I've been a lifelong Monster High fan, and I think it's an understatement to say that I'm disappointed with the way these movies are setting up the new generation.

Whoever thought that the first film deserved a sequel needs to seek professional help.

I can't wait for the third movie where the characters say such phrases like "gyatt," "rizz" and "sigma."

“HuMon pride” I give it a few years before someone finds this problematic.

Two movies in and I still don't get half-monster racism. Like, ain't a fuckton of those monsters either dead or transformed humans anyway? Out of all the racism allegories in fiction this is the most nonsensical one

Any video with fushiabutters and dumbsville automatically becomes a hood classic.

I can't get over Frankie just announcing their pronouns every single time. They couldn't find a more natural or fun way to add that? It's always awkward and halts the flow of the scene completely. Heck, I'd accept Frankie having a they/them pin on their shirt just to skip that awkwardness. Or a joke where Frankie says they are a they/them because they are literally multiple people when someone looks at them weirdly. At this point I would even be happy if they skipped it entirely and just assume it was established to the new characters off screen.

i think the scariest thing about this whole video are the actual half-second pauses between movie audio and dumbs’/butters’ voiceovers after ive gotten used to immediate audial overload in each video

So let me get this straight, it’s NEVER explained why witches just casually broke into the school? Not once? That was just a random plot device?

I think what make this movie arguably worse that the first movie is that it lacks a narrative focus. In the first movie, Clawdeen was set up to be the main focus the story and that narrative remained consistent through the whole movie (Draculura and Frankie didn't really contributed much, but was functional in the roles they were given). In the sequel, Draculura is set up to be the main focus, but then to have Clawdeen hijack her storyline for 70% of the time. Frankie on the other hand, gets the shaft for most of the movie and gets about 2 scenes of development about how their powers are controlled through the power of friendship (I am not joking that actually statement said through dialougue at scene shown at 18:23) Edit: I have a positive with the sequel, visuals in general are far better Edit 2: I just realized that Deuce also gets the shaft for most of the movie (again) and only gets development at both the beginning and end of the movie

the creepy related puns are canon in the series. the difference is like, when draculora says “lets go ghouls!!” or some thing stupid jts actually cute and in character despite being campy because there is some enthusiasm behind it instead of the actors just blandly forcing out the puns like they dont want to be there

Was there really enough fans of the first movie that it warrant a sequel. The animated movie and shows are more entertaining than this movie and that was cater to a much younger audience. This feels like Disney channel live action tv show and not the good ones.

This movie might be bargain bin material, but I do think the ghost girl is a pretty cute character. She has an earnest, positive vibe to her I haven't felt from a fictional character in a long time.

Dumbsy and Butters went from torturing themselves with the FRED Trilogy, to watching the live action Monster High movies. Both of them are why I'd prefer the animated MH films(either made-for-television or direct-to-video) from Gen 1 over them entirely.

This doesn't feel like the usual review, it feels like dumbs and butters are just telling the movie's plot to another person in discord (what i'm trying to say is that it feels too casual) Epic. Honestly Linkara showing up in character would probably bump this movie up to at least a 3/10. Actually the movie would be 6/10 if the plot was about The Nostalgia Critic and Linkara competing to be the school prefect.
