I had two five dollar jugs one jug i put single dollar bills "over 8k" the other all change "over 1,800" It took me about a year. Took my wife, then babies mama to paradis island Bahama. The short period of time is because I was running a marijuana dispensary in early 90's "no regrets"
❤When I first got married I had no car and when I got pregnant, my auntie who was a waitress at Denny’s had been saving her tips for a couple of years. She used her tips to buy me a nice used car so I wouldn’t be struggling for my OB appointments. I will never forget that❤😢
My grandpa started one of these when i was born and everyday he came home and emptied and change and loose 1 or 5 dollars bills in there and occasionally threw in the random big bill... He gave it to me at 25 and it had $22,843 in it and my sisters was done by my granny and hers had about $18,700 ... I sure miss my Nana and Papa ❤❤❤❤❤
Hey, don't feel too bad, this isn't that much better. Every time they added a penny into this jug & not into a savings account, they were devaluing that money. This shows lack of financial literacy.
I started mine January 1999. Fell on hard times and had to buss it open October 2014 & it was 3/4 full. After 3hrs of counting, I had $11,277!! I couldn't believe it & it helped me tremendously that year
If you would have bought apple stock instead of letting it just sit there, you would have $5 million. Don’t let your money sit losing its buying power to inflation folks. Invest it.
Every year I throw the coins I have on me at the end of each day in a jar then cash them up for Christmas. I use it for a few nights in a nice hotel for me and my daughter. Since she was a teenager that's what we do. No cooking, cleaning or laundry! I take all the presents with us, cover the suite in Christmas lights and candles, we watch films, get room service, have 5 course Christmas Dinner in the restaraunt on Christmas day and go for walks along the river at night. It's our tradition now.
@@FLo-jc7ig we meet up with my daughters siblings on Christmas Eve to exchange presents, get hot chocolate from the Christmas Market and do stuff like that, and we see my younger brother and sister in law in between Christmas and New Year. For much of my adult life my family have all lived in different countries and there have been strained relations between certain members due to a very difficult upbringing, the details of which are not for airing out publicly on a youtube comment section. Not only that but myself and my siblings all married ppl from other countries and they too have families they would like to visit at that time of year. Perhaps you should withhold judgement on the lives of strangers that you know nothing about, you come across as quite nasty and judgemental.
That so nice ,rent a hotel room .I don't celebrate Xmas claws but this sounds like a great idea ,I am gonna just do this in summer vacation time for me n my 4 kids . they're in their 40s now.but it's ok we can still do this each summer for 4 nights.ty ,for sharing with us .❤😊

One year I simply emptied what I had, for Christmas.. and the kids and I rolled all, I had $600.00 , I was so shocked.. that helped so much. As a single mom.
Well, it doesn’t take me and hubby that long to fill one of these up at all. We have so many of these deer park bottles in our attics it’s crazy. Sense the 90’s.
🗣Repent Israelites all praise to the most high YAHAWAH AND HIS SON YAHAWASHI🤴🏽🛸🦁👑🔥 The so called black man, Latino, and Native Americans are the Israelites. Yahawah chosen people. That are scattered in all nations through our fathers. Making them Israelite foreigners/Scattered sheep/The multitude. Yahawashi speaking: Matthew 15:24 “But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel Deuteronomy 7:6 “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 32:39 “See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” Luke 12:51 “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:”
I'm so bad at saving money that luckily some planets aligned up there and made me earn more. Anyway it's time to start doing it seriously, hard times happen, it's better to be prepared
God bless your Auntie for her generosity. You are truly to be blessed with such loving and caring people around . God bless you always and keep your family safe. ❤❤❤❤❤
@@irmasmith159 exactly,in Malaysia most people do this. When they need it for an emergency or to buy something. They open the box or tank. A very good idea👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰
My grandfather always saved every penny he always joked it was my father's inheritance fund. After his death while cleaning out his home we found 38 5 gallon buckets filled to the brim with change and one dollar bills squirreled away in different corners and closets. After several trips back-and-forth to the bank with a wagon a total was around $50,000 just in change. 💚
Force yourself to put an extra bill (regardless of denomination) in there whenever you do that! You find a way to get by without it, and then you'll have even more to play with
Word of advice if you ever do this.. Keep the pennies out of it! You'll thank me later! Also dont use one of those coin counting machines! You lose a lot of what you saved for that thing to count your stuff and you have no verification of its accuracy! Get some coin sleeves, grab the kids, and start stacking coins!
@@fine_goldI don't know if they would could put that big of a savings. We had to roll them and put account number on there and take to bank to cash it.
My mom did this for me as a little kid and I ended up having close to 700 bucks in it. It was just assorted change, no bills. But it was pretty cool watching it fill up over the years.
