Monolith 12" THX Subwoofer: Amazon: amzn.to/2Yo6mM7 Exclusive (and AWESOME) home theater / gaming t-shirts at the Merch Store to support the channel!👇🏾: teespring.com/stores/villaman-store
For anyone who's on the fence between mono 10 and pb 1000 for movies and gaming , get the mono. I had the pb bought the mono to compare it and ended up returning the pb 1000. You won't regret it, this thing shakes my 3 story house.
They claim svs is the best but it's really not just another China made brand they're paying for 3 letters across the front for what?? Just ta sit inside the living so they can say stupid shit like it aint better then this svs I got lol😂
I can get this sub used for $350 locally. Worth it? What should I look for regarding problems? Check the woofer? How do the woofers hold up after a few years old?
I have a 5.1.4 Monolith THX setup in my theater with a pair of these and with just running Audyssey (no miniDSP in the signal) they are flat down to 12Hz in my room with one port plugged, which is about 4Hz lower than I was wanting/expecting, so I’m very happy :)
Hi there! I bought 2 t-shirts from your store, bass of course. But i couldent find the one that you have in the video. I would like 2 of them if its possible! Mvh/Peter from Sweden
In a room that big, yeah, the 13s would be fine. Those 13s are absolute beasts!! Will you be calibrating them via a nice AVR like a Denon? I know they do a nice job with room calibration and subs.
Good day my friend, that's a really good review you put up. I've teetered between the 12s and the 15s by "Mono" for some time. Regardless, I'm still breaking in new Polks currently (have you heard the RTiA line?).
@@ThaVillaMan Next up are the Elevations to compliment the Paradigm Millenia 30's I have on the wall - to use as height speakers and we should be done..:)
I got the SVS Pb 2000 pro for some reason when I plug it up to my receiver it doesn't work that well it's really low I cranked up the volume to 5.5 and still it doesn't sound that great I'm thinking about going with this one what do you think
@@morganscott8535 Oh man Monolith put up their price. It was $500 back then. I ended up with the PB2k pro, it is an absolute beast. Everyone is blown away when I show them. I'm trying to re-arrange my room in order to fit two.
@@Big_Dogg31 no issues, no distortion and it seem like they never bottom out. using a dual setup also helps alot in "distributing" the lfe so instead of running a single sub HOT so it produces enough bass to ur liking, run duals or more at half gain and extends the life and bass sounds way better. next yr itll be 3 yrs without issues, also comes with a 5 yr warranty. monoprice is definitely putting in the work when it comes to their monolith thx products.
Love your videos Villaman, you make very informative videos in a laid back fashion and atmosphere. I think you have found a great niche!! Keep em coming!
Hi sr. I hope you got a great Thanksgiving. Sorry for bother you, can I send you a file of my measurement using rew and umik 1? I don't know if the graphic is ok or I have to do more measurements
Hi, can you maybe help.. I can't choose between the 10 and 12 inch.. does the 10 inch really make a impact when watching movies. Or is it just "nice" My room is 9 ft by 29ft and 8ft high.. And the Monolith are in discount. 10 inch = 550 euro (800 normal price) 12 inch = 750 euro (1200 normal price) Subwoofer position is 8 feet from my sitting position What would you recommend? Thank you for the help
Hey, with that sized room I’d recommend the biggest sub you can afford. Multiple would be ideal- especially to pressurize a room like that. So I’d recommend one 12” now and another one when you can
When you pause to a music or movie, can you hear and actually feel ( in the woofer) any interference? I got the 10" and I was wondering if it is like that or mine has a problem
@@ThaVillaMan maybe I didn't explain well. When the light is Green in the back, and you aren't playing any music or movie, I mean the sub and your speakers are kind of mute. Can you feel a little interference in your sub? You have to put your ear near to the speaker to hear it. A friend got a 12" Monolith and he has that interference as well. So we are wondering if all monolith are like those or just ours.
@@georgexydous2891 i went with pb 2000 pro i bought it like 7 months ago i retuned it 1 month ago it was a good subwoofer but i just needed more output and needed for it to be louder i’ve seen videos where the monolith thx subwoofer has more output and is louder but it doesn’t have the svs app. i returned my pb 2000 pro and am just gonna make my own with the dayton ultimax 18 inch driver and a xls 1002 amp it would have way more output than any of them and go even deeper in a well made box tuned to 20hz.
Power sound audio just put all the sub manufacturers on notice with their new 18 inch sub for 1000 bucks. Before that the hsu 15 was the best sub under 1000.
Even without it being tested or even available yet? Under 1k, I would probably go with hsu research for now. Once more Info on the new psa value line is out there, who knows. ?
You do what you want audioholics tested every single monolith and it’s on par with svs subs. Why ? Because it’s the same engineer that designed for svs that made monolith. This has been confirmed on the avs forum. You take your chances how you see fit. I can tell you this, one just one 10inc monolith destroyed my 2 18 inch JBL (very good brand no matter what people say) subs driven by 1500w. I will not spend more on ridiculousness I leave that to others to do.
@@georgexydous2891 Hey man I actually got the pb 2000 pro and it rocks! I chose the svs mainly bc the svs and monolith perform very closely while the monolith gives a bit more output
@@RJ-xj3ct thanks man. I live in Greece and here the prices are insane! I can get an used SVS (almost new) at the same price for a new monolith, for1160 dollars. Moreover the exchange program doesnt work here, otherwise it would be a huge factor to me as well.
@@georgexydous2891 oh man ur right the prices outside the states are crazyyy. If the app controls and eq is important to you the SVS is the better pick. The monolith wins in pure output by a little bit. The monoprice customer service also kinda sucks while svs customer service always has people who know what they are talking about.
