As an insect glaive main, I believe insect glaive is for people who aren't patient enough to wait for openings, but have noticed the monster's back is usually open.

As a great sword user this is extremely accurate. I only land like 30% of my hits every fight and somehow always manage to kill the monster

Guys the Charge Blade isn't that complicated, all you gotta do is- *11 months later* -And that's how you charge your shield

As an insect glaive main, I legitimately said once when I thought no one was listening, "I invented Jumping" And I still have not lived it down.

As a sword and shield main I have a superiority complex and an inferiority complex at the same time

As a Switch axe main It was "I'm too scared to try Greatsword, and you wouldn't catch me dead using a longsword", but I love the bow too and that one felt all too real

I just started monster hunter world I did start with the charged blade I do like reading PDFs because I feel like they are good organized ways of providing information and or explaining the process steps of a job/task in an efficient manner. 🙂

Addition to the hammer from a hammer-main: We know every monsters "spin around and use the tail as a whip" move and the exact timing of it! (If you want to use a hammer you either learn that or like being stepped on) Edit: my English wasn't englishing correctly.

Gunlance main here, I love how the explosions go through armor thus allowing for even more unga bunga then hammer + it's got some stylish high damage nonsense (wyvern stake + silk bindings in rise) that are just fun and cool.

I love the fact that in monster hunter there really isn't any meta. Just use what you like to use and if you and you're build are good then it doesn't make a difference what weapon it is.

Hunting Horn: the support character that almost nobody wants to be, but everyone wants one in the party. When a hunting Horn main joins the party, then it's a real party.

As a GS main, I just gotta say, I am so glad that we are being recognized as a weapon that takes a lot of ski- and I missed again.

The IG made me feel like I was just as powerful as the monsters I was fighting in Sunbreak. The ability to dodge and re-position with evade extender on an IG build is actually broken.

Charge blade for beginners: hit stuff until your sword gets hot, then hit it *harder.*

I was all over the place, starting with Switch Ax, then Heavy BG, then Insect, then Longsword, then Charge Blade, but now I have settled on a weapon: The Bonk Master Supreme Hammer with a side of Spin. Being able to break parts and stun with just a couple of good solid hits is so satisfying

Been playing since the beginning of the series and honestly, i felt that when you said sword and shield because that’s pretty much all I use anymore. It’s just so versatile.

My thought process was always: “why use regular lance when you can use lance and gun together?”

As a Dual Blades main, can confirm that my main reason for using Dual Blades is because in my heart, I've always just wanted to be a Beyblade.

As a huntinghorn main, I just really like hearing my weapon play along with the sounds of the monster being hit. That and the buffs.

As a HH main since MH4U we have come so far from corner horning... Now we can beat the shit out of monsters with a glorified bagpipe uninterrupted

As an insect glaive main I can confirm we do indeed play the floor is lava every hunt.

my first two weapon choices were dual blades and gunlance. I don't land wyrmstake cannon often, but it's great fun when I do. and I just love the speed and aggression of dual blades.

When people see tutorials on Charge Blade and think "This weapon is really complicated" it makes me feel 5% smarter.

I'm a long sword user and this is 100% accurate 😂 Also the lance made me laugh my ass off, I might try it out, it actually looks pretty great.

Since Mh1 I used Hammer, then Tri still Hammer having tried every weapon available in that generation, then in 3U I met the gunlance, we didn't match instantly, but we developed a beautiful relationship which has been going through 4 and now mhW. Now the hammer is back in my life too and the 3 of us are happy

As a Charge Blade main, I love how hyperbolic people are over its combos.

I'm a newbbie Monster Hunter, I fell in love with Dual Blades. I mean, how can you not fall in love with gigantic monsters and amazing jungles all the while you spin wildly, missing half your special combo because the monster moved 3 inches and you puke because you spun too, hang on, have to sharpen my knives, much! I EFFIN' LOVE DUAL BLADES! *pukes*

I mained GL and HH in MH4U, boy howdy were those two different back then. Granted I nabbed a +14 artillery talisman with 3 slots so I kinda HAD to learn GL, but it was still my favorite before that. Old HH was amazing though, every move felt so deliberate, each fight was a dance.

