I want to share my appreciation for presenting yourself as a normal human being on the internet. I find myself here when I need a reminder to prioritize my mental state. Thank you xxx "You don't have to do everything in the morning" !!!

I'm just so so SO glad you talk about the lack of routine ! It's honestly surreal that I've been struggling with problems that are so similar. Thank u for some good amount of motivation to get out of my depressive episode and take small steps towards a better direction. Take care, sending warm hugs

I've never heard someone talk with adhd talk about routines that way and I feel like I've watched a decent amount of videos about adhd. It definetly makes me feel less depressed knowing I'm not alone with my adhd and lack of routine..thank you!

Amanda! Thank you for watching 🧡 yes maybe I want to be a little bit more open and vocal about adhd and how it impacts everyday routines/tasks because I rarely hear about it myself. And when I do have a look the videos are less personal and more how-to which I can’t say are my favourite kind of videos.

was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain (exercise, journaling, studying etc) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my habits - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT. After a really bad depression phase I started to believe I couldn’t change and I’d feel that horrible forever. Historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up.

Omg thank you for talking about how you both need/want structure but can't seem to keep it going! I desperately crave structure but once I finally get it, it's like I'm walking on a tightrope. Not necessarily wanting to rebel but it's like there's always something that'll mess it up-- I can never seem to get into a long term groove.

this video was sooo timely, been going through a very long depressive episode that got worse around my birthday. and yup on the whole habits being thrown away once it comes! i don't have adhd but i get so frustrated w/ myself because it takes me a very long time to focus on anything. something that would take any other person an hour, would take me two because the majority of that time i'm just trying to get my brain to cooperate lol. this was an (extremely appreciated) reminder that i can always come back to my routines, and that's it's ok to change them when they no longer work. why are u like literally my favorite person 😔❤️

Wow! Only five minutes into this and I can so relate to you. ADHD, HSP/EMPATH here. First thing I do when I get up is to reach for my headphone and start listening to my playlist to regulate my nervous system because I alway get up feeling “funky”. Then I head downstairs force myself to drink a bit of water while I make my matcha, I will also have a cup a coffee a bit later. I need to get up early so that I can spend at least an hour with myself before my house gets busy and noisy. Thank you for speaking so openly about this. I will continue listening. I just had to get this out….

The honesty and simplicity is so refreshing :) where does someone get Diagnosed for adhd? And is there medication especially for that? It's the first time I hear you mentioning that.
@dchouk2680
@dchouk2680 Год назад
Depends where you are, here in Ontario (Canada) you can be put on a waitlist by your doctor through the public health route (free/partially covered by health insurance) or private to go with a specific specialist and pay ~$2000, at least that's the price of the specialist I know. They walk through your life experiences and get references (usually family and long-time friends) talk about grades and/or work performance, then yes they usually recommend going on medication (typically stimulants like Adderall or Vyvanse) that help regulate an ADHD brain by steadily releasing dopamine to strengthen concentration and reduce impulsivity. ☀ Hope that helps!
@elianaa.4375
@elianaa.4375 Год назад
@@dchouk2680 thanks for the insight! That is indeed very expensive, but I'm in Europe so I think it differs and different things are covered by insurance. It's crazy to me that it comes down to money if you get treatment or even a diagnosis for an illness....the injustice of it... Wishing you the best!

You’ve been mentioning your adhd so much more recently, and sometimes I feel like you are acting a bit differently. I too have adhd , I think it’s really valuable to become aware and get diagnosed but not use it as excuse / make it change our personality ❤😊 just thoughts
@nina.montagne
@nina.montagne Год назад
An excuse? Lol. An excuse for what? And - Having a late diagnosis means that for the last 25+ years I’ve carried a lot of shame thinking that everything I’m experiencing is because of a personality defect. I talk about it freely now because I have the language and understanding that it is not so. It’s not that I have changed is that I’m now comfortable in myself.
@albita6398
@albita6398 Год назад
@@nina.montagne thanks for replying . I too got diagnosed only at 24 years old . I know how hard it is to have something affect your life in such a huge way and not being able to explain it. Having a brain that’s constantly overwhelmed and cluttered isn’t easy ! Maybe I wrote that wrong , I don’t mean ‘excuse’, more like crutch maybe? Sometimes i have to remind myself of all the many ways adhd can help me , and then the stuff that doesn’t fit with our society (impulses, daydreaming, hyper focus) I work on improving as best I can Thanks Nina
