The magic of built-in focus motor! Monster Adapter LA-FE2
With power of embedded focus motor, LA-FE2 can drive both in-body or in-lens motor driven Nikkor lenses.
Monster Adapter already offers the possibility to use Nikon AF-S lenses with autofocus on the Sony E-mount with the LA-FE 1 adapter. However, the LA-FE 2 now allows for the use of a large number of screw-driven lenses with autofocus.
Previously, these lenses had to be manually focused on the LA-FE 1.
I tested some lenses like Nikkor AF 2.8 35-70mm, Nikkor AF 3.5-4.5 35-70mm, Nikkor AF 3.5-4.5 35-135mm N, Nikkor AF 1.8 50mm and Nikkor AF 2.8 80-200mm and two other lenses from Tokina and Sigma.
Thank you very much for your time and interest!

Thanks for your review, I think they need more time to make it work.

Tested the Monsteradapter (newest firmware V2 was installed by me) with the Sony a7R V and the Nikon 135mm F2 DC (in perfect condition) and it hunts like crazy (when DC is set to 0, so the sharpest setting). No matter what focus field I've set and it happens in both AF-S and AF-C. It doesn't even nail the focus once, not even stopped down. Rarely you can see a green focus box somewhere for a millisecond, but it's unusable and continues hunting. It's like the focus is jumping over the target because the focus motor is just too fast and rough. If I prefocus perfectly manually, not even then it will nail the focus. It starts hunting like crazy. I would therefore say, at this time the LA-FE2 with firmware V2 is incompatible to the Sony a7R V and at least the Nikon 135mm F2 DC screwdriver lens, even if the website says the opposite. This should also apply to all camera models from the a7R V generation, so all models that uses AI processors for autofocus.

Recent firmware improved things quite a bit.

Unfortunately, I was unable to determine this with the lens tested here. I was already using firmware 2.0. I also did not get satisfactory results with other tested lenses and another adapter. You can see this in the first update video. I hope for further firmware updates, but that's what the Monster adapter is known for.

Thank you very much! This is the review that I was waiting for. Too bad the 80-200 f/2.8 is not supported because is one of my favorite lens. I can imagine the Sigma 28mm f/1.8 will not work, right? I guess I have to wait until more firmare updates come.

Love to hear someone's results with a nikon DC 105mm or 135mm f2? (My favourite portrait lenses and I hate the fact I can't use them on a nikon mirrorless body) Update - I've since got this adapter and I'm happy to confirm it works with the following screw drive lenses: 60mm f2.8 Macro 105mm f2 DC 135mm f2 DC 180mm f2.8

Yes, a review of these lenses would be great! These are two first class lenses that I have not yet had the pleasure of owning.

Megadapt makes a ETZ21 pro from Sony E Mount to Nikon Z mount adapter, me and a few other people have been wondering if you can put them together and then mount on a Nikon Z mount camera and maybe it will all work!

Techart LM-EA9 Leica M to Sony E Autofocus Adapter works with any manual lens. But with most lenses you'll get only the mid frame focused well, even with Eye-AF. The Techart adapter has own motors and focuses by pushing the lens away from the body, just like the focus within the lenses work, but with more limited travel distance. If you prefocus manually, AF can do the rest.

I will soon be able to test the Commlite ENF-E1 PRO adapter with the Nikon 135mm F2 DC and the a7R V. So far I can say, that if the lens is used normally and you're not using DC too much, the universal Techart LM-EA9 manual lens AF adapter focuses perfectly in the middle frame if you prefocus (because the adapter cannot extend that far and the 135mm F2 has a too shallow DoF) in both, AF-S and AF-C photo mode only. The lens is razor sharp on the 60MP sensor so you would have been able to see any out of focus, even if it was only slightly. If Defocus Control is used too heavily, the image becomes so soft, that the Techart autofocus adapter will focus, but not hit the target accurately. This is by the way also the case for a Canon EOS R5 and the RF 100mm 2.8 Macro which also has a "DC" ring which is called SA-Control there. Not even the R5 will hit the target with the native lens, when using the SA-Control on the highest settings. So these are technical limitations. The Commlite ENF-E1 PRO was confirmed to me by users to work with newer Sonys like the a7 IV and even the ZV-E1, so it should also work with similar models with AI autofocus processor like the a7R V. Also the Eye-AF was confirmed to work with the ZV-E1. But there are limitations for this adapter. It works only slowly, only in AF-C and only in photo mode. I'm curious if it will work with my 135mm DC as I couldn't find anyone who tested this lens and not even the 105mm DC on any available adapter. Even if the AF is slow and only AF-C is available, it will still be good for portraits and everyday use. DC on max settings will require manual focusing anyway but at least I'll get the correct EXIF, eventually aperture control and up to 8 stops of IBIS then. If I forget about reporting back, just comment below this comment and I'll give feedback. The adapter should be available to me by the end of this week.

@@apertureonepointfour The Techart LM-EA9 Leica M to Sony E Autofocus Adapter works with any lens on Sony bodies with limitations (it's designed to adapt small and short manual lenses and make them able to autofocus), as long as they are sharp enough, which the 135mm F2 DC is (tested in that combination). Due to the shallow DoF of the 135mm F2 DC you need to prefocus the lens, the adapter then does the rest. Eye-AF is also working, but focus will only work in the center frame, not at the edges and corners. I will receive the Commlite ENF-E1 PRO Nikon to Sony E adapter this week. Remind me about it and I can tell you about the results with the 135mm F2 DC then. So far it was confirmed to me to work with newer Sony bodies like the a7 IV and the ZV-E1 which is almost identical to the a7R V. But it would only work slowly, only in photo mode and only with continuous AF-C, not AF-S on modern Sony bodies. Older bodies that are officially supported should work better.

The commentary sounds suspiciously artificial - I stopped watching part way through the introduction.
