i got a new dell all in one pc at work recently and i was telling my tech guy i needed a webcam for video chatting coworkers because my old computer had one built into the top of the screen. he walked up pressed the top of my pc and the camera popped up, i was amazed lol. works great

I had a really weird realization this episode. Jono usually gets addressed when he's behind camera... But when I've seen him on screen before, I don't think he's ever been directly addressed by name. I couldn't have told you Jono's name by seeing his face or name him on sight. Could have sworn he was two completely different people.

Dell's ultrawides have had that for years, they also charge up to 100W over the usb-c. And if you use their driver, you can also assign a keyboard shortcut to switch between inputs. The one downside of this screen (that they didn't mention) is that if you switch between computers, it also switches the RJ45 so you lose network. So for switching often it's not that usable to connect the network to it.

my hp monitor from about 2008 indicates that the webcam part isn't that new, it just seems unpopular for various reasons, such as when the monitor reaches ten or so years in age the high-quality webcam is now shit tier if it can even work w modern software

I've got the same funcionality on Philips 346P1CRH - KVM, Windows Hello,PD90W,HDR,100Hz and integrated webcam. It doesn't have Teams certification but it works just fine.

Honestly if it was 144Hz it would be the perfect 2-in-1 monitor for today's constant home-office quarantine world. Built-in KVM for switching between your personal PC and work laptop, it's perfect. I'm basically already doing this, but I have a separate switch for the monitor and for the USB hub, so I have to click two buttons on two boxes to flip everything between the computers, but having all that stuff built in to one monitor sounds like a dream.

I really like they added subtitles in this video, but there's a missing line in 0:59 that causes the whole subtitles messed up. Which should he added: "With a 3800R curvature, which is I guess it's pretty typical nowadays." And also an unnecessary line at 4:13 - 4:39 because it's not spoken anywhere in the video that makes the subtitles even more messed up. (I think because the video is edited) Please fix it.

1:47 Yes, don't lift the monitor out. Just open up the packaging a bit so that you can fit the stand in. When The stand is locked in place, lift up the monitor from the box with the stand attached (holding on to the stand). Easier and more safe.

@@trapical The one I have vertical actually is an ultrawide curved monitor. Its because it was my old main monitor and I ended up getting a higher resolution ultrawide curved as my main later on. Personally I think its really useful in vertical position, when im gaming its great for having wiki pages up or discord, I can view tons of content or chat history while im playing.

At work I found an old crappy webcam to use since lots of meetings are video calls now. I have to remove it after every meeting since it blocks parts of the screen because of the thin bezels. And If its not on top of the monitor (and thus blocking parts of the screen) the angle is crap. So an integrated webcam with good quality that can be blocked physically and are always in a good position to get a good angle sounds great. And it doesnt need extra cables. Sounds like a great monitor for lots of offices or home workers right now. Probably too expensive though.

I'd like to suggest content: an "all bought" system build challenge. No used parts, no pre-built systems, highest frames in cyberpunk 2077 wins (1440p, high, no rt, no dlss). Challenge as many other yt channels as possible. $2000 usd max. Must buy windows, a case, >900gb ssd, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headphones or speakers. Measured fps is capped at the refresh rate of the monitor. (No mentioning your YT channel to any sellers!)

I'm waaaaay to early. But content related: I would like to adjust the webcam myself, so why have this?

Sensible default for companies I'm guessing. Maybe some small benefits like that thing in development for Microsoft Surface devices where they adjust your pupils so it looks like you're looking at camera instead of screen below camera in online meetings.
