I kinda like how valstrax came after allmother narwa. In the interview the devs said they couldn't make a yokai motif for him and decided to just identify him as a comet/omen of disaster. Quite fitting considering defeating the allmother can be seen as an end to the rampage and valstrax appearing all over the maps after that is kinda like an omen to the terrible monsters we're gonna face in sunbreak.

The MH Rise book reveals that it usually feeds during the Rampage like Magnamalo does, but since it appeared after the Allmother's defeat, this time it's taking advantage of the gathered monsters post-Rampage. It's definitely a bad omen when monsters begin arriving post Rampage, especially ones that aren't considered native in regions that are close Kamura!

Allmother Narwa's Japanese title refers to her as the Origin of a Hundred Dragons, referencing the Rampage itself, itself known as the Night of a Hundred Dragons. This lines up to the Serpents causing the Rampage, as well as coinciding with the twins stating they seek to flood the land with children, implying Narwa produces a huge brood that swarms from the nest, though only a few of her young would reach adulthood.
@ChronoPinoyX
@ChronoPinoyX 2 года назад
Estimates based on the Allmother's appearance would suggest between 8 to 10 eggs per mating season. That's definitely a high volume of Serpent Dragons spawning in one go if their lifecycle goes uninterrupted!

More comparison between narwa and ibushi I noticed, narwa seems to have more side facing eyes, generally associated with prey animals, while ibushi's eyes look more forward facing. Going along this, narwa has alot more defensive feeling attacks, lasers and ring pushing you away, when compared to ibushi who has alot more aggressive beams and slams.
@spacemegalodon5049
@spacemegalodon5049 2 года назад
That makes sense. I guess that's why Ibushi was guarding the nest on the outside which Narwa was hiding.
@ChronoPinoyX
@ChronoPinoyX 2 года назад
From what I can gather, Narwa fighting in any capacity was a last resort action for the monster. It's the reason why Ibushi actively participates in the Rampage but Narwa hides during the Rampage and uses other methods to drive away any attackers (like the earthquake in Lava Caverns and how it caused other monster to go violent)

I have always seen the representation of Narwa, or in general of the question of celestial snakes and rampege within the game is not complete, however the fact that Narwa does reproductive canibalism can trigger an interesting speculation of rampege, that is as well as in mantises religious males bring prey to the female to avoid canibalism the Ibushi could do the same with the rampege where a small group of musts are brought to the Narwa lair as food offerings. another thing I noticed is that the nests of Narwa are in fact a volcanic zone or anywhere hot (the infernal springs would seem to be thermal springs)
@ChronoPinoyX
@ChronoPinoyX 2 года назад
I think the location is most just anywhere that isn't their home (basically anywhere besides Shrine Ruins). Though the fact that they prefer to be underground, closer to a heat source could definitely indicate preference for hotter regions!

The Serpents are clearly heavily based off of seahorses, they have very similar physical attributes. My personal theory is Narwa and Ibushi, mate for life, just like the seahorses that they were based on. If she was always planning on eating Ibushi, she would have done it in the intro cutscene. The Allmother state might actually be to prevent mortality of their young. Ment to be used against Nakarkos, Magnamalo, and the Ancient Serpent. Primarily those monsters, because they all can displace a Narwa from her clutch and kill Ibushi. And the Ancient Serpent/Nakarkos both live near Narwa's preferred nests ( Secluded sea side caves for easy access to squid and fish ). Magnamalo actually attacks the Allmother, and it takes up to three attacks for Allmother to displace him.

I'm so glad someone said it ! Yes I saw the resemblance to Sealife too , seahorses as you said and also pipefish especially with ibushi and his scales /spines . and combjellies ( bioluminescent jellyfish) on Narwa.
@ChronoPinoyX
@ChronoPinoyX 2 года назад
Cannibalising Ibushi to become the Allmother is said to be part of their mating according to the text on the MH Rise book (Page 143 - モンスターハンターライズ 公式設定資料集 百竜災禍秘録) as Ibushi's lifeforce serves as sustenance for the eggs as well, otherwise they wouldn't hatch. As you said though, the Allmother state is a necessary state to drive away invading threats like our hunter and the Elder Dragons/Elder-Level monsters since the immense bioenergy (they just say its energy) attracts the monsters to Narwa. They even state that Narwas have vestigial Windsacs for this very purpose!

