Hi Sherry, I am so pleased to "meet" you thanks to our lovely mutual friend Michele over at Chocolate Box Cottage! I love your channel and the sweet cozy life you have created. And I had a good laugh as to Fred, your sourdough starter. How I could relate!! LOL!! In any event, it's so nice to meet you and I look forward to a little binge watching here!! Love and God Bless, Mary
Hi Mary! It's so great to connect with you, as I have followed your channel for quite a while! You have taught me many things through your wonderful videos. I didn't realize we had a mutual friend in Michele. She's such an inspiration! If someone as gifted as Mary from Mary's Nest can relate to me killing my dearly departed starter, Fred, then I'm in good company!😂 Thanks so much for watching and leaving this message. Continued blessings to you! ♥
@@thehomespunwife Daisy is my birth flower. Simple flower that gives all season long. But to be honest I am still scared to use sourdough. Am I the only one... and why am I like that? It seems so scary to 'grow' it. I know it doesn't make sense... maybe you could make a video on sourdough scared-y cats???
Sadly I have done something similar with the oven. The most recent was a couple weeks ago after we got over 15 inches of snow in a little over 24 hours, my husband and son shoveled snow for a widow a couple blocks away. She didn’t have any cash but she knew my husband loves chocolate cherry cake. So she made him one. After dishing up a couple pieces my son stuck it into the oven. Because our cats have been known to walk through the cake if out somewhere. The next day we decided to have pizza and neither my son or myself remembered the cake covered with plastic wrap until the oven reached the desired temperature. It broke my heart and my husband was so upset. Everything was going wrong and that was the cherry on top. I talked to the neighbor and asked if she could make one for Valentines Day. I will also be making Chicken Alfredo my husband’s favorite dish. Sorry for the passing of Fred. I want to try sourdough, but I am gluten free, and gluten free baking is a bit harder.
Hi Kathy! How nice of your husband and son to help your neighbor. I'm sure you were heartsick after mistakingly heating up the oven, forgetting the cake inside. I would say it happens more often than we know. So glad you have secured another cake for Valentine's Day...and that you are making your husband's favorite dish. Enjoy it!
I love getting my library books online! I’m into audiobooks too. It’s nice to be able to cook or clean while listening and I love not having late fees!!!
I love that series of Lancaster County Mysteries and have read all of them but two so will be looking for them.. I found them at our local library book sale. Got 20 books for $3.00. They were from Guideposts and I found them to be fast reading. You will enjoy them and will want to read some more from that series.
Hi Betty! Thanks so much for letting me know about the Lancaster Mystery books. You found a steal on all those books for $3.00. 🎉 I will keep my eyes open for more of these. Blessings to you!
I heard about your channel from Mary at Mary's Nest. I am happy to hear you mention the Libby app. We love the app here. My children and I like listening to audiobooks on the app. We also like to read books there, too. We are allowed to check out 10 books and put 15 on hold at a time. I don't know if each library sets that number themselves or if it the standard for the app? I look forward to watching more of your videos. God bless!
Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for watching. I sure do appreciate Mary for mentioning me. She is very thoughtful to do that! I am happy to hear that you and your children love the Libby app. I don't know many people locally who use it, so I think it's a well-hidden secret just waiting to be let out! Lol. Blessings to you and your family!
Hi Sis Sherry! 😃 It is wonderful to see your video today. Hope all is well with you and your family. I must say - You look amazing and blessed! Have a great rest of the week. Love you! P.S. Praying this cold winter weather ends sooner rather than later! 😅🙏🏽🤍
Hi Beth! Thank you so much for stopping by! I am very appreciative to Mary for mentioning my channel. I feel so humbled by it. The blueberry cobbler video was one of my early ones, when I was just starting out on RU-vid. The recipe is truly the easiest ever...and it's so good! I hope you like it. ♥
I do intend to make the blueberry cobbler but I decided tonight to use home canned peaches. We had your cobbler but with peaches instead and served it with ice cream for our supper dessert tonight. It was delicious!! 👍👍
Sherry, you made me chuckle with your killing off Fred. I don’t have any names but I thought the one suggestion calling it Ethel was clever, since I used to watch “I Love Lucy”. The books you bought look interesting. I wish we had a Goodwill store or Thrift shop where I live. I’m definitely looking forward to Spring and planting more tomatoes! God bless, my friend! ♥️
Hi Betsy! I love the name Ethel, too! My tomatoes were a flop last year but I have heard several RU-vidrs from the southeast saying they also had issues with them. Perhaps I will just live vicariously through your spring planting this year!!! Blessings to you, friend!♥
My husband and I watch an episode of I Love Lucy every night. We both have full time stressful jobs and it is a great way to end the day with laughter. We laugh out loud. So much better than the comedy shows of today.
This was a delightful video. I sure wish our Good Wills in my area were as nice as yours! I'm afraid ours are not so nice, but I frequent them for books, particularly religious fiction that is no longer easy to find - I managed to snag a copy of 'The Greatest Story Ever Told' just recently. I love Fulton Oursler and I am always on the lookout for his books. I also snagged a really old copy of Ben-Hur. I read a lot on my kindle - I am a voracious reader. I prefer my bibles, commentaries in physical copies because I like to flip open several at a time and annotate. But all of my other reading is pretty much online since the Kindle first came out. I love sour dough bread! I suggest 'Sally Starter' for your new starter. :D Have a lovely week!
Hi Kathy! I admire you for your avid reading and for your study of God's Word! You can never go wrong by studying in the Scriptures. Great suggestion for the starter name! Blessings to you!♥
You should dry some of your starter. I did a video on that. It’s easy to activate and back to full force in 2 to 3 days depending on the temp it is kept in.
Maybe your Lazy Day Cookbook was different then the one I received from Amazon. Mine had no pictures and the recipes were way too basic. Putting chicken in a crockpot with a cup of water is not a meal. It is poached chicken that I can make in 30 minutes on my stovetop which I add spices and garlic. So I'm sending it back. I realize you didn't write the book so I'm not blaming you.
Hi Eleanor! I purchased my live starter on Amazon. The name brand of the starter I bought is, "Breadtopia." They have videos on RU-vid to guide you through the process of feeding your starter and making the bread! I love your name suggestion for the starter! LOL I ended up dehydrating it for a couple months while I am busy doing so many projects with our berries, fruits, and herbs. But it's nice to know the starter is sitting there when I am ready to use it again!
