Monstrous water spray during RIAT 2023

It was a very wet during the Royal International Air Tattoo this year, which allowed for some very cool steam, water vapour and spray from the aircraft.

Seeing that Chinook at the end doing that back up then take off got my eyes open for damn sure LOL. I've never seen that done before

Thanks for the comment. And thank you for your service too. We normally see a Swiss F-18C or D at the show but the Finnish Air Force sent one this year. I guess to celebrate the fact they're now part of NATO. Man I bet you have some stories from working on these awesome jets 😎

5:40 You are a aviation enthusiast for over 30 years and think you already saw everything. Never knew that the blades of the front rotor of the Chinook actually can go inside the perimeter of the tail rotor and not collide because of gear synchronization. It is pretty obvious now as a solution for blade flexing, but I had never payed attention to that. I wonder if they got that idea from Kaman. Also, props for the pilot for going backwards on the flight. Really got a feeling of watching Tenet again :-)