For the skeleton in the beach cave of the lava cavern when we see Narwa's skeleton. Is it possible she also encounters an unknown monster or an elder dragon while she's inside the cave and that rumble is the result of Narwa being fighting the unknown monster? It's still a mystery and quite puzzling what is the giant ribcage like skeleton beside Narwa.
@ChronoPinoyX
@ChronoPinoyX 2 года назад
One theory is that it may be the Ibushi's skeleton that was consumed by the Narwa at the time. At the same time though, there's highly likely a chance that other monsters attacked like what happens with Magnamalo and the other two Elder Dragons. Narwa's energy spikes tremendously during pregnancy so it becomes a high level target by other high level monsters, so it's definitely possible it fought off against other monsters!

I honestly love the detail that Narwa's sparksacs on different parts of her body (except the abdomen) upon becoming the Allmother suddenly elongated in just a matter of seconds. Making it as the fastest biological mutation process in the world of Monster Hunter as of now. The most noticable one is, the sparksacs on her arms are actually mimicking the shape of Ibushi's glowing tendrils that covers the windsac on his arms. Anyway, regardless of her being pregnant or not, Narwa will always have the bloated sparksac on her abdomen. As the yellow sparksac when we look by the ingame perspective is the main energy generator for Narwa. Everytime the hunters are able to 'deactivate' the accumulated energy contained in Narwa's glowing purple sparksacs which make her to fall to the ground as we temporarily shut off her ability to float thanks to her magnetism gimmick, we always see that her abdomen sparksac will glow with electricity as if its actually producing more electricity, and 'recharging' or 'reactivate' the deactivated purple sparksacs on different parts of her body thus making Narwa to be able to float again with her magnetism gimmick. It's just kinda odd to think of Narwa may have a flat stomach like her mate Ibushi when she's not pregnant. As the MH Rise art & ecology book does not mention anything about if the yellow sparksac on Narwa's abdomen could inflate or deflate like a baloon depending if she's carriying any eggs inside of it or not.

I have a theory. Narwa (and ibushi) has a very similar appearance to ancient fish on earth and given its title as "The allmother" and its eggs being called orbs of origin I think Narwa is, while not explicitly stated in the game, an origin species. I think many of the monsters in monster hunter evolved from it.

Definitely an interesting theory though we'll have to wait for Capcom to confirm any relation between other monsters and the "Deity Dragons" first before we can look into these Elder Dragons being progenitors of other monsters. Once we get a better understanding of how and new monsters related to Ibushi and Narwa in future games, that we can get a better understanding on the usage of the term "Origins"!

So, we now have info on how 2 elder dragons reproduce, 1.netgigante, nergi reproduces asexually, it creates clones of itself by implanting zygotes inside it’s spikes, which we know will fall off, and once they fall, they grow into a genetic clone (excluding mutations) of the parent 2. The wind serpents, they reproduce sexually, meaning that the offspring will have genetic traits of both the parents, but we also know that narwas will cannibalise ibushis in order to get nutrients for the offspring to grow.

