Join us in this episodes theme breakdown as we peer beneath the surface of Monster's Inc. We take a look at Mike Wazowski, James P Sullivan (Sully) and Boo's adventure and find how just like Monstertropolis, we can harness fear as an energy source, a catalyst for growth and overcoming.
How Fear can be used as a tool for oppression just as its weaponised to keep the monsters of Monstertropolis terrified of the very children they scare. How being too afraid to face the very thing that we fear gives it the power to manifest into a terror beyond our comprehension, just as the monsters’ inability to face Boo for what she really is, an innocent 3-year old child, leads to her being described as a laser-beam firing, telekinetic killing machine.
How fear must be overcome in a perpetual cycle of confrontation, overcoming and growth, and how we cannot rely on fear as a permanent energy source, for just like Waternoose, if we do we may end up being consumed by it.