Either there are actually a lot of gun lance mains or every single one of them got this on their recommended

MH:World had the bust hunting horn method, have a simple layout of the songs the horn can play, and then have them on display so you dont have to keep pausing Plus the "Encore" note to double up the effects or enhance them, really made it my favourite weapon to use in World

Ha, I'm a long time player (played since 3 Ultimate) who started playing with SnS I approve of this description. I also laughed at Je Suis Monte reference 😅. I remember this from my 4 Ultimate days (probably my favorite game), when every French player was an Insect Glaive user for some reason and constantly used jump attack.

i knew when i started that i wanted to main dual blades but over the years i've branched out to great swords, hammers, switch ax, and even the gunlance. tried charge blade and got pretty good before dropping it once i realized it just wasn't that fun. edit: somehow i forgot about the longsword when it's all i ever use now out of convenience.

Honestly, I just love the fast pace combo attacks of the Dual Blades. If you build up enough speed, half the time the screen starts freezing cause the frames can't keep up lol

I haven't even played a Monster Hunter game but the floor is starting to look a lot like lava! Oui Oui

Back when the Charge Blade was introduced in MH4 I had to fuckin idea what I was doing. It felt like it was slow and needlessly complicated. But after a few dozen hunts with the thing I suddenly realized it was slow but powerful and needlessly complicated but effective and rewarding. It's been my main weapon going through the series.

I feel somewhat validated with the greatsword being my main, even back when I played that one monster hunter game on the WiiU and I was a casual gamer who could barely move the camera. I think I might go and play Rise, just to see if the years of getting better at games lend themselves to my favorite weapon

... and thats why you always have a shield on your heavy bowgun and save the wyvern fire for when the monster is on the ground or use it to explode the monster with some barrels

currently downloading monster hunter since it was on sale for ps4 and first the character creator and now this video makes me real excited about this game

For real though figuring out the charge blade and getting one of your fully charged combos to hit a monster and completely annihilating it is the most satisfying feeling I've ever gotten from a video game it's almost like a drug.

As a Switch Axe main, it literally switches from being an axe to a sword. It just makes sense to have the best of both worlds!

I love how the community has no mean jokes about Insect Glaive. We're all like "we see how much work you put in. Shine on you flying buggy diamond."

As someone who uses Charge Blade I can gladly say I mash buttons and then try to use the cool big damage move that puts the sparky boom boom effect on the monster.

as someone who uses the charge blade and has never read any guides about it i just think it looks neat its like a giant sword and shield that switches into an even more giant sword (sometimes an axe depending on the weapon) and seeing big giant weapons and hitting giant creatures with said weapon makes my monkey brain happy

Being a lancer from the MHF1, using lance in a nutshell is like this: Get in (quest) Poke poke poke (monsters) Get out (quest completed) Get paid and... repeat...

I started with Longsword in World, because it was my first MH and I loved the giant greatsword but I was too n00b to survive and hit with it, so I took "greatsword light" and actually got really good with it as the game progressed. when I was ready to try something new, instead of going back to Greatsword, I went on a hunt with Switchax and immediately fell in love. NO, i did not watch some esport whatever, the first time I stabbed it into a monster and unloaded a bunch of elemental hits i was sold. Plus, when I was playing it in World, the community view on it was "RRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE" as most people apparently couldn;t get past the back and forth swinging attacks to give it a fair shake. My favorite switchax is EXPLOSIVE ELEMENT for stabbing explosions.

I've used every weapon, but the only ones ive never been good with are greatsword and hammer. I do like every weapon, but hunting horn will always be my favorite because it was my first weapon in ye olden times.

This just wormed its way into my recommended. The charge blade one got me rolling.

As a hunting horn main, I actually just like styling on monsters by playing music while beating them on the head. Also, it really is oddly one of the fastest weapons in the games though.

As a Switch Axe main: I enjoy just side stepping and then obliterating the monster with a Elemental Discharge. Works every time

I started the game maining the insect glaive because I liked the movement and the lil bug guy, needed too much assistance dealing damage in iceborne so learned the longsword, decided to branch out and now I'm on the Switch Axe. I wanna learn all of the weapons, but the bow is a nightmare for me lmao

I'm really new to the series, my first game is rise, wich I'm still playing and after seeing that most weapons were simple to use, discovering charge blade was cool, the hardest part was just the timing of the special and counter.

As a gunlance main, I like to gently caress my shotgun/stabby implement/howitzer gently before I use it's built-in dynamite-on-a-pointy-stick-injector on monsters. It is a good feeling.
