Sometimes wish i got amnesia and could play it per first time again. It is always great to come back to it, but nothing beats the magic of playing it the first time and be surprised by all the effort and love poured into it
I remember when I first played this game, how long I spent just looking at everything.. this game is very beautiful, there is so much detail everywhere you look..
The most memorable moment of my first playthrough was fighting Tobi for the first time and their cutscene being just absolutely perfect with it being night and a moon behind them, for ages I thought Tobi Kadachi was a moon inspired monster
Ah, so you spent about 2 years of your life stuck in cutscenes, zorah fights and other stuff like that? (It never fails to annoy the shit out of me each time I make a new game)
@Lucas-xn6yi On my PC files I used the mod skip for sure, but going through a couple times on the PS4/5, I just use that time for remedial tasks like doing the dishes, taking the dog outside, etc. It's still annoying for sure, but I try to make the best of my time :)
I had a friend try out Monster Hunter for the first time and it got my entire group back together on new characters to assist in the journey. MH World was and still is something special.
Best game ever in my heart forever the group I played with don’t play anymore glad you got your crew back into it i read your comment and I was thinking I wish my friends would come back and do refresh characters must be a blast
Did you guys start all new characters or just bring your mains with low level gear? As much as I would love to do it entirely new, needing to do cutscenes and join in and leave is a bit too annoying.
Starting Mosnter Hunter again, any of them, is always such a journey. Feels like going back to humble beginnings, so little is at your disposal, yet you know how much there is to gain. I can't wait to watch
Just started Iceborne couple months ago. This is my only Monster Hunter game so far but it’s helped me thru Covid and other tough spots, and I’ve just been addicted to other lore and the entire world building. Beyond an amazing game and franchise
Just letting everyone know the community doesnt claim people like that @NickReilly-iv6jg guy and their weird af gatekeeping, there is no such thing as "casul and nonfan"
MH:W turns 6 and MH:IB turns 5 this january and honestly it feels like it was only released a couple of months ago. Hopefully Capcom announces something about the next gen MH this 2024
@@menega-_9291as someone who started since 2nd gen, I didnt know until well into iceborne because resupply and changing weapons mid hunt does not exist for me. Also it really makes the game too easy once I learned to abuse it
@@forbiddenluck2243 Nothing monstrous about it, that's just how we did things back in the day. Hell, I still don't use the camps or even the radial shortcut thing just because of how ingrained in me the old methods are. Go into a hunt strapped to the gills, leave a row and a half in your bag empty for materials, eat before you leave and hope you didn't forget anything.
I didn't even know Monster Hunter existed before I saw World arrive. It was the first game in the series I played and I absolutely love it. Its soooooo good. Loving Rise as well. Big fan now \o/
@NickReilly-iv6jg I... did not like my own comment. Why would I? And how am I ruining Monster Hunter? You seem to have a chronic case of the asshole syndrom.
I remember buying World simply because "Ooh cool dragon on the cover!" But I didn't actually touch it for a while. It was only when I found out there were lil cat buddies that I finally tried it out and I've been hooked since. I love the detail, the atmosphere, and how much thought goes into the monsters. They're not just thrown in as simple enemies for you to kill, they have lore and a surprising amount of biological plausibility for a fantasy world. Also the fact that the franchise manages to be repetitive but never boring is incredible.
Just started MHW a couple of days ago and I absolutely love it. It blows my mind that this game only has two main stories but filled with so much content, and servers are always packed with people.
Whenever I start using a new weapon I always like to start a new mh world playthrough to learn it, currently on my 4th run after longsword, swaxe, charge blade and now great sword
this is smart. It shows you exactly how important each move is. I dont start a new save, I just do quests with the weapon I'm upgrading, even if I already have all of the parts. I see some people grab guardian set and just get carried to guiding lands and still not know what they're doing. Its too strong of a weapon in low and high rank for you to actually learn anything
me and my friends just got back to mhw after a while! We started a new character and we've been having fun like it was the first time. Thanks for this video, such a nice nostalgic trip :)
Me and my girlfriend just finished Shara ishvalda last night for her first time playing through the game, my 5th or so, it’s been an amazing journey and it’s made me so happy to see her embrace and enjoy a game that means a ton to me
Your music selections never, EVER fail to disappoint. It's like you've managed to consistently capture the best early years of VGM with the contemporary sound libraries used in music today.
Been a huge fan ever since Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP. Still love every game in the series and I'm glad to see it's still going stronger than ever (:
Take me back to 2018 when the kulve siege just dropped. New builds, friends online and looking to play every day, and I made friends with a guy who ran a small channel online called DarkHero. Blessed times
I'm on my 5th playthrough too. This game means a lot to me. It was the first ps4 game I played, (like, It was astonishing considering that before MHWI I was playing ps2 games) my first online experiences were on this game and also finally got something that I dreamed about for years: A group of friends to play with. Also this game helped me to cope w 2020's corona thing and my big sadness at the time. I still play with the same group of friends but I try to get my new friends to join me, because I really like MHWI coop experience with friends. Also helped me to learn how to be a team player rather than a lone wolf. I also just cry at every major milestone cinema including the first one w the ship. Memories hit me so hard that I just can't do anything but cry out of... Joy.
