Final gate was nearly destroyed, my ally was carted. The Apex Mizutsune had me down to my last bit of health. I used a wire bug narrowly escaping death, I made it to the Splitting Wyvern shot. The Apex was at my post when I got off the shot and won the rampage. The music and timing of it could never have been better.
I recently participated in my first squad rampage everyone was busy holding the line in the front half after the gates fell, but a tetranadon managed to slip by and was about to break down the last gate. I was the only one back there, as I couldn't deal with the massive horde that was fighting the others back where the first gate once stood. right when I was starting to panic, 2:45 kicked in and I remembered I was using the paralysis kinsect. I fired off several kinsect shots until the tetranadon was surrounded in paralysis powder in a final gamble to save the gate, and then went in for a vault combo to try and kill it before it was too late. the blade struck the powder, and the tetranadon was rendered immobile. after that, killing it was a trivial matter, and shortly after, the rest of the squad finished off the rest of the horde up front, and the match ended. and thats when I knew monster hunter rise is an amazing masterpiece- that kind of stunt would have never worked in any other game

@@verynaisu I disagree. people thinking like that is the only reason why you can't be still on a balista without eating a bullet in the face and having to wait 5 seconds to sit back on the balista (even more if said balista breaks). Projectiles enemies in general make you waste incredible amounts of time with their bullet (rajang has one of the quickest in the game), and rajang has a gigantic beam that hits everyone in a zone and makes them waste time during the gong. Gatebreakers are not that dangerous. gates are solid, and the first gate WILL break anyways once the apex shows up. the priority list goes like this: -boss/purple monsters (magnamalo, ibushi, and apex included) (they are PRIORITY targets. only get your eyes of them if you are getting ragdolled by a long range harasser.) -long range harassers (same. you don't want to let them be.) -gatebreakers (gates are solid, but not infinite. target them if someone else is already taking gare of long range harassers.) -close range harassers (basically harmless. remember, you can use R to block on a balista.) long range harassers are the worst, because they ALLOW gatebreakers to do their job.
@@Khint lol just have extea ballista set up and use the retreat shot or crag shot to knock it down. I've never had trouble with rajang nor should anyone since they're so weak in this game. The point of taking down gate breakers is to get a better ranking. Sure the apexes will destroy the first one no matter what, but so will normal monsters. Rajang, Aknosom, Pukei, and Rathalos are the easiest to get out of the way. 4 defenders and yourself can take care of it without any issue once you knock it down with a retreat shot or stun it. The projectile monsters should be the least of your concerns as they are the weakest. Also "guard the ballista" LMAOING at YOU for actually using the guard. That shit doesn't do anything at all. If anything, it holds me back
To put my view on this, I priotize Gatebreakers over flyers, which I priotize over the red lads. If am doing a Rampage solo or my role is to take out the flyer, I will priotize it first, as thry always spawn first and are the easiest to take out first edit: I will also help with the red bois if someone is being attacked and I'm on a ballista. I usually use the cannon on Rampages, tho.
@@yoshivsyoshi Pretty much what i do except i don't use cannons at all. The only people who use it are the defenders- who i keep near the front of the main gates. It's usually best to prioritize the gatebreakers to get a good score and more rewards. The higher the points, the more rare items you get (i got 5 beast gems and 2 plates from the apex diablos rampage with S rank). The moment you start getting that level higher, your ballista and cannons and other stuff gets buffed. It all falls on the condition of your gates
Man imagine the terror and hype if they brought Lao Shang Lung back and inserted into a rampage. Just a slow lumbering behemoth smashing through the spiked walls the monsters spawn from and it scales from this ost right into Proof of a Hero.
@@loading2463 Actually it is. Enjoyable even in solo, not too chaotic and sometimes even funny. In multi is even better, but the solo mode alone is very good.
You know how this should be remixed? what would really make this even better? A sea shanty. I want to hear that glorious chorus as a good old shanty tune
I was so stressed when Ibushi got past all of the defenses and was working on breaking down the last wall but this song playing in the background kept me going lol
Really, unless it's Ibushi with its massive collateral damage to the gates, I have the village people and wyvernfire automatons keep the flying idiots at bay while I hit the counter signal and focus exclusively on keeping Basarios, Tetranodon and Anjanath busy with my lance.
Unpopular opinion time: I think the beginning 30 seconds is my most favorite part. Could be because it's the only part of the song that doesn't loop, so it just feels a lot more special to me! But I feel like it does a great job building up the Rampage as this huge, intimidating event you need to band with your allies to defeat!
