In the latest episode of Monk, Monk solves the fashion show killer case through speaking with Pablo who was arrested for suspected murder.
Season 4, Episode 10 "Mr. Monk Goes to a Fashion Show": Monk is facing a crisis: he's down to five shirts. However, Inspector No 8, the only shirt inspector who can meet Monk's criteria for perfection, is not up to her usual standards. Sensing that something is wrong, Monk visits No 8 on the job. The inspector, Maria Ortiz, informs him that her son, Pablo, has been imprisoned for murdering a fashion model.

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

This was definitely an episode that stood out to me. This whole thing came about because Monk noticed something wrong with a shirt from his favorite inspector. His stubbornness in regards to his wardrobe saved someone from wrongful imprisonment!

It's always disappointing when instead of doing the right thing and report a murder to the police, someone decides to blackmail a murderer in this series. This especially goes for Gordo, who's job is to do the right thing as a forensic scientist. Though I will admit he was smart to use his position to ensure he's still alive. Other blackmailers in the show end up dead for their trouble; granted, the ones from the Game Show and the 12th Man survive because the former's killer never thought of offing him (yet) while the latter's killer could only narrow down his blackmailer to 12 people (simple dumb luck).

He didn’t know they were Monk’s hair, because he didn’t test them and wanted to keep framing the wrong guy for Fashion Designer’s crime. That was the point: Monk wanted to prove Forensic Guy was lying about the hairs’ DNA, since Forensic Guy *knew* all the DNA from the crime scene matched Fashion Designer’s DNA-hence, why Forensic Guy was *blackmailing* him for it, in exchange for pinning all the evidence on a different guy, a scapegoat. Forensic guy was going to lie about the hairs’ DNA regardless if he tested them or not, since Monk and the police claimed the hairs belonged the Fashion Designer, and Forensic Guy couldn’t have that, lest he stop getting blackmail money and the truth of the actual murderer was revealed.

They should have used someone else's hair, someone random from the hotel. If the forensics dude had run them and come up with Adrian Monk, he'd know they were wise to him. He could claim they were Julian's or just skip town on what money he had...

This is so dumb. Monk and Ortiz have BLACK hair and the actual murderer has pure white hair. Blood all looks the same but no one noticed that the white hair supposedly came from a 20 something Hispanic guy?
