Great work mate, glad to see you making regular content again. Down to earth chap working on his driveway that we can all relate to which is why your videos are so enjoyable. 👍🏻
Agreed...I remember doing a gearbox swap and clutch replacement to my Rover 820 Vitesse on my drive in the mid 2000s. Even though that was a big complex car for its time and I was dead smug about doing it, the Mondeo looks a much more involved job...subframes off etc. Kudos Using that motorcycle jack thing was a genius touch. Did the rear subframe on my Jag X-Type a couple of years ago (subframe is identical to a Mondeo 2 estate) and if I'd had one of those Jack's, it would have saved calling my brothers over just for 10 minutes to lift it while I lined it up and got the bolts in!!
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Braden Jefferson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Brilliant James your a great macanic. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car to you.well done to you give yourself a pat on the back . Job well. Done.. I Wish I had your confidence to tackle a job like that.
Fair play to mate I'm 75 years of age and you brought back old memories I was you outside my house 50years ago I know the bus I was called Garden side motors by my mates 👍
The Mrs' clutch on her Mk2 Focus CC went a couple of days before this video was released. She has the 2.0 Duratec engine, and the process was almost identical to this. Your videos were the most helpful information i could see, better than the Haynes manual, so from me to you, i thank you greatly! Incidentally, her gearbox (i weighed it) was 36kg. In such a small space, being positioned so awkwardly, reseating it was hard work, and i do not have a gearbox, or motorbike jack.... my solution was to wrap a couple of straps around it, and lift it from the top, while my mate buried in the wheel arch lined it up and pushed it on, i then grab a jackstand and shove it underneath so he could let go, not gonna lie, it took us a while and i was about to give up. Ive been a long time subscriber, the coincidence that i needed this info, and this time is unreal, keep up the good work. I've mentioned this before, but isnt it time you launched some merch? Specifically Savage Garage overalls. What you saying?
Having just done the clutch on my wife’s r50 mini on the road, i can say always gives you great satisfaction when completed, done a lot that way and still get same satisfaction each time
Love the 'No bolts left over' comment... always worrying when there's a couple of set screws and a detent ball left over ha! Yes I have the T shirt. Enjoy your videos - thanks.
Nice work James - I’m just amazed at how familiar that engine bay is to me and i’ve never worked on or owned a Ford! I have however worked on a lot of volvos and recognise a lot of parts in there and I’m sure some JLR stuff to and goes to show if you cAn fix one ypu can fix them all. Well done mate patience of. Saint to do it all on the drive and even more patience to film yourself doing it! 👍🏽
Awesome as usual James. Watching your video’s gave me the confidence to carry out jobs on my car that I wouldn’t have before. I have done bits over the years but I recently had the front end off my Megane R26 to replace the alternator and radiator and just before that I replaced the starter motor. I’d just like to thank you for uploading video’s like this that have helped me to save a hell of a lot of money in garage fees. Cheers mate 👍🏻
You have made a fantastic job of that, you are a marvel, I think that noise you had was because you didn't have your seat belt on as mine does that if I haven't got the belt on and it also does it when the passenger hasn't got their belt on but then I suppose you have worked that out now.
dunno if it was just me but the way you was going ham on that pump looked extreme! especially the sped up footage :) good job tho man, was looking forward to this next episode and u didnt dissapoint.
Well done chap. I follow so many chanells but always love yours. No BS , just to the point. Keep up the great work. I. Am ancient and would have been doing this, if I had been in your position years ago. Love the channel.
right front light- massive Yellowing on the bottom end. a good high pressure wash in the wheel wells ... and she is ready to be sold and serve someone else as a daily driver. Well done, Sir, my hat's off to you.
Great job once again James, and your reaction is always a priceless touch to the videos... I have watched you grown since day one and truely deserve and will achieve much more from your content!
James I am gassed that this all worked I never thought it wouldn’t!!! Guarantee if you start a job you smash it!!! This is why we have your stickers on our cars 👌👊
Good man!!! And thank you for the videos. Your channel has helped me tackle my smax clutch. Very informative, just a guy working on his car in his drive. Top man 👍
Great video good job by you Well done I enjoyed the clutch videos just going to say 1 thing n it's not putting you down don't put your keys in that cup holder there is a airbag plug in thing down there n the key makes it go pop n your airbag light comes on until you put a new 1 in I know this because it happened to me just to let you know that's all if your keeping the car
Thanks for uploading... I'll soon have to change the engine, clutch and so on myself without a lift. Now I know what to do and what to look out for. Thanks ;) Greetings from switzerland
Great work mate glad to see it running again not easy working on the drive do this myself but it’s well worth it in the end and feeling chuffed with the results
Awesome james. Always a great feeling after doing so much work to feel it work as it should iv reacted exactly like that a few times :) now then, when you getting that arch welded on the other mondeo iv been eagerly awaiting since last June lol. Great video dude.
Thanks for doing these things on your driveway! I would love to start on something like this but covid has seen to that for a while! Enjoy everything! Cheers!!
I cant believe you got that box back on on your own on the floor 😂 job well done I say 👍🏽😎 I do this day in day out on the floor but I have a friend help me get them back on 😂
Well done!!! What an absolute ball ache that job must have been, having to do it on the driveway. You've definitely earned your RU-vid Like and comment.
im loving my mk4 mondeo too but your dash tone was an an engine message, check the messages on the clocks to see or see if engine lights on, could be cos battery was off or is a low bat as that will do it too, great car, after refitting battery let car idle for 10 min to allow systems to relearn, gd luck
Ace video James I'm a home mechanic been tinkering since I was 10 I'm now 52 love it when you get the end result you hoped for gives you a real buzz only today did I change the auxiliary belt on my friends Mini easy job but still a great feeling 😀
