For fans of The Fifth Element, this model miniature will be instantly recognizable as the Mondoshawan ship from the beginning of the film. But as Adam Savage learns as he gets up close to the details of this prop, it's actually a study model created in pre-production to allow the director and production team to approve and refine the form of the ship. This beautiful model shows how effective kitbashing and paint weathering can be to convey design ideas, and is itself a lovely artifact from the days of practical model miniature work in film.
