interest in the Firm, based in part on the financial success of the Firm. Or the case involves property adjoining property the Judge owns and has the potential to increase or decrease the property value of the Judge’s parcel. Or the case involves a business in which the Judge’s spouse is employed.

Because of what he had become? We don't know all the back story here, and should not make assumptions. But we can see the white person went to law school and became a judge while the black man went nowhere. This probably has more to do with lack of financial opportunities and an unstable home environment rather than his own decision making. It's a real shame, and unfortunately he is feeling that shame more than she ever will, because his life is ruined and her position is set.
