@@Nyx_Eos I'm mixed on that: sure I like being made happy... But making the hunt go faster? You mean I get less time to enjoy the banger that is X monster's theme, and I get less time fighting a cool moveset and design and more time in menues? Not quite my thing. Now if you have defensive buffs or if I get to make cool colors go swoosh or pow or wabam, go ham on them, and don't restrict your moves just to avoid offensive buffs, but faster isn't necessaryly better.
Hammer one is completely accurate, the feeling of euphoria I get from giving the monster a concussion never lessens (partially because the stun threshold increases each time you pull one off).
In Rise nothing beats the feeling of using waterstrike on the monsters opening roar and then stunning it right at the start of the fight with the counter swing to the noggin.
I feel like an achievement every time I stun a 4x scaled monster, being the only one in the party dealing blunt dmg, and against a monster that is particularly resistant against that status effect. Such as Velkhana or Alatreon
Few things gives me a bigger urge to scream than doing an Ultra Discharge or Axe Hopper and not seeing a *single* damage number pop up. Missing True Charged Slash is only marginally less painful.
I just wanted to say thank you for giving lance a wholesome part for once because it’s always about how lance mains either don’t exist or are hated by capcom :’)
i think lances just need a built in Diversion skill, one that gets the beast's attention half of the time, and then maybe a counter that's very easy to pull off, maybe that counter deals extra stun and exhaust damage.
As a DB main, it's absolutely EUPHORIC when you slash all across the monsters back and see at least 20-30 instances of 50 to 80 damage. G l o r i o u s.
Haha insta-block go brrr But seriously tho, as a lance main, nothing feels better than downright no-damaging a Furious Rajang via insta-blocking all of its attacks
Or standing next to another lance user, and both power guarding the same move at the same time like the resolute wall of defense. We fought for this position, like hell we're going to lose it just cuz the monster wants to KO us.@@jimfeng6024
Excellent stuff. I’m surprised you didn’t make Gunlance users race among themselves too. Have the lances be cars racing, while Gunlances are jet fighters Lmao.
Would be more accurate than the actual gun lance thing. Like in Rise we can spam it. Artillery (which every sane GL user has) cuts time by half. The one wirebug combo removes another 30% leaving us with a 15s down time. Or just do the wirebug move again.
I put my first ~60 hours into MHW, as my first MH game, into the HH before switching to Lance, trying Glaive, and now dabbling in GS. The HH is one of the best feeling weapons to just smack a mob. Every hit that lands feels amazing, and then if you manage to get a song off mid rotation that stuns the monster / heals up or otherwise buffs the party (been working on Attack up, but the Defender weapons are too good for our HR) is just straight dopamine. Plus... free minds eye. Button to swing left, button to swing right, buttons to smack em head on.... just feels good.
@@Datamaskarl you are so right. It is so, so good. And it’s nice to practically have a list of combos you can do instead of having to figure out the best ones yourself. And I also love feeling useful!
As a Hammer/Swaxe main, I approve. However, I have one; Swaxe mains when they go for the elemental discharge and the monster moves 3 cm: Either an infuriation one or a hit missing
Man I love the lance part! I just had a race against another lance main who randomly joined to my hunt a couple of hours ago in MHW lol that only happen every few years. Long lives to my fellow lancers ❤️🗿
i don't want lagiacrus back if underwater combat doesn't show up again third gen leviathans are beyond butchered without water as lagiacrus himself clearly demonstrated in gu and poor royal ludroth keep reminding everytime he shows up
As a insect glaive main, touching the ground accurate but i always hop back in the air and give my enemies blunt force trauma to head with my precious kinsect.
Insect glaive here, we do touch the ground when we need to get some kinsect extracts from time to time. The rest of the time though yeah we're challenging things like Valstrax in their own domain
If you make another one you should make a Switch Axe one about them sticking to the monster with the elemental discharge or how they crave the explosions being fully amp gives them.
@@kingdanett4043 yeah but, and I really actually checked, there's not a preexisting, similar word for someone-who-likes-explosions like pyromania however, you piqued my curiosity and after a little googling and looking on wiktionary the word would probably/potentially be skázomania/skázomaniac from the ancient greek σκάζω (skázo) meaning burst or explode
Switchaxe is the forbidden love-child of Longsword and Charge Blade with a hint of Gunlance thrown in. People either think they look badass, like Longsword mains, or they think their mastery of the weapon's mechanics will impress others like Charge Blade mains.
Switch Axe main here. We got both gigantic damage numbers as well as support via Zero-Sum Discharge. Plus, no need to worry about our defenses because the Elemental Burst Counter can parry everything. *Everything.*
as a Hunting Horn main since i started playing in gen 3, thanks for accepting my heals and buffs. please continue to cut tail and i will continue to keep you at max health. deal? (hammer bros, i will see you at the front of the monster for our regularly scheduled head trauma)
@@tadferd4340 What do you mean "spread sheets"? If it's something from World, I don't play World. If it's some form of slang in the community, I'm not really active in the community of Monster Hunter. It sounds vaguely familiar, but that's about it.
The hunting horn honestly kicks ass in Rise. I don't use it as often as the weapons I main, but when I do it's so damn satisfying getting all of those buffs and then beating the monster's face in with it. Plus the insane combo you can do with that dance you do is just perfection. The weapons I do main are the hammer, kinsect glaive, switch axe, and longsword.
As a Gunlance main, with how much we're spamming silkbind attacks, I'm surprised that somebody is still waiting for Wyvernfire to recharge. Either it gets recharge instantly with HC spam, or it never gets recharged at all because of BB spam lmao.
Insect glaive one is so real. I played MHW when I was really young because of my dad, and I would play on his account. I didn't know that much about dmg and stuff back then, only how fast I killed a monster. I always did air attacks because I found them cool and thought the mounting monster feature was useful- I only recently learned that the ground attacks are better. Well, my dad told me back then but I was having too much fun playing around ☠️ I still killed stuff in a decent speed so he just stopped telling me about it. We both don't play the game anymore, but I still love interacting with the community
I'm new, started in January and main Switch Axe while trying out Insect Glaive every now and again. Is it good or bad that you can't think of anything to say about us? I'm so used to accidentally maining a controversial character or weapon that it feels weird not getting clowned on online for it
That's just the privilege one gains when welding the weapon of a true Decepticon warrior ya sees. How could they downplay a weapon that can scrap Autoscum and monster alike without fear of joining the ranks of the two in the depths of the junkyard? The answer is simple: they, much like those trying to claim Minoto isn't best girl, simply cannot.
As a bow main in portable to a full on hammer main in tri onwards I can confirm that when you get that stun for a team. On a monster it feels so good cause now your entire team cause free whaling time to send the thing packing home. And I get light bowgun mains pain cause missing a shot sometimes feels like a death sentence.
