Fun fact: I played monster hunter world once a long time back, didn't like the combat so I could refunded it for dmc5. Then after max0r released this banger I decided to give it another shot, and to my surprise it just kinda clicked with me, it's actually pretty great, even as my first monster hunter game. Thank you, max0r, I'm hopelessly addicted to it now

4:25 Actually, there is a canon explanation as to what happens to captured monsters. In previous MH games, the guild would remove the parts from the monsters in a way that was non-lethal, and then return them to the wild (which implies you don't get the *full* skull), but the Research Commission *usually* ends up killing their captured monsters anyway. Just more efficiently, yielding more usable parts.

Surprisingly the PC port of Rise is really well detailed. The game already looked good on switch due to the RE engine, so with a few tweaks to the resolution it looks and runs great.

I've literally programmed an automatic damage calculator for this game by reverse engineering the damage calculation before the wiki existed in the era of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. It was worth it. That game didn't even tell you what damage your weapons did.

That's actually true btw. Since humans are one of the few animals to have sweat glands all over their entire body, they have the ability to run at greater distances without overheating. So lets say if you were an animal, even if you ran a considerable distance from the hunters, they would catch up and kill you eventually.

The best part about the Thanos joke is that there is an actual, real-life genus of dinosaur that was named "Thanos". Like, after the Marvel character. It's a dubious genus, but a paleontologist really sat down and said that they were naming a dinosaur "Thanos" unironically.
