We have a Thermador dishwasher - it was the ONLY dishwasher in the entire Atlanta metro area during the pandemic with a lighted interior. I called around for weeks before I found one. Anyhow, it has been excellent, and has run at least 2 loads a day in the 3-1/2 years we’ve had it. There hasn’t been one item that has come out still dirty after a wash, and with the zeolite dry on it, it dries much better than anything else we’ve had. My mom comes to visit often and she loves it so much she asked me to order one for her home to replace an old Bosch she has that’s near EOL.
Went appliance shopping for our new custom home. We were fairly set on Thermador as we had a good experience with our last kitchen. However, Monogram really impressed us. The Monogram shelving, doors, racks, handles and cooking tech feel and seem superior to Thermador right now. We’re leaning Monogram!
I haven't owned a lot of high end ranges but hands down one of the best ranges for both cooktop and oven that I've ever cooked on was my grandmother's high end GE gas range that she bought in the late 90s. It only had one high output burner and a single oven but I've never seen a more even oven, the cooktop was a dream for everything except stir-fry (it was just shy of being hot enough to get wok hei) and it broiled steaks really well. My grandparent's house was the Sunday family dinner spot and she was older so I did most of the family dinner cooking for 10+ years. I can see how a higher end Monogram would be an excellent range.
This was the exact comparison I did last yr. We ended up going with Monogram mainly because we couldn’t get comfortable with the 1/2 free configurations and I worried a bit about service for thermador.

Can you comment on the induction cooktops? This was missed in review
Which do you recommend for when looking at good service, electric all (trying to get my carbon footprint down so no gas), I love and need a stove while needing that extra oven for holidays and some just normal meals as I have a big family. Refrigerator and freezer I would like a side by side without water possibility panel. Except I don't want to pay $5,000 + for just one of them. Thank you for the recommendation for the dishwasher. I have been watching your channel for a few years and we are just about to buy our big appliances. This would be my husband and I's first time and I want to get it right.
@@YaleAppliance1 That I am not sure how high. I just go and look at all that is talked about and I feel like I could be putting a down payment on a car. I know for good quality you pay for, but I guess the prices just seem really high. 🤷
I laugh when I hear _GE_ and _service_ in the same chapter. When I called for service for my three-month-old refrigerator I got a phone clerk whose baby squawled so loudly I couldn't hear the woman. I politely suggested that she might put the baby in the other room so I could hear her, and she said "I'm sorry if my baby is an inconvenience for you." That experience with GE customer service has made a permanent Bosch customer of me, except for my Speed Queen washer and dryer.
