Honestly, bravo 👏 You deserve 8 flushes for all this work. Unreal. I don’t cut my tubs AT ALL, it’s been 3+ years of growing... and I still don’t wana f them up 🤣😂👌 but I want this kinda set-up, mini fan and all ♥️ bravo 😍🍄

Pretty much my setup as well. Only thing I did differently was mount a waterproof aquarium light inside the tub about 1/4 of a way down. People say it's overkill or w/e but if it works, it works. Still trying to connect the rgb lights built into my fan just because.

This is pretty neat. I've been using shoeboxes with grocery bags over them (a couple slits cut in there for fresh air) to great success, but I've been looking into having some auto-tubs. I kind of like misting and fanning; it helps me keep track of the mycelium and spot contams/issues faster. That and I get sentimental about things I grow, so I guess it's more just my style to manually maintain them. Great video though! I'm gonna try this a bit stripped down and see if it works.

I like where you were going with it. some things I would have done a little different but idk if they are necesarily better. ive never commented on youtube videos so Idk if youll see this but Id deff like to bounce some ideas off you and see what you think for my personal design.. dont listen to the haters. If you want to have fun with making a nice set up with controls, then you do you. Some mushroom types need more or less humidity and more or less airflow. If you get practice with environmental controllers early, then you can move into small scale commercial growing with some trial and error already under your belt. These are the things no one considers when it comes to small scale environmental controls

Did you mount the fan to push air in or draw air thru the tub? Also, what are the black plugs you have in the large holes?

I dont think people get the idea of having a tub you can legit leave alone for days and have perfect conditions... like have you guys been on a mushroom growing site, forum, reddit sub? so many people fucking up cause they dont air or mist properly

Why didn't you take the core bit off the shank guide bit....them scratches around fan would drive this perfectionist crazy.....Im drop a video of the mushroom tower I'm currently building once I get all the parts here it's got 8 tubs in a closed loop and can burp co2 using bilge fans during fruiting I'm essentially building a lab grade environment for mushrooms so I can tune temp humidity light color to test blue and purple....I'm totally sealing it to avoid contams and to prolong fruiting

Definitely won't get accurate readings with the rh probes against the tub wall not to mention the ink bird probes will fail quickly if constantly water logged.

Isn't the purpose of a monotub that it self regulates?

Nobody ever talks about the logistics in how to get it working. Just put this and this together, and boom you're done. What about timing, levels, and airflow??

You are on the right track but your fans are way too large and your fan should not be blowing inward. A small tub like that only needs one tiny 25mm fan to provide a full exchange of air every 1.5 to 2.16 minutes and the fan should blow out to avoid introducing contamination. Have stuff wired up through the lid is pointless. Everything should go in through the sides so the lid can easily pop on and off as needed.

TBH automation does work but in most cases it's overkill. Martha tent, 5disc ultra sonic mister, water supply tapped into main with filter and auto fill float, 4" duct fans for ventilation, timers, humidity sensors, & a lot of money wasted to achieve the same goal. The worst part about it IF IT WORKS is the constant cleaning. That's why I stopped automation. Almost everyone who gets into this hobby will learn this and it's just part of the process.