I was saving for a year for my granddaughter and i had,, putting $1,,5,,10,,20,,50,,@nd sometimes 100,,..also coins..And i have $7,162,45 cents...My daughter buy a car and took her to ""DISNEYLAND""..IT WAS GREAT AND WONDERFUL..❤💯
Aussie here, over 2 decades ago, my son saved in a 15L water bottle and had lots of $1 and $2 coins. Our local small town bank did not have a counting machine so guess who helped count and bag the coins. That was how he paid for his first overseas trip
I filled one of those 5 gallon jugs with just dimes, nickels, and pennies. It took me about 15 years to fill it to the top. I ended up with $815.27. I also had a 1 gallon jug I used for quarters. It would hold around $300, and I could fill it up within a year or two.
I would do exactly the opposite and only save quarters. Saving pennies seems like a waste. They are just heavy and you need 100 just to get to one dollar. Then you have to roll them all. It just doesn’t seem very smart.
@@zoiefinnian3540 then what would you do with the pennys? Throw them away? Go out with a pocket full of Penny? I’m confused why you would even say that
@CelestialGatez Just stop and start fresh, it's never too late. Everyday is new start. What you do today will impact your future. Have a great day and a fresh start!!!
@@LuccianoNovaby my math you both are wrong lol Quarter weighs 5.6 grams , 1lb = 453.5grams 81 quarters would make 1 pound($20.25) (5.6×81=453.6) 20.25 (1 pound) x 275 (weight) $5,568.75 should be your total
he’s down out not telling my the truth. I saved a quarter of a 5gallon bottle- saved all change except Pennies and just a quarter of it was like 6k. If it had been all quarters it wouldve been waaaay more.
@@missymarie2698 Yeah, you caught me, there was actually $250,000 in there. I was trying to keep it a secret. Bought a new house and car with it, Sherlock.
I would love to know how long that took! When my son was little I used to save my change from the end of every day all year and when we got to Thanksgiving I'd count it up and transfer for bills and we'd go to PA for a long weekend and cut down our own Christmas tree! I know it's a much smaller scale but that change bought us at least 8 years of happy memories 😊
Sister I will stop and pick up pennies. It’s seldom that I will leave them on the ground when they’re in reach and obviously free of environmental damage. There are so many coins to look for that have worth a lot more than their face value. Coin stacking and collecting is a hobby and a habit, I suppose. I hope that you find a few good ones. BTW, if you find a quarter with the W mint mark do your research on those. 😉💵
Side hustle ? Living in ny I’ve noticed to save a good bit always takes a side hustle I love fireworks and they ain’t cheap so all my “saving” is boom money 😂😂😂
@smackdatt123 sell stuff , it’s not hard at all … the whole ones man’s trash is another man’s treasure always spoke to me but I made it one man’s trash is just another dollar in my pocket , if you post a few things a week you’ll get a lot more views on listings then once people start buying more you can work on price a little 50 dollars a day is close to 20k at the end of the year and it’s very manageable if you just put in the work and dedication
Yes I did the same thing. I filled up on what a journey just like the one that's being cut open I put all kinds of change and bills whatever I had a moose in my pocketbook. At the time I didn't know what I was going to do with the money but. But I did open it up and I had about $20,000 and I bought my first boat it was a walkthrough when with a Mercury motor I had that phone for many many many many many many many many many many many years and I enjoyed every moment of it. I was about 25 then I'm 79 now . Have fun with the money God bless
It’s a piggy bank robbery. Now you could afford to buy a couple of Starbucks’ Caffe Latte’s. 😂 P.S. Make sure you don’t have any valuable coins that could be worth a small fortune.
I raised my girls alone. Even on food stamps I had some change when I got home a few nights a week. It wasn't much. I couldn't afford an allowance for them. But they used the change from the glass piggy when they wanted something badly enough. Made them really value what they spent their money on. I never judged good or bad. They learned it on their own. If they were truly upset about a bad purchase, I cleaned out the car, pockets, and purses to scare up a little more for the piggy. Soon they had enough to get the better item without too much shame. Poverty is a matter of perspective. It's not what you buy, it's how you use value and learn from it.
Thank you for your comment. I went through the same thing I raised 4 kids by myself on pennies and dimes. I was a waitress. In the evening after my shift I would come home with lots of coins in my appron pockets n the kids would count all the money so that I could go buy groceries. bye.
I started 1. It's only 1/4 full. But these comments are very encouraging. Especially the one about the $18.000. May you all live long and prosperous in positivity 😊
I'm gonna try it, I have a large jug just like that. I put all my coins in it & 1 dollar inside. I will continue saving. God bless everybody who is trying to save as well. Times are very hard these days. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤
I had a similar find when I bought a Storage unit at auction. Two 5 gallon jugs filled with Quarters. I won the Bid on the Locker at $23. You think I came out ahead?
@@KymJones-l2u, it's really not though, because it's GONNA HAPPEN. It's INEVITABLE. It's been their plan for some time now... there's NOTHING we can do.
I like cash . Because paying $5,$10 dollars to give someone a $25,$50 gift card is wild when you could just give them $30,$60 in cash. But cards are convenient and could used in the palm of my hand
Must be nice to be able to save coins. Every penny we got we have to count and use. I'm still happy for anyone who is able. God bless and save as much as you can. Keep it up.