Had 350 hours on my xbox until I sold it. Missed the game so much that I had to buy it for my ps5. Currently at HR and having a blast. This game is truly special.
I cant believe it has been 5 years since Ive played this game at launch. The game looks and plays so good and well, that you couldve told me this game came out this year and I wouldve belueved you. This game truly evolved the series mechanics since its inception. Making it a modern timeless classic.
Have a friend that recently bought it on cyber monday sales. Our group of 3 immediately got back on to help them but challenged ourselves by mastering a new weapon we previously never used!
Yay. Comment and liked before even watching., This was my intro to MH after binge watching streamers play the plder games, then this released and I still hop on. im 2/3rds the way to MR 999 lol. Always work to do. I still have less than a few hunts with the Ig, DBs and the Lance. And I dont have every single weapon either. And that Grinding Lands end game, tho much improved now, stopped me from fully levelling more than a few weapons and armour sets. Love this game though and I love all your vids so I know imma enjoy this
I love that I can keep coming back to this game and make it entirely fresh just by swapping weapons. I avoided Lance for the longest time, now I can't get enough of it. Counter Claw is my new best friend, I can shield anything, I am a walking nuclear bunker, lance charge go brrr
I just started my first modded play through after beating the game 2 times. A lot of fun (I hope the the next monster hunter game is more like world with its story and world.)
up today ALOT of people are still filling online lobbys trying to hunt down the fatalis or farm the alatreon, even alot of new players or veterans that start a new run are still present in the game, it's such a masterpiece
The fart part had me dying, thanks for the magic. I got to this video since I just started a new journey with it, played since the first entry, and I love this series.
I recently started my 3rd character and it's been so damn fun for some reason. This game is really refreshing after playing mh rise for a while (which I don't really like to be honest) and I do hope Monster Hunter 6 will be a sequel to this masterpiece! I would even be fine with a dlc to be able to experience this game for the 1st time again~
I'm so happy to see you posting something about MHW again. You can think and say what you want. But MHW saved me a bit to stay sane through the pandemic. It is one of the best games for me, and I'm gaming for 35 years now. The level design, crafting system, weapong mechanics, the looks, the difficulty (with rewarding solo kill bosses) and the soundtrack are art.
So I only recently learned this after coming back to Monster Hunter World. (Last I had played was right before Iceborne launched). Every weapon in the game had had some new moves added to it with the launch of the DLC. You'll particularly like the Charged Blade's combo if I go by the fact you've been using it the whole time. You should look up a video about it to get more details, but in short, when you do your double button axe slam with charged phials, before the hit comes out, press the left trigger equivalent of whatever controls you're using. Doing this will put you into Buzzsaw mode. Buzzsaw mode turns what would've been single hits into multi hits, like when you shoot down the length of a monster's body with Pierce Pods. Buzzsaw mode drains Phials over time so once they're empty the mode ends. Nothings stopping you from building up more charge though to keep buzz saw mode going. It's finally made using normal attack button in axe mode super satisfying! Definitely try it out!
Once Wilds was announced I decided I'd play through both MHW and MHR plus DLCs (since I never actually fully finished either). 2025 is going to be a great year!
I just picked it up again for the first time since it came out and I'm about to start another playthrough. I'm getting my cheeks spanked in MR. So I'm gonna commit to ONE weapon and master it in the next playthrough.
I have just purchased world for PC after not llying since i had a consle 5 years ago. I need to learn it all over again and i know i wil be overwhelmed
I got stuck on Anjanath for weeks since my Greatsword couldn't reach his head nor his tail well. As soon as I first encounter odoragon i was surprise i could beat it without dying, howver i only land 30% of my swings,it moves so fast! MHW is truly the game I've been looking for! No other games kept me more focus and occupied than Monster Hunter
got this game a week or so back thanks to the steam sale. Outside of a mod to change button icons, the game itself is almost perfect, and I'm a little worried I've been spending too much time playing recently.
Endgame is fun and everything but having to decide which mantle to take, searching ups guides how to find stuff, carefully crafting different weapons and armor and building your own build instead of stacking crit, damage and weapon specific decorations into fatalis armor really was on another level. MHW + IB is the epitome of the saying "the path is the goal"
Wtf?! I just started a fresh mhw file today too because I was sick of playing rise/break lol. It’s so funny how many of us always gravitate back towards world even though it’s a much longer fresh save file compared to rise. World is just so comfy.