*MH Lore: Thunder Serpent Narwa* "Name: Thunder Serpent Narwa (ナルハタタヒメ) Title: Thunder God Dragon (雷神龍)/Lady of Lightning/Serpent Goddess of Thunder Length: 3875.05cm Height: 1905.02cm Order: Elder Dragon Suborder: Deity Dragon Family: Unknown Habitats: Unknown" "Split the heavens with bolts of ruin and rend the land." "Bathe the land in lightning, and bring about the end." "Usher in the end of all life, rebirth it through furious thunder." "Destroy all, that life may spring anew from its ashes." "Annihilate this world that it may begin anew." "After Wind Serpent Ibushi is repelled in the Red Stronghold, it seemed that the Rampage was finally over, but one unanswered question remained... "Who was his queen?"" "Not long after Wind Serpent Ibushi is repelled, a particularly large Rakna-Kadaki suddenly appears in the Lava Caverns, and Minoto begins to act strange. It is soon discovered that another Rampage seemed to be coming, not from Wind Serpent Ibushi but rather his mate. Like her sister, Minoto had resonated with an elder dragon, and this elder dragon is known as Thunder Serpent Narwa, the Thunder God Dragon." "Identified by her two magnificent horns and yellow shell, Thunder Serpent Narwa is the female counterpart of Wind Serpent Ibushi. While he controls the wind and air, she controls thunder and lightning. This female elder dragon's exact habitat range is unknown, but she has long been a part of the region's history." "Before humans populated the Shrine Ruins, there were numerous monster species (Arzuros, Izuchi, Aknosom, Bishaten, Zinogre, Mizutsune, Almudron) living in that unspoiled land. One of the other inhabitants, who was unseen, was Thunder Serpent Narwa (Likely not the story one). This particular Thunder Serpent Narwa had long been dormant in the area for some time. When she eventually woke up, her thunderous presence scared away all the monsters that lived within the Shrine Ruins, making it possible for humans to inhabit the land. Decades later, Wind Serpent Ibushi's gales brought those monsters back to the Shine Ruins, ravaging the land that the humans had cultivated for years." "Thunder Serpent Narwa's overall body frame, shape, and characteristics are the same as Wind Serpent Ibushi's, but there are some differences between the two." Much like Ibushi, Narwa has thick, highly elastic skin covering much of her body, but, unlike Ibushi, her skin is well insulated, and this is due to the large amounts of electricity that flows throughout her body. While Ibushi uses the special gas produced in his "windsacs" for flight, Narwa uses the electric currents produced in her "thundersacs" for flight." "Narwa has seven thundersacs on her body that she uses to generate and store electricity (One on her head, one on both forelimbs, one on her tail, one on her abdomen, one on her back, and one on her chest). The electricity generated and stored within her thundersacs also produces a powerful magnetic field that allows Narwa to float or fly in the air without wings. Those organs will glow intensely when they store large amounts of electrical energy." "Covering much of her body are dozens of tentacles that generate static electricity. When the tentacles rub together, they produce a powerful electrical charge that clads Narwa in golden lightning, allowing her to unleash that electricity from her body in a variety of ways." "Narwa constantly generates a large amount of electricity in and on her body, affecting the environment around her (Basically, she "repels" herself off the ground, much like two magnets repelling each other)." "Her body generates so much electricity that even touching her can be fatal (Any creature that touches her will be severely burnt by the electricity coursing through her veins)." "When Narwa is around, objects will randomly float around the area, and a thunderous storm will cover the sky in golden lightning. Compared to Ibushi, Narwa was more eager to mate, and she was greatly angered when she heard her mate's sorrowful cries. Although Narwa stays in one place during the mating season, her presence can be felt from afar, not only by Ibushi but by other creatures." "When Ibushi was repelled, she made her presence known and shook multiple ecosystems with her thunderous roar, leading to the continuation of the Rampage. When her location was discovered, the Guild sent hunters to handle her, but that hunting party was decimated by her. Rather than sending another group of hunters to slay her, the Guild sent the "Fierce" to permanently take care of her." "Narwa chose the Coral Palace, a forgotten fortress that seems to have come out of the sea, as her nesting spot, and the Fierce went there alone on a small boat to face her. The Coral Palace is on an isolated island surrounded by a wind-swept sea." "Narwa has outstanding abilities that some consider greater than Ibushi's. As mentioned above, she can release powerful electrical shocks from her entire body, and she does so in a variety of ways. She can release streams of electricity from her thundersacs, and she uses the dozens of tentacles on her body like "limbs" to manipulate large amounts of electricity at will. She can also expel powerful electrical blasts from her mouth." "When she becomes enraged, her body will produce more electricity, further enhancing the strength of her attacks. The more enraged Narwa becomes, the more electricity her body will produce, meaning her attacks will become more powerful and unpredictable." "Hunters can use those magnetized objects to their advantage while hunting Narwa. Damaging her thundersacs will dispel some of the electricity she has built in her body, weakening her abilities. She'll fall to the ground if most of her thundersacs are damaged. The thundersac on her abdomen is especially sensitive, and electricity will violently explode in her body if that particular thundersac is heavily damaged in combat." " When pushed to her limit, Narwa truly shows her destructive capabilities. Narwa will pierce the heavens and earth with her divine lightning, bringing death and destruction to the land. Reference: mythopedia.com/topics/raijin " "Although Narwa has destructive abilities, she may also be a bringer of life. Deep in the underground caves of the Lava Caverns, the skeleton of a Narwa can be found. This individual chose that locale as her nest spotting, but she died before an Ibushi could discover her location. This Narwa likely died due to old age or some other factor. Many volcanoes surround the Lava Caverns, but not many creatures (Monsters and endemic life) can be found inhabiting them. However, many creatures can be found inhabiting the Lava Caverns, and this is due to the immense energy left behind by that Narwa. Her energy created a biodiverse ecosystem, an ecosystem that the Guild is keeping tabs on." "The hide protects her from thunder attacks and makes lightning strikes feel like bug bites. Flesh-singeing electricity courses through her carapace. Her claws can slice would-be attackers and alter the surrounding terrain." *"Narwa's horns can shoot out bolts of lightning when swung (This isn't really shown in-game, but the horns do shoot out lightning).* The "Thunder Serpent Orb" is a rare jewel that forms inside of Narwa's thundersac. This jewel shimmers with the ire of lightning, and it is said that its holders can tame thunder. It is also that it'll unleash a blinding lightning strike when exposed to the outside air. The Thunder Serpent Orb is thought to be the true source of Narwa's power." "When chaos rocks the world, it appears to help guide mankind." "Soar among the lightning to crush all calamity." "Shake the spent world with dominion over the halo of souls." "The raging and roaring thunderbolts of the Allmother are revered and worshipped." "Even if the world falls to ruin, this strength shall shape the next." " Sources: 1. Also, the electromagnetism pulls them up, it’s always going to look random because it’s always going to happen, in all hunts. Just like how Lagiacrus will always be blue, and use electricity, everytime you fight it. And Narwa has much variety between its attacks, the dragonators are small parts of the fight anyways.

