The Mongols Market has some bonuses that could be benefited from: Yam Network Speed and the Trader Stack Bonuses. Let's talk about the market in a more relaxed 1v1 Platinum game and look at some alternative strats on how to use it, without placing the Silver Tree in the corner. I will go through some principles that I use to make quick profits and create an efficient army with trade.
Flexible, efficient and less risky, especially for lower levels :
NO market in the corner
NO Silver Tree (which I don't use)
As we go through the ages, the principles are as follows:
1. Dark Age - Scout for the best market position and plan your trade route. Then build up your strategy and have 100 extra wood ready.
2. Feudal Age, build your initial army, get Wheelbarrow and start building traders slowly when you can afford them. Ideally you will create them without interruption. Place your market near your TC, but in the opposite direction of the trading post. The video will clarify this
- The Deer Stones have a hidden bonus for traders too: They are faster if the trade route has towers along it. Therefore, place villagers along the trading like and defend the area with towers. Faster traders means more gold.
- Leave around 6 villagers on gold to have steady income for Mangudai and Keshik and eventually for the age-up.
- Keep a few cavalry units along the trade-line, because towers won't be enough to defend a cavalry raid. Alternatively, use spearmen for this.
- By minute 10, you should build a second trading post, closer to the corner, especially if you are safe from raids.
-Aim to have 15 traders until age-up and take the trader bonuses into consideration
