Well looks like it’s time to build a 5th mono-white deck… I blame Eddie.

I love Elesh Norn! The way I personally like to play her is with a focus on the cards with flash since a lot of them have nice controlling effects, synergy with effects like Welcoming Vampire, Mentor of the Meek, and Oketra's Monument, as well as sometimes just allowing you to kill out of nowhere as you just flash a bunch in right before your turn then pump them all with Elesh Norn.

Heres a cheap upgrade to the making tokens spells, Finale of Glory. X ww, make X 2/2 white soldier token with vigilance, if X is 10 or more also create X 4/4 white angel tokens with flying and vigilance. This is about $2-3

Since Elesh Norn is one of the 5 Preators, it would be great to see builds around the others as well, to include the Preators with different texts (i.e. Jin-Gitaxias Core Auger, and Progress Tyrant, as well as Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Monstrous Raider.)

The tradeoff of Harmonious Archon is that it turns Elesh Norn into a 3/3 and she doesn't buff herself. This makes her *really* susceptible to bolting, so maybe watch out if there's a red player at the table

Draw Package has some awkward choices, even for a budget build. Sunset Pyramid, Mazemind Tome, Spare Supplies, and Investigator's Journal are all cheap and consistent ways to draw an extra card each turn. Sure, they have some limitations, but will be a "pay 2, draw a card" in nearly every scenario.

Elesh Norn's sitting in the 99 of my Odric (Master Tactician) brew with a heavy emphasis on enchantments, especially Overwhelming Splendor, and the deck has at least 12 or more legendary creatures, all focused on helping the deck do what it needs to do.

Now the Rumor Gatherer would be a nice addition, helping with card selection and draw

i was frustrated with my local meta a while back and i wanted to make elesh norn with crovax ascended in the 99 or vice versa. a friend of mine told me not to do it cause it would just make me a huge target and now i wanna do it! imma start from your decklist tho.

Dang, no mention of a Crovax, Ascendant Hero? That seems like such a great one. It boosts your white creatures and shrinks all non-white creatures. With that Archon it would be even more busted!

Token beat down is a pretty common thing for white,at least it is in my playgroup

This would upgrade well too. Urborg(legal in any color edh deck) + kormus bell + elesh = no lands for your opponents.

Im glad its not stax cuz now i get to keep my thalia/mina deck and make this a $50 budget tokens deck. Definitely swapping out some instants, putting in gift of immortality for protection, and adding more ramp/land search/mana rocks. Gift of estates is crucial and so are kor cartographer of we are being budget and not having access to archaomancers map or land tax; i will run monologue tax for sure.

I imagine the average cmc of this deck is pretty high. So in mono white with mono white card draw and ramp, or lack there of you want to telegraph that eventually you’re going to cast Elish norn. Maybe it’s just my playgroup but I feel like that’s asking to be focused. Very cool idea though

Another consideration for token makers is the all but unknown Springjack Shepherd. 3W for a 1/2 that makes a 0/1 Goat for each White pip on permanents you control. Basically a Reverent Hoplite that costs one less in exchange for making 0/1s.

Add in Crovax, Hero Ascended for a 6 point difference in power/toughness from your creatures vs your opponents. Or throw in Cresendo of War and make it a race of excess combat damage dealing.

I've had a similar deck to this for years. Unfortunately it really can't keep up with a lot of other decks until you pump money into the mana base. Otherwise it takes 7 turns to cast Elesh and your opponents probably have a way to get rid of it.

Seems reasonable but I would make it aggro or midrange. Norn really doesn't lend herself to control because half the effect would be wasted if you aren't swinging almost every turn

TCG shipping is wack.(Yes I understand shipping) 6 lands (Plain) was over 6$ because the seller it chose for me ended up being only for 6 lands but a 5.99$ shipping few. Of course, I removed it, but still. With the 6 lands optimized up to damaged cards total was 55$ for all 100 cards in this decklist.

I'm so sad that Eiganjo Uprising has red in its identity. That card would be so crazy with Elesh Norn. The 2/2s that opponents get would immediately die, while yours would be 4/4s.

Mono white is amazing if people don’t mind you playing stax because you could easy have everyone tapped down with it

This is a well built and powerful tokens deck. This is not a control deck. Great deck building, but you missed the mark on what was asked for, I think, Mitch. I still enjoyed the video!

The card draw is terrible, even for mono white. You could easily fit in Flumph, which is imo the best white card draw spell printed. Every game it's played I'm drawing 3 cards per turn cycle. I also really like Mask of Memory, and Rogue's gloves. Yes they're combat dependant, but you should be able to get through. These three are all repeatable forms of card draw, drops the curve significantly, and are way less mana intensive which allows you more flexibility to cast your other spells.

I'll go ahead and say it... Mitch I love you brotha but this is not control 🥲. I know it's very hard to build a budget friendly control deck in mono white so I forgive you.

Lmao mono red is by far the worst color in the format. Imagine not having any responses to enchantments. They tried to kind of make it an artifact color, but it's just 2nd class compared to blue artifacts. Yeah, I guess it can get cheese wins, but the absolute lack of control red has compared to every other color (no enchantment removal is a very, very big deal) just sucks. It doesnt have control. It has board wipes, which are stall, but they hit your stuff too. How does red deal with indestructible creatures? It can't. Red can basically only deal damage. How does it deal with problematic enchantments? It can't. The only exception to this is chaos warp, which they made objectively worse in commander compared to what it used to be because now you can't use it to make people shuffle their commander away. Compare to path, swords, condemn, erase, disenchant, and so on. On top of that, when I last played Test of Endurance and Felidar sovereign were still legal in commander. I just checked, they still are. White is the life gain color. Mono White is not the worst color in commander by a long shot. What a ridiculous take. White is also arguably better than red for tokenspam. Red might be able to get out more tokens, but white will put them out, protect them, and buff them up. Green also gets all that removal stuff, but it's just usually tied to an etb effect on a creature, and so it costs more. It also gets massive blockers that red really doesnt have access to. Most big red creatures have huge power and 1 toughness, so they die to shock. Blue can just counter anything - even things that say uncounterable - except the few rare cards with split second, so it defacto has answers to everything. They have cyclonic rift and polymorphs jest which can get around basically everything you can put on something to protect it. Black has ways to either kill or make people sac everything and tutors to look for those things. Red literally has fuck all. The competition for "worst solo color" in edh is down to red or green, and my money is on red. It can do damage, or it can do artifact shenanigans, but you'd probably be better off doing that in blue, so it really just has damage and board wipes and a few cheeses. Every color has cheese though.