It's weird because they pop out of solid rock like it was nothing, and you can't even see them before, they look slapped into the move rather than being part of it. Of course it's because of magnetism, it's evident, it's how is presentated the problem, also because it doesn't use them in any other attack, it's like it has dragonators because they're convenient for showing and thelegraphing the hitbox of the attack.

@@yurei4414 Bosses using lasers as attacks, Xeno Jjiva, The Allmother and Shara Ishvalda have all done so. What do you mean “being trash”? Alatreon is not a trash monster, and is one of the fairest monsters, you could ever possibly fight (at least Iceborne’s is). You’re argument is like Ahtal Ka’s mech, you don’t see it immediately but it pops out of “nothingness”, but Ahtal ka’s mech doesn’t look “slapped” into the fight? It has dragonators for an ultimate, it’s like saying “Alatreon doesn’t use eschaton judgement against us as a regular move, but when it does it’s like it’s trying to show off”.
@yurei4414
@yurei4414 2 года назад
@@gojigiante Yeah, Alatreon is amazing... In gen 5. I'm talking about gen 3 Alatreon, the one that had around 7 moves, incredibly unfair fire tornado that was untlegraphed and had a massive AOE. The Alatreon that heavely punishes light weapons because of its shit-zones making the fight drag to 45 minutes because it's objectly not worth attacking any part except the head, wich is out of range except for few seconds after turning or some attacks. Gen 3 Alatreon sucks ass. Athal-Ka's mech doesn't come out nowhere, you can see parts of it coming out the sand, like the wheel (and you can even use them as platforms for aereal damage) and when the mech emerges said parts become part of it, it feels orgainc, while in Allmother Narwa's case there's nothing that hints dragonators coming out the ground. There's not a single mechanism in the cave. I'll use *base* Narwa as an example since it does pretty much the same. Why the artillery in normal Narwa don't have that problem, they pop out of nowhere like the dragonators, it's because of the map: you're fighting her in a castle, everything around is armed and fortified, so it fits with the coral palace Aestetic for cannons to be there, while in the cave all the man-made structures are gone, that's why it looks out of place, also because Allmother almost completally removes the artillery that normal Narwa uses. Also finally Alatreon EJ doesn't look out of place because it's a huge elemental attack and the rest of its moveset is huge elemental attacks, Allmother instead never uses artillery as her own disposal, an attack like Ibushi's cannonball rocks flinging would have been enough, the way she is the dragonator is the only attack that uses artillery. Also I wouldn't really call Shara's and Narwa's attacks "lasers" Shara uses soundwaves, while Narwa uses Aestetic and basass Electric rings of deaths (wich look awesome btw), though you've got a point there, since there are Gogmazios and Dalamadur as replacement for them (and said that, not wonder I hate Xeno so much and find it unintresting and dull).
