Fun fact: the movie was originally gonna start with the simulator scene. However, they felt it could be too scary for young kids (myself included), so they came up with the jazzy opening credits to let them know how lighthearted this movie is.
Another not so fun fact, this movie underwent last minute changes as originally harryhausen (the restaurant) was meant to explode, but they changed it last minute to a protective dome because they thought the explosion would be insensitive so close to 9/11
There seems to be something to the 'matching kids to the right monster' cos Boo seems scared of Randall in a way she isn't of any of the others, also her monster costume is the same color as Randall and they're both good at disappearing.
One of my favorite lines that I imitate to this day is “first of all, its’s cretin. If you are you going to insult me, do it properly.” It is so iconic and hysterical and you get a grammar lesson out of it. Billy Crystal is a legend.
Well actually word on the block is that Boo is Violet from the Incredibles as a toddler & that's why she "disappeared" & "reappeared" As Jack Jack had teleportation too as a baby so Violet had it when she was lil too. The whole Pixar + Disney universe is intricately connected 😉👌🏻
I will never forget when the jelly monster falls at the start and says “oh GRATE” my parents laughed so hard in an otherwise silent theater that we almost got asked to leave. It was their favorite joke in the whole movie and it took me years to get it 😂. Cherished memory.

Great reaction! I love this movie so much! You should definitely check out Monsters University, and if you want more of the monsters universe, you should also watch Monsters at Work. It’s a mini series that starts the day after the factory switches to laugh power.
My absolute favorite childhood movie! This was also Pete Docter's first feature film that he directed as he made this, and later went on to direct Up, Inside Out, and Soul. Each one has enormous amount of heart.
The trailer Randall ends up in is actually from A Bug's Life. I love the little tie-ins and homages Pixar used to do. Monsters University was just ok for me, but the librarian was my favorite. She was my inspiration during the time I worked in a library myself.
3:04 Surprisingly, VR is NOT as recent a development as most people think it is. The first VR headset (if you could call it that) was made in 1968 and was called "The Sword of Damocles", in case you want to read about it. It was crap compared to what they're like today, since your head was practically fastened in due to the fact that the "headset" was mounted on the ceiling (the hardware would've been too heavy for people to have on their neck otherwise). Also, apparently every line said by Boo was said by one of the crew member's daughters (who was a toddler at the time) and everything she said in the film was what they were able to get from following her around with a microphone. Apparently, there was a cat multiple times... thus "Kitty" was made to refer to Sully.
So, curiously there has always been one question that no one else as ever answered me before. So, Boo is gone for almost 2 days straight in the monster world, so does time work slower or different in the human world that no one noticed that Boo wasn't in her room. I mean she was in the Monster world for practically almost 2 days. Her parents didn't know that she was gone. I am confused about that part of the movie. But I did enjoy your reaction like always.
Oh my gosh. Re-watching this movie as an adult is such a trip! So many great jokes and well-planned story elements sprinkled all over the place. Thank you for this fun reaction; I really loved your jokes in this video! I can't wait to see your next ones!
Monsters Inc is so fun. Great reaction as usual. Monsters University is also pretty good but what connects VERY WELL and is AMAZING is the sequel series Monsters at work which is worth checking out if you have not already.

Haven’t seen this in years. Honestly I didn’t even really remember everything that happened in it. Besides boo and they went from scaring kids to making them laugh. I think you’d like the 1960 Swiss Family Robinson movie on Disney+. Would love to see a reaction to that if you want to. I saw for the first time 2 years ago and really liked it. Love your videos! I love this movie one of my favorites for sure. I remember I was like 5 yo when this came out, I used to have pigtails at the time, my brother was super tall and fluffy I hang on him like Boo in Sulley. I even called him Kitty for a long time. I miss him so much. ♥💕
there's a theory out there that Boo is either the Witch from brave who's always trying to get back to sully after her doorway was destroyed or that Boo is a child of a super and the reason she can be places before you look is not just because she's a toddler but also because her power or one of them is teleportation or world hopping like Jack jack in Incredibles 2
I watched a theory video that said during the interview at the sushi restaurant the monster being interviewed was talking about Jack-Jack from the Incredibles. He has all the powers that was described such as the laser eyes, teleportation and more.
Bwahahaha! Using the Jimmy Barnes vocal from Big Enough, instead of Jim Carey's original buzzer noise. (My favorite part of that whole scene is always watching the guy in the middle try not to fall apart laughing). This has always been one of my absolute favorites. Boo is deadly cute.
Fun facts: -In the prequel the scare classes thank about how each child needs a certain type of share for maximum scream, so they won't do something like cry instead. - George has a 23-19, which correlates to "WS", or "White Sock" -screams are a gaseous energy source, so all the buildings have pipes and regulators like natural gas or steam instead of wires and switches
YAS!!! as always king serving top tier content! I have to work and study for a test but this is way more important (I keep my priorities straight) The sequel is actually good I loved it when I watched it in theaters. I get that monster that gets scared of kids more than I thought i would now as a 26 year old. edit: (SPOILER ALERT for the incredibles 2) I read a theory that said that the kid that "flew and blasted a car" was actually the baby from The incredibles.
