That was a huge flathead for that situation for sure! Yeah sometimes I don't use a leader for catfish, depends on my setup. I use a Carolina rig a lot, so of course I use a leader then. Great video Ty.

At times i've sensed stress from you trying to make the next BANGER video, and this was great talking directly to us as well as trying out new setups 💭 I was thinking to myself, and watching, how you basically just sling a fish and let it swim freely instead of weighing it down in a certain spot with perhaps a Carolina rig like i use. 5:11 was my favorite part! first off great fish, second I’ve been using your crappie lures from 6th sense and have been smashing bass, huge crappie and massive blue gill, caught 35 in one day, two days ago they are awesome and work so well, I also caught my pb blue gill with them, it was a pound and a half, also my pb crappie one after another. I’ve already ran through 5-6 packs of them they are so good

Flatheads are addicting man. Lost a 30-35ish below the dam at harlan last year and it hurts to this day. Adrenaline was rushing when my 10” bullhead got slammed

I fish a dam in Kansas (holy grail) and the potential fir flatheads over 60 or even 70 is always on the table. We run 80-100# braid or 50# mono main line, I prefer braid, and 100# mono leaders

Ty that was a terrific flathead. I was thinking about a leader during that fight since braid doesn't hold up to abrasion very well. How about putting a three or five foot 100# fluorocarbon leader on it. I don't fish for kitty cats but your videos of them have got me real interested.

Dude is definitely in my top 200 favorite fisherman on RU-vid. Gives the channel a different feel if you just list to the audio while driving.

I've caught huge catfish on rooster tails and fish lures. Contrary to popular belief, they also lay to pounce on a snack.

Ty go with your kayak next time and anchor around one of those pilings with a quick release so if the fish gets around another one or in something you can go after him. Don’t put the bait directly on the bottom either suspend a couple feet off the bottom. That way he is most likely out of the snag when he grabs your bait. It will be ten times more exiting. Promise you will thank me later 💪🏼

Hey Ty. Nice flathead! I told you about slicing up a couple of fingers but the hand is great. Got sick immediately after also tore the muscles on my right side. My athletic dog tried to leap between myself and a recliner. Like a 75lb missile. She landed in my arms so she leaped 10’ and her forward motion landed in the crook of my arm and tore muscle from my lower back up to my shoulder. I have an Apple sized lump of muscle on my side. So surgery again dude! I haven’t dipped a line yet. Got medical bills galore so my purchase of the mega jaws reel and the pro series rod hopefully will happen next year I hope! Dave
