In this keynote, given at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington, DC, Monique Trusclair Maddox discusses how she has processed learning that her ancestors were enslaved to the Jesuits. She currently serves as the CEO of the Descendants Truth and Reconciliation Foundation, which brings together Jesuits and descendants of those enslaved to Jesuits to address historical and contemporary issues of racism.
